Mimi - Chapter 267
The two women sat around the table. Mimi sipped her water – the only non-alcoholic beverage she could drink. When she set the cup down on the glass table, a sharp tap sounded through the VIP room. Unexpectedly, the sound made everyone feel more on edge.
In the last ten minutes, the game seemed to be going well on Robin’s side, when all of a sudden, the tables changed. To Robin and everyone’s surprise, Mimi could play very well. Too well.
In the first round, she pulled a straight flush. Under everyone’s eyes, she had won.
Robin’s face still held onto her cool expression, while her hands betrayed her anger as she gripped on the cards.
“You play well for someone your age.”
“Toby taught me well. Along with many other things…” Mimi’s voice was scarily serene, while her expression was unusually gentle. In her hand, she fiddled with a plastic chip piece.
“Toby, huh?” Robin raised her seductive red lips and chuckled. She calmly glanced at her two cards before setting them faced down on the table. “Well, I’m glad Toby is putting the skills I gave him into good use.”
Mimi’s actions paused for a moment. Her thumb rubbed the chip piece before she set it along with other ch.i.p.s in the center of the table.
“Then I must thank you for your help,” The gentler Mimi was, the colder the room became. She turned the two cards in her hand in the center and revealed an ace and a king.
A royal flush!
The men and women around the table gasped sharply and looked at the set in Mimi’s hands. When they looked at Robin, they could see her face was a ghostly white. She bit her bottom lip so hard she could taste her red lipstick and blood.
How…How did she win?!
The girl was only eighteen and yet she mastered a game of poker against her! Every facial expression and tick she had, Robin thought she read well. It turned out the girl was only playing with her!
Meanwhile, Mimi’s heart was singing!
Truth be told, during their free time, Tobias and Mimi would often play poker together. Although rather than betting money, they bet on…other things. From what she learned from Tobias, you must spot your opponent’s talent. Then without saying a word, you play the game based on their ticks, talents, and simple gestures. Not to mention, Mimi learned to control her expression from the best. The emotionless Tobias Itou.
“Two in a row. Looks like I’ve won the bet!” Mimi smiled brightly, not at all trying to hide her joy.
Looking at Mimi, Robin glared. Instead of taking the ch.i.p.s on the table, Mimi stood up and patted down her skirt before staring down at Robin with a cold smile.
“You should know what I want you to do, correct?” Mimi’s words were as sharp as her eyes. “I expect you to stay true to our deal.”
Turning her head, Mimi walked toward the door to leave the VIP room. Robin’s heart panicked and without thinking, she looked to the group of men besides her. Nodding their heads, the men walked to Mimi. Suddenly, feeling a pair of arms seize her, Mimi narrowed her gaze.
“What are you doing?” Mimi’s voice was steady, revealing no emotion.
Realizing what she had done, Robin quickly calmed her panicked heart and looked at Mimi resentfully. Walking up to her, she peered down at her with a sneer. “What about him could you ever understand? To let Tobias be with someone like you…I can’t allow it.”
“I don’t think that’s your call to make.” Mimi laughed softly.
Almost immediately, the glint in Robin’s eyes darkened. She suddenly smiled. Mimi narrowed her eyes at the woman’s expression.
“You’re right. But right now…it is my call to decide what happens to you.” After speaking, her eyes turned to the men holding Mimi’s arms. “She’s Tobias’s girlfriend…so be easy on her.”
The men’s lips curled into sneers, one licking his wet lips. Mimi was about scream to catch the people outside’s attention, when one of the men grabbed her, shoving her face into the sofa, pinning her there to muffle her shouts – nearly suffocating her.
She felt something cold against the back of her dress. A knife?
It was at this moment, Mimi’s mind cleared. Realizing what they were about to do, the light in her eyes flashed with anger.
Mimi was shameless on many things, but as a prideful individual, she could not and would never accept such exploitation upon her body.
Two hands slid down her sides and landed on her waist, just above the hem of her skirt. Mimi shivered in disgust, and for the first time, fear-filled her.
“Her skin is so soft.” A man snickered she recognized as Carl’s.
Mimi refused to give up as she tried to squirm away, kicking and thrashing as much as she could. The man pinning her down pushed her harder into the sofa. It seemed like he was trying to suffocate her unconscious. Thinking of a sudden idea, Mimi struggled for a few more seconds before allowing her body to go limp.
“Tsk, she’s unconscious! It’s no fun when you can’t hear them scream.” A man complained.
“No matter, she’ll wake up in the middle probably.”
Inwardly gritting her teeth, Mimi glanced up from the sofa and saw a glass bottle on the table. A glint flashed through her eyes. When she felt them ease their hold on her, assuming she was unconscious, she sprang to life.
With all her strength, she bit down on the hand holding her shoulder down until she tasted blood. When she felt another hand grab her, she turned and jabbed into his eyes. He screamed in pain and with this distraction, she grabbed the bottle on the table.
“Bitch!” Carl shouted before a bottle crashed against his head.
With this advantage, Mimi stood up from the sofa and ran toward the door. She could hear the men and the women, who watched on the side screaming along with Robin’s panicked shout.
“Grab her!”
Upon approaching the door, only then did Mimi realize it was locked. Her anger fueled. Breathing heavily, Mimi tried her best to look past the eyeball gunk she felt in her fingernails and the taste of blood in her mouth. She turned to the men approaching her and stuck out the broken bottle in her hands.
“Open the door!” Mimi ordered, her voice murderous but coming off slightly weak.
Robin frowned and looked down at the bottle in her hand. It was trembling. This was beyond her plans. She had only wanted to scare her as a warning and when things got too serious, she’d call the men off. But before she could, Mimi had already attacked two of the men and tried to escape.
If Mimi did escape, without a doubt she would tell Tobias what she did!
With this in mind, Robin bit her bottom lip. For now, she had to try to calm her down and explain herself.
“Listen, put the bottle down. I was just…” Robin began to speak when a loud bang suddenly interrupted her.
Mimi was also startled from the noise. Behind her, she heard the door bang violently. Noticing it was about to break down from the flying splinters and bending of wood, Mimi stepped back in alarm. It was at that moment the entire door collapsed on the floor.
Everyone in the room was in shock, but even more so when they saw the figure on the other side of the door.
“T-Tobias…” Robin mumbled his name with a tremor in her voice.
Mimi, on the other hand, wasn’t doing too well either. She watched those cold, emotionless eyes scan everyone until they fixed on her. Those eyes of his glanced down at the broken bottle in her hand then her appearance. Tobias’s complexion grew worse and worse, and the surrounding temperature dropped well below zero.
He looked at her with a face that said she understood clearly.
No one was going to escape alive tonight…
