Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You! - Chapter 61
“Hua~”
An exhale of relief clashed against Eric Wu’s face. The tension on her face relaxed upon hearing his response. It could be that her question earlier was to seek confirmation over something. Whether that was true or not, the formidable aura she emitted earlier was now less intense.
Eric Wu examined the woman underneath him. He watched her eyes closed simultaneous to the curved at the corner of her lips. When she opened her eyes, they naturally oozed tenderness and calmness. A rarity if he considered her from before.
“I-” he heard her say, eyes were staring back at him, unwavering. Something had really changed, something captivating enough to make him wanted to remain in the position he was in.
“I think-” the way her delicate lips moved, it was a beautiful view, tempting enough to make him wished for more.
Eric Wu’s eyes were intimately watching the slightest facial movement of Bella Lim as if he was afraid to miss a single detail. His muscular frame was paralleled to Bella Lim’s slender body supported by only his hands that were pushing the soft mattress.
“I think-”
“Hmm,” he responded with his face getting lower and lower due to his weight that made his hands sunk further into the mattress.
“I think you’re too close,” her fruity voice echoed in his eardrums followed by a push on his shoulder. Then, abruptly, she rose from her lying position and leaned against the headboard. She pulled the blanket that sled away from her upper body.
Eric Wu chuckled as he found himself getting disappointed. Then, as if everything was just a playful venture, he sat on the chair and crossed his legs.
“Little pumpkin is worried about you,” he said as he lazily stretched his body. He noticed that the woman was staring at him, so he countered with a mere glance. Only to realize that little pumpkin was already in her embrace and Zayn had just finished his checked-up.
Ahh, was I spellbound by her to this extent? Eric Wu ruffled his hair as he rose from his seat.
“Zayn, meet me in my study room now,” he said and walked away without saying anything to Bella Lim.
Zayn Wu was startled. He packed his stuff and ran off to chase his Master that was leaving like a storm. When he was at the door, he took a final glance at Bella Lim and said, “You’re basically healed,”
Zayn Wu’s sounded unhappy, yet Bella Lim thought that he was amusing. He seemed to be the type that perceived people based on self-judgment. However, if he was tamed, he would become the most loyal retainer.
“Big sis, are you alright now?” little pumpkin said after he released himself from Bella Lim’s embrace.
“Yes,” Bella Lim said as she kissed his forehead to soothe the tension and worry on his face.
“Really okay?” little pumpkin asked. His big eyes were staring at his big sis as if telling her not to lie.
“Yes, besides it was nothing serious. It just that big sis received a big shock earlier,” Bella Lim turned towards the bedside table and poured herself a cup of water. She took a few sips before placing her glass on the table.
“Why did you faint big sis? I have asked big brother Eric, but he said you were just tired,” little pumpkin was curious. Bella Lim frowned.
“Hmm, let’s see. That’s because he-” she froze. A replay of the incident in the boat was playing inside her mind.
Oh my! How in the world did he forget about his question?
Bell Lim felt her whole body heated up as she bent her knees and buried her embarrassed face between her thɨġhs. It was really good that she only remembered the incident right now or else, she definitely couldn’t handle his presence earlier.
“Big sis?”
“He is right. Big sis fainted due to exhaustion,” she falsely admitted.
‘Sorry pumpkin, to recount what he asked is too difficult for big sis,’ she thought apologetically.
“Then, big sis, little pumpkin will let you rest,” little pumpkin was ready to climb down the bed when Bella Lim pulled him to her embrace again.
“No-no. Little pumpkin must accompany big sis. Let’s…,” she paused as her eyes widened upon seeing the number nine shown at the alarm clock on the bedside table. “… let’s sleep together tonight,” she continued in bewilderment. She clumsily helped little pumpkin to sleep beside her as she let her body rest as well.
How long was she unconscious? The question lingered inside her mind.
“Big sis, little pumpkin was really worried just now. Big brother Eric was also worried. We were all worried because big sis was unconscious for almost five hours,”
Five hours!!
Bella Lim kissed little pumpkin again as a thank for his unintentional help.
“Sorry,” she muttered as she held little pumpkin closed to her. Little pumpkin giggled as he snuggled further into the warmness of his big sister’s embrace. Being a fast sleeper, little pumpkin fell asleep not long after, leaving Bella Lim who was now widely awake.
The serene night was a perfect time for contemplation. Bella Lim recollected the lucid dream she experienced while being unconscious and all of a sudden, she felt a sharp pain in her forehead. Afraid that she would awaken little pumpkin, she rolled her body away from him and climbed down from the bed. She took a painkiller from inside the drawer of the bedside table and sat on the floor with her body leaned against the wall.
Why was she feeling a headache all of a sudden? Wasn’t she perfectly fine a moment ago? Bella Lim couldn’t put a finger on the sudden torture she was feeling. Thinking that taking medicine would definitely help to abate the pain, she redirected her thoughts towards the dream she had.
When she realized that the man who came out of the car resembled her father’s friend, the one who tried to sell her, she had a feeling that what she saw was her past life.
Still, what she had seen was a different story altogether. Now that she thought about it, maybe it was the side effect of being unconscious for too long. Moreover, didn’t Eric Wu admitted that he saved a young girl in Kastache many years ago? That was an affirmation that her memories were the truth.
Besides, who in the world was the 13th Master? Ridiculous!
“Agh!” Bella Lim ġrȯȧnėd. Her headache was not abated but more like it was trying to push her into insanity.
Bella Lim struggled as she took a look at little pumpkin, afraid that the sound she was making bothered his sleep. She managed a smile when she saw his unbothered self. Still, she thought that it was better for her to leave the room. So, Bella Lim crawled out of the room as getting up wasn’t an option.
Outside, she gritted her teeth to stand up. The wall was the only support she had to avoid falling to the floor. She didn’t know which room she had entered as she followed where the wall would lead her.
‘Painful!’ she wanted to scream but was unable to do so. Her eyes began to blur. It seemed that she would faint again. But, why? Where did this terrible headache come from? Bella Lim bit her lower lips until it bled. The taste of blood inside her mouth helped to clear her mind a little.
Bella Lim continued to walk when suddenly she felt her hand touched something cold; a doorknob. She gathered her strength to open the door, however, at this time around the pain she felt was like raging needles, endlessly poking every cell of her brain.
Bella Lim pushed the door open and let it go as soon as she stepped into the darkroom; collapsing in the instant.
‘Here would be fine,’ she thought as she began to growl in pain. Her body convulsed as she tried to fight the pain.
“Bella!”
“Bella, what happened?!”
Someone was holding her body. The familiar scent of him, of Eric.
“E-Eric,” she muttered in difficulty. Perhaps because it was him, she felt safe, no longer trying to go against the pain. The moment she let loose, she began to hallucinate.
A hallucination that little pumpkin wasn’t her real brother.
