Minus Skill: The Story of Four Nuisances… - Chapter 19
“Ahhahaha you lot are a bunch of blockheads too. Drinking what a Thief serves without a hint of doubt~ You people are a riot.”
Grinning from ear to ear, Tet looks down on us.
“Wh…at…”
Despite my efforts to ask back, my mouth barely moves, with my words barely making a whimper.
Tet notices my gaze and shakes the empty vial in his hand.
“Oh~ you mean this one? Of course, the one that I drank is the real poison-resist potion. The ones I handed to you were a little thing called Lime Toad’s Paralytic Poison. The colors are pretty similar dontcha think?”
–He says, as he flings the vial by the wayside.
Moving my head with the slight leeway that I had, I looked behind me. I can see Melina had collapsed to the ground as well. I couldn’t see Kokoru, but from the two empty vials rolling on the floor, I could guess that she drank it too.
“Now then~ If we’re gonna talk about what a thief would do in this situation, it’s been set in stone right from the get-go. Mister, I’ll be borrowing your hand for a sec.”
Tet took my hand and manipulated it to open my Status Window.
With that, the list of items appears and he scrolls through it.
“Although I said that, my storage is pretty loaded right now. Even though a Thief is good at nicking items, its carrying limit is the same as the other classes. I didn’t think I’d run into you guys here……..Ooh, this looks like a great find.”
Along with Tet’s monologuing, my potions, spare equipment and the like appeared out of nowhere, falling to the ground rolling.
Just then, I felt the faintest vibrations from the ground I had fallen down on.
Tet was absorbed in operating the status screen so he didn’t notice.
“That’s that for you mister~ Next up is the mage’s—”
Once Tet looked up, a mace resoundingly swung at his head.
“Ah!?”
Tet falls to the ground.
—He recovers quickly however without a gap in his movement and readies his knife facing towards his opponent.
A clear expression of agitation can be clearly seen on his face.
“Haha….. How can you move.”
“I don’t think I’ve told you yet.” Kokoru replies calmly, mace at the ready.
“I have the Paralysis Resistance – Large skill.”
I recall her having it. While I don’t remember seeing it in her status window, I did see her fight normally after being hit by a paralyzing arrow of the Yellow Goblin Archer.
“Hehe……what a nice skill you have there.”
Tet had a stiff expression as he says so.
“Just one more thing……..Why did I lose so much HP?”
“I’m Level 80 after all.”
“…80!?”
“I’m a priest, but I’m positive that my STR is higher than yours. Enlighten me on what you are going to do, Mr. Thief.”
I was lying face down, collapsed as I listened to Kokoru.
Somehow, I feel scared of Kokoru. She isn’t acting like her usual self.
“Do you want to battle me with your remaining HP?”
“Grr…..”
I can hear Tet’s exasperation.
From his perspective, he’d surely want to escape via using his class as a Thief blessed with a higher AGI than most classes, but with Kokoru guarding the one way out of the Safe Area, it was a huge hurdle.
Seconds later, the dry sound of a knife dropping to the floor reverberated.
“Ahhhh geez! I surrender times 20! Unfair! Foul Play!”
“I don’t want to be told that by you.”
Kokoru then starts chanting.
Chanting faster than anything I’ve ever seen.
Once she finished chanting, the sensation of light passed through my body, making me able to move in the process.
It’s a spell that cures status conditions.
“Ms. Melina, Sir Alvin, do you have any rope on you perhaps?”Kokoru says without turning her back.
“I’m going to tie this person up.”
