Midnight Prince: Empire of Sin - Chapter 497: RISING SUN
?497 CH 483: RISING SUN
Adam was quite…Let’s say stunned by Natasha’s question. It was quite the unexpected one, to say the least. But soon, it brought a smile to his face.
“Even your parents will have to call me grand uncle if they see me.”
Natasha laughed. Just imagining this was hilarious. Seniority was still very prevalent in their society as werewolves. As the son of Cain, Adam had without a doubt the third highest seniority possible. But his true age was not even half of that of her father.
This was entertaining.
“I am not a hunter, and I have no interest in the so-called equilibria for peace. Those are just excuses from people vested in keeping the status quo.”
She took his hands, “I don’t know when you will reveal yourself to the world, but just know it will not be you vs the world. It will be us against a bunch of greedy people.”
Adam appreciated the gesture, “In the end, as cliche as it may seem, everything depends on my power and that of my forces. If I am weak, I will be trampled on in the name of justice. If I am strong enough, I will be observed from afar.”
This was all. In this situation, this was not a matter of morality. Just of power. No matter how simple it seemed, sometimes reality was that simple.
Natasha nodded. She had a full day to process everything and accept what Adam was. Even though she seemed so nonchalant now, it had not been easy as she fought to grasp all the implications.
‘I may have to leave my family.’
Adam was not safe and once things exploded, she may even become a weak point for him. Fighting someone who had nothing to lose was one thing but it was different when it was someone who had people he loved and cared for.
She too needed to become stronger. She wanted to walk alongside Adam, not as a burden that needed to be protected and cared for but as a companion that could walk equally or as close as possible to him.
A day where she was so helpless Adam had to die many times to save her like he did yesterday should never happen again.
It had to be said but. It seemed like cults in general were destined to be his nemesis. He hoped this would not escalate too much. Sadly, destroying all cults was simply impossible.
Now thanks to Takoda, he had gotten a clue about dark elves. An information might give him a new force to control or new enemies to behead.
“Well. Enough gloomy chat. Shall we enjoy your birthday?”
They nodded and talked. What followed was not the steamy the night Adam would have perhaps hoped. They had to work on Hugr perception after all. Adam was even thinking on how to help her project herself or get a body so that she could have her own independence away from Natasha.
He didn’t know if it was possible. But…It seemed like making the impossible possible was his whole thing.
‘I might find an answer in the Silver Library.’
This was something to ponder.
In the end, as the light of the sun started to bath the world, Adam and Natasha were floating quietly in each other arms and admiring the rising sun.
“Thank you, Adam. For everything.”
“This is just the beginning, you know? We have many things to explore and many sights to witness.”
“True. We will do all this together.”
She smiled.
Natasha was happy. Many hardships were in the horizon but she knew she could overcome them all.
As long as he was there with her.
What more to ask?
This was the beauty of life.
