Midnight Prince: Empire of Sin - Chapter 493: TIME TO CELEBRATE
Aleksandra, hearing Adam’s proposal was about to object at first but then… instead of making a decision due to her prejudice regarding his mother, she really pondered deeply on this matter.
This was perhaps the best way for them to sort things out and mitigate this perilous situation at hand. Specifically, for Fedora, there really was no other way that would be better than the one Adam had suggested to them. To hunt something, you had to know that thing, sometimes even more than your hunting target itself.
Cecilia had killed more than one Alpha during her prime in the land of Russia, natural or not didn’t matter. In fact, the sheer number of werewolves she had killed was not something that was feasibly countable nor was it something one would willingly try to calculate. Cecilia was not short of being a Grim Reaper for those who were alive and escaped her judgments during the warring times.
It was such a shameful period for their race that almost every single one of them had a tacit understanding of not spreading the events of those perilous times. They were also forced to hide everything because the society of werewolves in Russia had been so severely weakened that if the news had been leaked out into the world, they might have been wiped out from the face of the world by their enemies.
When it came to killing, Cecilia was definitely at the top of the top, and her understanding of their species as a whole should be quite high. Enough to become the ultimate guide for their race. Thus, it was adequate to say that she would be a really great training teacher for both Fedora and Natasha.
“Very well. We will do it.”
Adam’s eyebrow shot up after hearing the confidence with his Natasha replied to him and he couldn’t help but ask, “Do you have the authority for that?”
“I am a true Alpha now, you know?” Natasha pointed at her blood-red pupils as she spoke of that fact. If he had to be honest, the contrast between her red pupils and her golden hair gave her more of the appearance of a vampire from what he had seen in the modern legends.
But he did not dwell further on that topic.
“What about Fedora?”
“I can make the decision on her behalf as she is currently in my territory. Furthermore, I am sure she will not refuse this offer. As you have mentioned, it would be better for her to stay away from the main family for the time being.”
Aleksandra shrugged when Adam sent her a look. She had already been very much in favor of his proposal, after thinking things through, and since Natasha herself was not against this suggestion then there was nothing much for her to add to this matter.
Expect one thing, however…
“I will also follow you both.”
“Oh? I don’t think we will have enough room in the house for all the guests. Furthermore, are you sure about that?”
Adam was surprised but he didn’t mind her tagging along. He was sure that Cecilia would love having a maid in the house. Having a genuine maid would just add to her reasoning to just laze around and drink or watch TV after training with the pair of girls.
“Housing problems are not a matter for us. We can just buy a house in your neighborhood.”
“Ah…”
Adam’s lips twitched ever so slightly. Was this the difference between a nouveau riche like him and an ancient aristocratic family like them? Things he considered tricky were nothing to them.
As they said, a problem that could be resolved with money was not a problem after all.
‘I guess I should slowly change my mindset as well when it comes to these matters.’
Adam caressed the eyepatch he was wearing. There were many things he would have to change as well about his current appearance. Though looking like a pirate was pretty cool and all, the chunni soul inside him was screaming out of joy every time he looked at himself in the mirror. This could not continue, or else it could take a dangerous turn. It could become a habit, or he may become addicted to this feeling. And he was not having that.
Sigh~
“Do as you wish. Anyway, I have given my opinion on this matter already. Since everyone is okay with it, then it is decided. Just give me a minute; I will have to make a few calls. To warn them of your arrival.”
Natasha and Aleksandra watched as Adam quietly taped his temple before starting to move his lips. They were surprised to realize that even at this distance they could not hear what he was saying on the other side and even the sight of his lips became somewhat blurry, making it impossible for them to read them and learn what he was talking about.
Adam was becoming more and more mysterious as time passed for them.
Aleksandra wondered briefly if she could even take him on if she used her full power. She had weakened greatly over the years as she was an Alpha without her pack to back her up and in fact, was even in the pack of another Alpha right now.
Even so, she was still quite powerful. If she had not been taken aback by ‘Fedora’ betrayal, she would not have lost so miserably and lost an arm like that. Trace the roots of this material to novelb!n•
‘I feel like I can still win. But…’
Something was unsettling about him. This was not something new for her to be honest. This would mean that while she was stronger than him on paper, Adam had one or many skills in his arsenal, for that matter, that could completely change the tide of the situation to his advantage.
These kinds of people were the most troublesome to fight as you never knew exactly how strong they were or could become and in what they could dish out to annihilate you in the end.
‘Five weeks, huh…’
She could only give a bitter smile at the absurdity of his growth. Perhaps she should simply be happy that Natasha found such a dependable mate and stop comparing herself to him. That would be the best for an ancient being like her who was merely a vestige of her past self.
After ending his call, Adam’s voice reached out to them once more and they could clearly hear his words,
“They accepted, more or less. Mom in particular is pretty happy that you guys are going to be accompanying her. So yeah, everything checks out now.”
“Thank you. I don’t know how I will be able to repay you for this.”
Natasha hugged Adam as she spoke those heartfelt words. She had to say, the help Adam gave her had far surpassed anything she could ever actually repay.
“Ohh trust me. I know a few ways how you would be able to do that.”
The suggestive smile he gave was enough to make Natasha blush in shame and cause Aleksandra to laugh gently at the sight before her.
After teasing Natasha a bit more, Adam ruffled her hair before speaking.
“Well. Now that this is done, I think it’s time we turn to the main reason I came here initially.”
He smiled at Natasha, “I managed to get a new Reservation at Ahamdou’s restaurant.”
Since he had worked on this case with his Red Magician persona, the news of him saving the day alongside Tsubasa was already going around the city.
This had done wonders for his achievement points since Tsubasa reported that everything was practically done by him and she was just helping out from the side. Once they ended up working on this case, he would receive quite a bit of reward for his deeds.
Sadly, he had to also use a few of his points to keep Natasha from being put on a leash or straight-up executed by the Association for bringing forth this atrocity.
Though he was sure that he wasn’t the only one who had worked behind the scenes to make this a reality. Otherwise, it would have been impossible to keep the sharks at bay.
Either way, Ahmadou did not care about all these political schemes and simply gave him a new reservation to thank him for saving the city.
“Shall we go Celebrate your birthday?” He muttered close to her ears, “Just the three of us.”
The three of them had many things to talk about after all.
