Mimi’s lips brushed his, her breath fanning against his as she pushed up on one elbow to reach closer. She carefully stuck out her tongue and licked his lips before she pressed her lips softly on his. Her hands clenched tightly to his black suit jacket to hold her trembling body in place.
Tobias’s body stiffened in place, his eyes wide. He would have allowed the kiss to deepen, but his heart was filled with uncertainty. Curling his fingers around the back of her neck, he urged her to lift her head.
As her lips hovered a breath above his and her burning gaze looked deep into his soul, he murmured, “Mimi…do you love me?”
Mimi, breathed heavily, her eyes refocusing from his lips to his eyes. They looked at her with a trace of hope and fear. When she heard his question, her lips curled.
“I love you.”
He looked down at her with furrowed brows. He didn’t seem convinced.
“Are you saying that out of l.u.s.t or because of what happened earlier today?”
Mimi giggled. She looked up into his eyes with a soft, warm gaze.
“I know my heart, Tobias. I know what love feels like and my feelings for you won’t change.” She said each word with intensity. “When I tell you I love you, that means I’ll love you until the very day we die.”
Tobias stared at her with a blank expression. He’d never imagined this time would come. He wasn’t prepared. Her words soaked into his soul, slowly filling his trembling heart.
“You love me…” He said slowly, wonderingly. Then with greater certainty, he said it again, “You love me.”
“Very much, so you better believe it,” She laughed softly. She raised her hands to cup his face so she could look into his eyes. The violet in her eyes was so pure that he saw right to her gallant, steadfast soul. “I love you, Tobias Itou. I will always love you.”
He blinked. Suddenly, Mimi’s fingers felt wet. His eyes were wet. Looking up with widened eyes, she saw warm tears flowing down from Tobias’s eyes. No longer able to bear it, she raised her body up and softly brushed her lips to his.
The moment he opened his mouth, Mimi nibbled on his lips, her tongue delving deeper into his mouth with each touch until their mouths clamped together. One of his arms sn.a.k.e.d around her waist and rolled them.
On top, Mimi lay between his legs, breathing in his masculine scent. Sucking on his tongue, she enjoyed each and every groan that escaped his throat. She clutched his suit jacket and tried to pull him closer.
She had never kissed anyone before. But from all the p.o.r.nos she watched, she had an idea of how it worked a bit. However, that didn’t mean she was a pro.
Mimi felt a hot breath on her neck, then the tender brush of lips, burning as they made contact. A hand runs through her hair, as the kisses become harder and more urgent. His other hand slides around her waist and pulls her close to his strong, hard body.
God, he wanted more.
However, regaining his senses, Tobias grabs her arms and lifted her up. Her tongue left his mouth, her lips wet.
“We…” He breathed heavily. “Need to stop.”
As if she didn’t hear him, Mimi leaned down to kiss him again. Tobias raised a hand to her mouth, his breathing was chaotic, heavy.
“Mimi.” Tobias warned.
He traced her lip lightly with the tip of his finger. A pink tongue pokes out from between her rosy lips, and she gently bit his finger in complaint.
His dark eyes dimmed a little. He had such an urge to bite her pink lips, to kiss them, and wrap the two of them in the covers and listen to her gentle breathing.
He felt terrible right now. His muscles felt so tight that hot sweat came out from his forehead. Mimi’s breathing against his hand was hot, her lips soft.
Tobias’s throat moved up and down, forcing down the violent emotions inside him.
“We need to stop.” He repeated, his voice heavy.
Sitting in the V of his legs, her legs dr.a.p.ed comfortably around his waist, Mimi frowned, her eyes filled with complaint. Feeling a strange sense of guilt, Tobias kissed her jaw, cheek, and her temple – completely avoiding her lips.
Realizing he was trying to appease her, Mimi couldn’t help but smile.
“Fine, I forgive you.” She giggled.
Tobias smiled and rubbed her head. Seeing how he was treating her like usual, she felt somewhat gloomy again. At that moment, her phone rang. Glancing behind her, Mimi saw her phone set on the table beside the bed.
“You should answer it,” Tobias sighed and lifted her out of his lap. He needed space anyway.
Mimi frowned somewhat but did as she was told. Crawling across the bed, she grabbed her phone and answered.
“Hello?”
“Little one, are you safe?” Shen Jue’s voice on the other end held a rare trace of distress.
“Shen Jue?” Mimi’s eyes furrowed before narrowing suspiciously. “Why are you asking that?”
Tobias who was standing up from the bed stiffened. He turned his head to look at her with a slight scowl.
“Did anything strange happen to you recently?” Shen Jue asked.
Mimi laughed coldly. “Well, if being chased by four grown men in black suits counts, then yes.”
She heard Shen Jue curse on the other end.
“How did you know this would happen?” Mimi frowned. She could see from the corner of her vision Tobias walking over toward her.
“It’s Kenji, he’s suspicious of you. More specifically of Andras. However, thinking you’re a family member he thought to kidnap you and use it against Andras.”
Mimi’s eyes were opened wide, a trace of confusion in their depths. “How did he…”
“I don’t know. But it’s best if you don’t return home for a while. Where are you right now? Are you safe?”
“Yes, I’m safe.” Mimi looked up at Tobias and nearly burst out laughing upon seeing his silent glare.
On the other line, Shen Jue was silent.
“Are you with Tobias right now?” His voice oddly sounded calm.
“Yes,” Mimi answered truthfully. When she reached her hand up and interlocked her fingers with Tobias’s, his expression visibly softened.
Shen Jue went quiet again. It was so long that Mimi thought he had hung up until she heard him say in a rare, dull tone: “Mimi, come here. Right now.”
Mimi narrowed her eyes slightly as she felt that the chill in Shen Jue’s words to be rather strange.
“Why?”
“I didn’t tell you this before because I didn’t want to get you involved, but I found some information on Emily’s death.”
Mimi, who was playing with Tobias’s fingers suddenly froze.
Noticing the shift in her mood, Tobias frowned. His hand reassuringly squeezed hers. As if suddenly realizing the man next to her, Mimi calmed down the raging emotions within her. Her hands clenched.
“What is it?” She asked calmly.
“I’ll tell you if you come over.” His voice carried a trace of teasing.
Mimi grit her teeth. “Shen Jue, I’m in no mood to play your games. Now tell me what you know.”
“Nope.”
At that point, Mimi could no longer contain her temper. With a heavy sigh, she conceded defeat.
“Fine, I’ll see you in an hour.”
Without waiting for him to respond, she hung up. The moment she ended the call, Tobias’s expression darkened.
“You’re meeting him?”
Mimi looked at him and sighed tiredly. “I have no choice. He has information on my sister.”
Tobias was briefly aware of the strong relationship Mimi had with her sister, Emily Hirogori. As well as her revenge. He knew it was important to her but still, he wanted to be with her forever if possible. Especially since she admitted to loving him.
The more you care, the more you love it. The more dark thoughts and the more undetectable worries.
Tobias suddenly reached out and encircled the girl in his arms, and everything else seemed to be unable to maintain his interest. He only wanted her.
Mimi was shocked by his unexpected action. She could tell he was sulking right now.
With a soft sigh, she patted his back. “Tobias…”
“Let me go with you.”
Mimi’s eyes widened. “What?”
Tobias pulled away from her just enough so he could look at her. “Let’s meet him together.”
Mimi blinked. Then she blinked again. She stared with wide, round eyes in disbelief at Tobias. She lowered her head and thought for a bit.
Tobias already knew the truth so would it be so bad to bring him along? Yet, she felt a strong reluctance to get him involved any further.
Tobias looked down. Mimi’s pink lips were tightly pressed together. It was clear as day that she was currently tense and fighting an inner struggle from his request.
He sighed and leaned down to rest his head against hers.
“Please?” He pleaded softly.
Mimi swallowed.
Damnit.
Her eyes lowered, lashes trembling slightly. After a long period of silence, she mumbled, “You can come…”
Hearing that promise from Mimi, the corners of Tobias’s mouth curled up and he chuckled. He tucked some stray locks of her hair behind her ear and kissed her forehead.
“Thank you.”
The corners of her lips curled up mischievously. She raised her head to peck him on the lips. “But you owe me.”
Tobias was rendered speechless by her words.
Why did he feel as if he would regret this later?
