Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You! - Chapter 65
“Hehehe, cousin Lu Fei, you will not regret this. They might look young, but they’re already thirty-five years old. Plus, it is noteworthy for you to know that they are fraternal twins,” Lu Tian took a seat next to Lu Fei, a desperate move that allowed him to promote the people on the presentation stage.
‘Noteworthy? What a shallow mindset,’ Lu Fei’s inner voice responded. He ignored the pesky man as he humored himself with a scene of him pummeling the chairman to a human roll inside his head. It was funny, how this man suddenly became a leech when all these while, he had always made the effort to avoid him. That only showed how far he was willing to go just to get what he wanted. Lu Fei believed that Lu Tian was willing to lick someone’s dirty shoes just to achieve his objective.
“Dr. Lu Fei,”
Lu Fei mentally erased the presence of the man beside him when he heard the sensual voice of Calmera echoed within the four walls of the mini-conference room. His eyes instantly focused on the slide projected on the screen. Something caught his eyes.
“Please pay attention to the screen. This was a project we did four years ago on subject D. A trauma patient…” the voice seemed to fade as Lu Fei’s gaze was transfixed on the image of subject D. It was a young girl with curly short black hair. Her overall face was showed except the blurred eyes. However, he could tell that she possessed blue-colored eyes.
“Our team led by my Mr. Bulton had successfully manufactured a drug that if taken together with a series of memories reconsolidation procedures, would be able to consolidate a new memory to a subject, wiping the old one without harming the whole-being of that particular subject,”
“Subject D, a trauma patient was a successful case,”
“It was a pity that subject D had been reported dead a year after she was released from our faculty,”
“Dr. Lu Fei, we could provide the list of materials to produce the drug as long as we are given a slot to N project,” Miss Calmera ended her presentation with a beautiful smile loomed on her face.
Lu Fei was furious. His cold face that was almost on par with Eric Wu’s cold face was showcased on his face. However, it was only for a second. What showed afterward was his usual elegant looking face.
“Impressive. For you to risk exposing that your subject was a human girl,” he mocked.
“Cousin, that isn’t against any ethics or law. This girl is a trauma patient, what they do was to help her live a life free from the torment,” Lu Tian was quick to counter.
“Worry not Dr. Lu, this project was supported by Kastache’s Ministry of Health. The subject was chosen after careful ȧssessment,” Miss Calmera explained.
“You two are from Kastache?” Lu Fei was surprised. When he saw her smiled in affirmation, he could almost see a halo above his head. He was enlightened. It seemed that he didn’t waste his time after all… Who would have known that the puppeteer and its puppets would reveal themselves much sooner?
“Dr. Lu, although they are from Kastache, they’ve been working in Romstall for as long as I could remember,” Lu Tian spoke to fill in the quietness that began to engulf the room.
“And how are you related to them?” Lu Fei immediately asked and caught the old man tensed posture when he asked the question.
Interesting. Lu Tian was the puppet.
“Sir Lu Tian is our mentor. We have learned a lot about neurology from him,” Lu Fei stared at Mr. Bulton who suddenly appeared next to Lu Tian. He scrunched his eyebrows, surprised at his ability to erase his presence. He knew this man was someone he needed to be careful with.
“So, Dr. Lu, did my presentation enough to woe you?” the smoky voice pulled Lu Fei’s attention to the woman who was coming towards him. The slit on her skirt revealed her tanned sėxy leg; a very seductive view. However, to Lu Fei, it was obviously a preplanned move of her.
“Miss Calmera, I’m impressed,” he gave her a charming smile and eyes that showed the success of her seduction. He saw the subtle looks she gave to the two men next to him.
‘Are they stupid?’ Lu Fei scorned as he was enjoying the scene unfolded in front of his very eyes.
“Dr. Lu Fei, about my request?” Lu Tian asked.
“Hmm, I’m very interested in the project you did. However, I need a copy of it to see if it is congruent with the mission of N project,” he answered, giving the vibe that he was seriously considering the option. Then, he took a Pendrive from his briefcase.
“Do you mind?” he asked as the corner of his lips slanted to another charming smile.
“This…” Miss Carmela was hesitant as she glanced at her twin.
“I see no problem with it,” Mr. Bulton responded as he took the pen drive from Lu Fei and gave it to Miss Carmela. A knowing look flickered in Lu Fei’s eyes, hidden by the spectacle he wore. It seemed that Mr. Bulton was the one who held the power to make the final decision among the three.
“Thank you. I’ll tell the chairman once I make my decision,” he said.
“No need. You can directly call me,” a card was shoved into Lu Fei’s hand, startling him who was enjoying the view of Carmela who once again, purposely showing her ȧssets to him. He glanced at Mr. Bulton and saw him glaring at him as if he would skin him alive if he took another peek on his twin.
“If there’s nothing else, I would like to take my leave. Oh and I’ll be absent for one week. I have another appointment outside of the country. Don’t call me for something that could be handled by the other doctors,” he took his briefcase and as always, ended his speech with his signature move.
“S-sure,” Lu Tian replied as he also rose from his chair, about to accompany Lu Fei.
“No need,” Lu Tian halted when the disapproval voice rang in his ears.
The three people inside the mini-conference room followed Lu Fei’s steps as he left the room, once he was gone from their sight. A heavy sigh left Lu Tian’s lips.
“Are you sure it’s okay to give him the file?” he asked as he rubbed his temple0.
“Hmm,” Mr. Bulton scoffed. “Cal, I see you showing your thɨġh and bȯȯbs again, I’ll send you back to Kastache!” he ignored Lu Tian as his attention was now on his sister.
“Err, but I enjoyed his expressions just now,” Miss Calmera pouted as she kept on whining at the mistreatment.
“Think about our mission, will you!” another angry tone was thrown to her. Sulking, she sat on one of the chairs with her back against her twin.
Seeing this Mr. Bulton harrumphed.
Lu Tian was confounded, totally lost in the fight between the twins.
“Err, guys… about what I said earlier…” he tried to get their attention again.
“Shut up! You don’t have to worry about anything. If you want the role of a clan leader, you only need to carry your task well. About the report, heh, that was just an old story, one that carried no meaning after her death,” Mr. Bulton spoke, evil glint was seen on his eyes, causing the old man to shiver.

“To the airport,” he said when the driver opened the door for him to enter. The driver gave an affirmative ‘Yes sir!’ before he rushed to the driver seat.
Lu Fei booked a flight on the spot to Azure. He whistled when the flight was confirmed. Then, he dialed Eric Wu’s number.
“Bro, schedule changed. Send someone to fetch me at the airport 5 PM sharp,” he told him while his other hand was holding a ŀȧptop on his ŀȧp.
“Sure,” a voice answered.
“Expect good and bad news,” Lu Fei’s eyes were fixed on the ŀȧptop as its pupils were dilated the more he read. His disembodied voice bothered the one who listened.
“What do you mean?” the voice replied.
“I’ll explain later, see you!” he ended the phone call when the driver interrupted their conversation to tell him about their arrival at Romstall International Airport.
Lu Fei had bought the earliest flight and now he was in war with the time. Like always, he didn’t want the elders in his clan to track him down, so he opted for public transport and mingled with the common folks. It was a success until now and he had no problem so far… except for the arduous process of checking in.
