Microtech: Academy Of Idiots - Volume 1 Chapter 71 Closing The Case
Renren understood the plan. He returned to the condominium to wait for some time. Tian was able to justify that his intention was for their good. He wanted Lui To die within the premises of the Academy so that MicroTech wouldn’t blame anyone else.
The officer who had met Lui the last time went to take permission to lead a few of his men towards the abandoned district. He called for more security when he saw that someone was digging the reserves of the abandoned district and taking advantage of the present situation. Tian and his partner have enough resources to invest in the equipment, and the workers needed for such a project. It was happening under the nose of the State officials. The officer couldn’t believe this. The delay was because people had taken bribes to keep their mouths shut.
Now it was time to uncover the old truths. The officer collected all the evidence and sealed the place up against future trespassers. He also arrested the workers and got permission from the court to further the investigation and demand for the culprits behind these acts to be stopped.
He wasn’t going to go easy on them. The biggest criminals were the officers who were collecting bribes all this time. It was necessary to know these officers.
Tian was happy that he was able to finally persuade the boy in accordance with his plan. The spy he left to chase the senior officer had returned with some bad news.
The old partner had immediately left the country to hide some place. The greedy partner on the other hand, was caught at the site red-handed giving instructions to the workers. He wanted to dig as much as possible before anyone could reopen the case, but he was unaware that the case was already under the hands of some seniors and, the bribes no longer worked in his favour. The investigation was inflexible and he was not some hard bone to keep the secret to himself. He blurted the name of other partners.
“What are you saying?” he jolted from his seat. He thought that his loyal informants would inform him if there was anything new updates but it turned out that he kept in the dark until the final hours.
The matter wasn’t about his cluelessness. The matter was kept so secretive that even the officers guilty of taking bribes were arrested too without prior warning or even a hint. This was due to the efficiency of the senior officers.
Now the concrete evidence were in their hands and the criminals were in custody. Only the mastermind was yet to be uncovered. Tian didn’t speak out the name of the old partner.
He kept silence during all the hearings of the court. He was reflecting in his mind where he left a reckless clue or major mistake that led him into his present situation.
Lui was in the hospital. He was completely unaware about all these secrets, right? He questioned himself via his thoughts.
It wasn’t any mistake of his. It was just the efficiency and willingness of the senior officers to solve the case under the burden of the media who hounds them like hungry dogs and vital clues given by the teen student. It was all too sudden and unexpected. No one ever thought that the case which was buried under the Pages of history would suddenly become a hot topic. And that someone would solve it. There was the addition of a new badge of recognition on the shoulder of the officer after he solved such a crucial case within record time.
Lui was aware of this through the Academy notification. The Academy and especially Mu Ten were giving attention to this case after all one of the students was from the same place as him. Also, it concerns the Academy when the student wasn’t someone random.
Renren also saw the news on the media and mocked the man in his thoughts. During his talk, he was trying to show how smart he was, yet the police caught him and now he was being sent to jail for years. The other partner was sentenced to death, and there was a death warrant issued out for the old partner as well.
He was sure that if he had followed through with the plan, he would be facing the same or some other worst punishment. So, he thought to let it go until he finds a chance to follow through with his plan.
The present situation was not feasible for carrying out any action against Lui. He went to choose sub-subjects for the next session. After that he went to visit Lui.
A guard of the man told Renren that Lui and his friend had spotted himself and Tian when they were talking so, it was necessary to meet him and create an excuse.
“It’s you Renren. I hope everything is fine?” Lui asked rather casually.
Renren was among Lui’s most trusted so he didn’t want to imagine without a clear proof that Renren could betray him.
“I was coming to meet you when a man stopped me and asked whether I was friends with you, then he started trash talk, and I had to kick his as* and run away,” he muttered angrily to make Lui believe what he was saying was the truth.
“Oh, was he trying to persuade you against me?” Lui asked snickering. He knew that if someone irritates Renren, he will start cursing nonstop.
“Indeed! But now I know that enemies are meant to be kicked out and not kept as friends,” he flopped on the couch and relaxed after seeing that Lui was no longer suspicious.
“You better prepare for your next session. Then it would be more fun to kick out the enemies,” Lui smiled and reminded him with ease. He only wanted his friends to learn their own good and bad. Renren seemed stomped by his words.
This was what he hated the most which is to take orders and get unwarranted pieces of advice. He was also mature and knew his good and bad, then why this Lui keep repeating like an old fashioned podcast.
One day, he would kick him off and live at ease with himself. These thoughts we’re running through his mind.
“Sure, I would follow your words,” Renren stood up and left.
He could not mask his thoughts for long especially if Lui wanted to scrutinize his movements and words, he would be exposed or Lui might get suspicious, both acquisitions would be against him, so he left early.
