Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You! - Chapter 77
“There is no signal to make phone calls and no internet connection. Nothing… the doors of all the buildings are also locked. Where are we gonna stay?” Bella Lim’s eyes widened with exasperation.
“You accept the so-called punishment just like that?” Eric Wu asked. He found her acceptance of the current situation as weird. If the person in this situation wasn’t her, he or she would probably be panicking as they were talking.
Bella Lim nodded her head and smiled, no words to reply to his query. Instead, she asked him about their accommodation. “I need a bath, clean clothes and something to eat. Do you think Madam Olivia thought about it before leaving us here? Her plan would fail is she ignored these requirements,” she talked casually.
Eric Wu lifted an eyebrow. He thought about what she said for a while before coming to a full understanding. He let out a soft laugh, staring interestedly at the woman in front of him. Something was stirred inside him at her intelligence. For whatever reason, he found her extremely appealing.
All these while, most of the women he was introduced with were trying to look sėxy by revealing their skin, yet he found them unattractive.
But, what was the situation right now? Bella’s comment actually made him see her as the sėxiest woman ever! Holy, could someone tell him this beforehand so he could be ready?
Eric Wu frowned, trying to calm himself down.
‘Damnit!’ he internally cursed. At the same time, he scooped Bella Lim off the ground, hoping that this skinship was enough to tame his beastly side.
“Eric!” the lady screamed in shock. She stared at Eric Wu in disbelieve. How dare him?!
“So you already knew her plan all along? Then, allow me to make her wish come true. Bella, we’re going to have the whole day as our first date,” he declared with a laugh. His brown eyes stared deeply into her blue pairs of eyes.
Bella Lim bit her lower lip as she was really embarrassed. Never would she thought that Eric would take such a measure to tease her. She regretted trying to act cool when she found out about Madam Olivia’s plan because it only made Eric let go of his worry and acted however he wanted. Little did she know about the conflict he was facing inside.
She struggled in Eric Wu’s strong arm, however, the man was also fighting her effort. “Don’t struggle, you’ll get hurt. I’ll carry you to my mom’s living quarters. It’s far from here,” he said firmly as Bella Lim’s wasn’t trying to hold down her strength. Who would have known that there was powerful energy in her small body? Eric Wu facepalmed. He tried to flaunt his strength, but she made his attempt to almost fail. However, this was good, her fierce comeback was helping him subdued his beastly self.
Eric Wu lips curled to a smile as he thought that Bella Lim was truly a one of a kind woman! Who was she really? He was curious.
“What did you just say?” Bella Lim stopped her struggle as she stared at Eric Wu’s chin. The man lowered his gaze, providing a better view of his handsome face.
“Hmm, what?” he grinned as his feet moved, leaving the garden and heading towards the walkway between the two residential buildings.
“Eric, you better put me down!” Bella Lim struggled again. From what she noticed, Eric Wu knew what she was asking about but pretended to ignore it. Therefore, to get the answer she wanted, she knew she had to free herself first.
Bella Lim spectated her surroundings and noticed that they were now heading towards a gate hidden by the climbing and rambling red roses. This was her chance! She was confident that in order to open the gate, Eric Wu had to loosen his grips on her. She had to wait for the chance to happen!
“Madam Olivia is your mom?” he heard her asked. Eric Wu stared at her for quite sometimes then he walked to the gate and pushed it open. Bella Lim’s eyes followed his action and she gasped when she saw a cute cottage standing not far from where they were standing. She subconsciously walked forward and stopped right next to Eric Wu.
“Don’t do anything or today will not end well for you,” she warned and the man laughed in response.
“Bella,” he called for her.
Bella Lim turned to her right to face the man. Her entire body was on guard. She moved back to create a safe distance between them. Seeing her being cautious, Eric Wu couldn’t help but smile knowingly.
“I don’t want to hide things from you. Olivia is my mother,” he explained, walking towards her. However, the woman kept moving back.
“Stop moving or you’ll ruin the herbs behind you,” he said and Bella Lim instantly stopped. Eric Wu chuckled as he took her right hand and grasped it tightly.
“Let’s go. I’ll answer your question about my mom,” he said, pulling the surprised woman towards the cottage not far from them.
Bella Lim coughed as she glanced at her hand which now held tightly by Eric. She stared at his broad back and sighed, something she kept doing these past few days.
“Is Olivia really your mom?” she asked.
“Yes,” she heard him reply without hesitation. She exhaled again.
“I didn’t mean to hide it from you,” Eric Wu spoke and released Bella Lim’s hand once they reached the front door of the cottage. He squatted and lifted the rug, underneath was a small hidden compartment. He took the key that was kept inside. Before he unlocked the door, he looked at Bella Lim.
“Sorry,” he apologized and realized that his apology startled her before she shook her head. “It’s okay,” she replied.
“Is it really okay?” he asked again. No matter how tolerable she was, in the end, she was still being lied to.
Taking a deep breath, Bella Lim spoke. “It was my mistake to ȧssume that she was your godmother,” she smiled a forgiving smile. Truthfully, she was surprised and felt cheated, but she was the one who chose to believe Olivia as Eric’s godmother. Plus, she remembered Madam Olivia saying that she was indeed similar to a godmother. She should’ve known that she referred her as being Eric’s maternal mother.
Well, what was the difference? In the end, Madam Olivia was still someone related to Eric and she was still the same person who made them stranded in her own island. Bella Lim finally relaxed after she thought the whole thing through.
“Thanks, come in. This is my mom’s cottage. You can look around,” Eric Wu invited her into the small house once he saw the resolved on her face.
Bella Lim nodded and entered the cottage. Despite its small structure, the area inside was spacious as most of the furniture being used was muti-purposes. However, there was no sofa or couch in the living room. The only comfortable thing for them to sit on is the cushions in front of a 40-inch television. Furthermore, that was the only area with a carpet.
Bella Lim walked towards the carpeted area without further ado. Once her foot stepped on it, she exhaled. The floor without a carpet was cold to the touch. When she received enough heat, she continued her tour only to discover one serious problem…!
“Eric!” Bella Lim called in a frantic. Eric Wu who was in the kitchen ran to her with a worry expression.
“What happened?” he asked as he looked around, trying to see what made her scream in fear.
“There is only one room!” she said with a grim look on her face while pointing to the only door available inside the house.
Eric Wu blinked and a mischievous smile popped into his face. Seeing the smile, Bella’s eyes widened. “I’m taking the room and you the carpet!” she decided, looking smugly at Eric Wu.
