Chapter 1091: Claiming Skills (1)
“Well then… that took a lot less time than I thought it would.”
Sitting on the ground after exploring the land for the past couple of hours, the young man let out a faint sigh as he summed up what he’d done earlier.
“Now I understand why the kingdom planned on establishing a frontier village here back then.”
After parting ways with the man that kept an eye on his land while he was away, Valyr went ahead and brought up the plans he’d talked about with Julian in his mind, unleashing his perception to its fullest as he tried to imagine what went where.
Though the ideas they talked about would have no problems being implemented for the most part, there were still some things the young man noticed that he felt needed to be changed, especially after getting a closer look at the land itself.
“For one, I’ll have to find a better spot to establish a large residence of sorts for Ryvrthe and the others,” murmured Valyr to himself, making a note in his mind to change the layout he and Julian came up with later.
“Aside from that, I’ll have to move my personal residence to somewhere slightly away from the center,” continued the young man, scratching the back of his head as he mulled over the general layout once again. “Or do I just need to move the smithy somewhere else?”
“In any case, I definitely have a lot of work cut out for me.”
Feeling like he’d spent enough time mulling over what he planned to do with his new plot of land, Valyr went ahead and brought up his chat screen, sending Julian a few messages updating him on the situation.
A few minutes later, the man responded back to his messages, giving the young man a slightly different perspective on how he viewed the changes he came up with.
“Well, it’d be better if Julian stops by to check the land out in the future,” thought Valyr out loud, only to then tell Julian the same thoughts in his replies.
“From how he’s been helping me out on what feels like every step so far, I wouldn’t even be surprised if he knows a construction company that could construct all of the buildings I request for.”
“But then… there comes the problem of cost.” Valyr wryly smiled at these words, only to then shrug his shoulders soon after.
“Well, I could always forge a few weapons and sell it through the Blacksmith Guild,” said the young man to himself. “Considering what I’ve shown the directors back in the assembly hall, I wouldn’t be surprised if my identity causes the price of my weapons to soar even further.”
“Speaking of identity… I have [Thousand Polymorph] activated, right?” Briefly thinking back to his interaction with Jacques, Valyr let out a sigh of relief after making sure that he was currently in his Ylvar identity.
Feeling like he’d more or less done everything he did involving his new plot of land for the meantime, the young man soon pushed his current train of thought to the side as he pondered over what to do next.
“It’s still early.” Valyr looked up at the sky. “In fact, it’s not even noon yet.”
“Should I head to the Blacksmith Guild to pass the time?” asked the young man to himself, recalling that there were a lot of things waiting for him there.
Aside from talking with Julian regarding the proposals they’d pitched back in the recent War Forge Assembly, he also had to forge an arquebus for Noel, as well as upgrade his armor and weapons to match his current level.
Then again, even though such thoughts lingered in his mind, Valyr eventually decided against heading the Blacksmith Guild for the meantime.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Instead, he focused his mind on a train of thought that popped up just a few moments after he arrived at his plot of land.
“Now that I think about it, I haven’t claimed those skills from the inheritance yet,” muttered Valyr to himself, recalling the conversation he and Vaughn had back when he was still in the inheritance.
Being reminded of the ethereal state he was in after allowing his current train of thought to delve a bit deeper, it did not take long for the young man to come to a decision, opening up a rift to the inheritance not long after.
Whoosh!
Arriving at the vast plains surrounding the city ruins, Valyr took a brief moment to adjust himself to his surroundings before conjuring a rift, setting it to head straight to the heart of the Gates of Awakening.
Swoosh!
Feeling a hint of vertigo from having to go through two rifts in a row, the young man gave himself some time to adjust once more before heading straight to the Gates of Awakening’s counterpart of the Enlightenment Skill Pavilion.
“The Awakening Skill Pavilion.” With Vaughn basically giving all of the information needed for him to traverse the inheritance as if it were his own backyard, it only took a couple minutes for Valyr to arrive at the building he intended to go to.
“What creative naming sense.”
Briefly taking in the fact that the building looked similar to the skill pavilion back in the Gates of Enlightenment, Valyr faintly nodded to himself as he made his way to the building’s entrance.
Once there, the young man was then greeted by the sight of the barrier blocking the entrance disappearing before his very eyes, causing him to raise his eyebrow in slight curiosity.
Though, with a bit of thinking, Valyr eventually understood what was going on, prompting a smile to appear on his face as he made his way deeper into the Awakening Skill Pavilion. “Then again, it wouldn’t make sense for the owner of the inheritance to be hindered by the barriers.”
Arriving at the pavilion proper, the young man’s mouth immediately went agape as he noticed that the number of skills available within the pavilion were at least ten times greater than the ones available back in the Gates of Enlightenment’s skill pavilion.
Feeling his greed get the better of him, Valyr immediately took a bit of time to compose himself before proceeding to head straight for the skill he planned on obtaining.
“Found it.” Fortunately, with how both the Enlightenment Skill Pavilion and the Awakening Skill Pavilion had a similar layout, it did not take long for him to find the skill he was looking
for.
With that, he placed his hand on the corresponding skill crystal before pushing his perception into it, only to obtain a notification from the system not long after.
Ding!
