Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You! - Chapter 73
Hillside Villa
Bella Lim was given the surprise of the night when Eric Wu explained that tomorrow they would visit Madam Olivia on her private island called Sinby Haven. His explanation answered all of her queries, but to know that the ‘we’ he referred to was her and little pumpkin was unbelievable.
Lu Fei who was still residing in the villa laughed when he saw Bella Lim’s flabbergasted look. He was already informed about the news before it reached her ears as to avoid him to expose Madam Olivia’s true identity.
He stared at Eric Wu who was sipping on the evening ċȯċktail while staring affectionately at Bella Lim. He wasn’t sure if Eric Wu realized it or not, but his adoration towards Bella Lim was too obvious. Perhaps, she was the only one who was blinded with the affection Eric Wu had been showing and giving. It was truly disappointing yet amusing synchronicity that made Lu Fei wanted to tease the oblivion pair.
“I wonder why Madam Olivia invited us to her sanctuary. If I’m not mistaken, this will only happen when Eric is being paired with another woman,” Lu Fei twirled the ċȯċktail glass in his hand, giving a shake to the dry martini inside it. He spoke so casually that both Eric Wu and Bella Lim thought that he was simply expressing his opinion.
“This is the harvesting month,” Eric Wu muttered and Lu Fei nodded in response.
“But what if she’s planning something again,” he said while taking a glance at Bella Lim who stared fixedly at the ocean view spread in front of her very eyes. At the moment, they were at the rooftop terrace of the villa, a place with a futuristic architectural design that encompassed floor to ceiling glass windows, boasting the best views of the ocean while also the perfect place to enjoy the sunset.
Little pumpkin was like usual, sitting next to Bella Lim while enjoying his evening milk, mingled perfectly among the three ȧduŀts.
Eric Wu noticed the gaze Lu Fei had on Bella Lim and the corner of his lips twitched. Honestly, he had his own suspicion, yet for some reason, he wasn’t against the idea. He only hoped that his mother wouldn’t recreate the weird thing she did in her previous attempt like teaching women how to seduce him.
However, if Bella Lim seduced him, would he be able to hold on?
Eric Wu almost choked on his own drink when the thought came to him. He got up from his chair, walked towards the glass wall and turned his body toward the inner area of the rooftop terrace. His fingers ran through his hair as he leaned against the glass wall. The thought earlier made him scared of the feeling he had towards Bella Lim; afraid that the day he couldn’t restrain himself would come sooner than he expected.
Eric Wu’s sudden and strange behaviors attracted the ȧduŀts’ attention.
“What are you thinking?” Lu Fei was the first to ask. Bella Lim didn’t say anything, but her mild stare implied similar intention.
“Nothing important,” Eric Wu replied, finishing the last drop of the ice-cold vesper inside his glass.
Bella Lim opened her lips about to ask something, but little pumpkin who was also enjoying the sunset with his favorite chocolate drink pulled the sleeve of her blouse as he rose his empty glass.
“Let me,” Lu Fei took little pumpkin’s glass as he also brought him towards the mini-bar inside the rooftop terrace. Bella Lim wanted to stop Lu Fei, but all of a sudden her body shuddered. She looked up and met Eric Wu’s intense eyes. For a while, they looked at each other, both drowned in their own thoughts.
“Is it really okay for me to attend Madam Olivia’s invitation to Sinby Haven?” she asked after the prolonged silence. Her gaze was lowered to Eric Wu’s ċhėst area, hoping that not staring at his eyes would calm her down.
“It is her request,” Eric Wu spoke. It was his normal voice, but Bella Lim thought that he was whispering right into her ears. Once again, she felt goosebumps and her heartbeat began to thump loudly.
“I actually plan to see D tomorrow. I want to ask him about my past,” she tried to change the topic to something serious. She was afraid that the hidden emotions she had toward Eric Wu would be revealed if she entertained her emotion for much longer.
At the same time, meeting D was indeed something she had thought about as part of her plan to recover her memories, but she was yet to think of the best way to approach the issue with him as she was afraid that even D was a lie. Still, she was certain that D would contribute to her memory recovery.
Eric Wu stared at Bella Lim, feeling a bit indignant. He walked toward her and sat on the empty chair beside her.
“Oh, and who is this man called D,” he said, sounding almost salty. “I’ve told you to take this week as a rest and you’ve agreed. Now, you want to meet a man?” he leaned against the chair while staring at the void with his cold eyes.
Bella Lim felt the coldness emanated from the man beside her. She froze, not knowing why his personality flipped to a hundred and eighty degrees. She pondered if his anger was due to his ȧssumption that she was taking things at her own hand, without consulting him first.
“D is the one who helped me settled down in Kastache. I thought he will be able to help,” she explained. Regardless, all she heard afterward was a scoff from Eric Wu. She thought her explanation wasn’t clear enough.
“Although my memory is hazy, I’m confident that he helped me settled down in Kastache. I thought that maybe he knew something,” she expressed her thought while hoping that Eric Wu would be able to understand her intention.
Eric Wu turned to his left, his cold gaze softened when it met with Bella Lim’s pair of blue eyes. “Bella, if we pursue something without taking a rest, we’ll put more pressure on ourselves. So, about this D, let me investigate him first before you meet him, which not tomorrow and definitely not alone. We’ll meet him together after I have enough understanding of this D of yours,” he said, a lot calmer now. Earlier, he was consumed by his jealousy toward the unknown man called D which clouded his rationality.
“I see,” Bella Lim smiled. It seemed that she had overthought about his reactions. It seemed that Eric Wu was just worried that she made a hasty decision to meet D. So, without suspecting anything she talked about D.
“D real name is Derolean. I couldn’t recall his family name. However, he is the owner of the GY boutique here in Azure. Based on my memories, we used to be classmates. He was the person I confide in when I wanted to run away from Kastache and started a new life with little pumpkin,” she took a deep breath, pausing before continuing her story. However, Eric Wu didn’t plan on listening more.
“I understand. He is a reliable man. Do you like him?” the man asked. When he heard her described D as someone she could confide in, it stirred the jealousy he bȧrėly able to suppress a while ago.
This woman, couldn’t she at least tine down her admiration of this man called D? and what actually this man’s status in her heart? Eric Wu was almost crazy thinking about these two questions.
Bella Lim being unaware of the chaos she unintentionally awoke inside the man sitting beside her, once again, gave a careless remark. “I like him,” she stated while nodding her head. Unless proven otherwise, she believed the friendship she had with D.
Eric Wu felt his body froze when he heard her affirming tone. “So you have someone you like huh?” he mumbled. “I thought…,” he chuckled as he rose from his seat. He couldn’t recognize the feeling he felt at the moment. The raging inferno that suddenly flared up when she spoke lovingly about another man.
“Although you trust this man, I want you to meet him after I make an investigation on him. Tomorrow, we’ll go to Sinby Haven to relax your mind. Is that clear?” he asked with his back against Bella Lim, pretending to bend down to take something on the table. His face wasn’t good for her to look at. He was burning with jealousy.
“Eric..,” Bella Lim called, wondering why he didn’t face her when talking as he usually did.
“Tonight make sure to rest early after you help little pumpkin packs his stuff. Don’t forget to include his swimming pant,” the man’s muscular body stood erect, his head was facing sideways but not on Bella Lim.
“Sure. Let me…,” fill your glass; was what she wanted to say but Eric Wu was already leaving, walking straight towards the elevator. She saw him changing direction as he approached Lu Fei and little pumpkin who were enjoying the orange hue of the ocean. They talked a little before he disappeared behind the closing door of the elevator.
Bella Lim swallowed her saliva. A pity, she didn’t see his face before she went to bed tonight. A heavy knot slowly developed in her ċhėst. Apart from not seeing his face, she felt that his behavior was unusual and it made her felt fear. Fear that he hated her because that was exactly the feeling she had when he talked to her without looking at her direction.
“You okay?” she heard Lu Fei’s voice coming from behind. She got up and turned around. Little pumpkin was smiling as he ran to her while pointing at the beautiful ocean view. “I’m okay,” she answered before paying attention to little pumpkin who was telling her about the beauty of the ocean’s views at night.
“What did you talk about with Eric earlier?” Lu Fei asked after they agreed that it was time to call it a night. Bella Lim held little pumpkin’s hand as they entered the elevator together. She took a deep breath before explaining about D.
“I see. Eric is right. You should tell him things like this for safety purposes,” Lu Fei spoke while silently amused over Eric Wu’s face earlier. ‘No wonder the despair,’ he thought. Now he was certain that Eric Wu had fallen in love with Bella Lim. However, Bella Lim who had long realized that she loved that man was now trying so hard not to show her affection for him, making the man confused and jealous over silly matter.
Lu Fei suddenly laughed.
“Big brother Lu Fei, your laugh is creepy,” little pumpkin commented as he inched closer to his big sister who also thought that the sudden laugh was indeed a bit weird, especially coming from Lu Fei who always looked calm.
“Little Ryan, big brother is not creepy, just excited for our upcoming vacation,” Lu Fei covered up as he touched the frame of his glasses. The talk about vacation made the little boy excited.
“Me too! Me too!” little pumpkin giggled. “Big sis, little pumpkin needs help with packing,” he said as soon as they stepped out of the elevator.
“Sure. Say goodnight to big brother Lu Fei,” Bella Lim smiled as she gave a slight bow to Lu Fei which Lu Fei responded in the same manner. After little pumpkin said his goodnight, Bella Lim followed him to his room to help him pack. At least, the busyness could make her forget about the cold treatment she received from Eric Wu earlier.
Outside, Lu Fei took out his phone, dialed a number and said, “I’m in. I’ll take care of little pumpkin,” he chuckled before ending the phone call.
‘Hopefully, this will clear their misunderstanding,’ he thought as he entered his bedroom.
