MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith - Chapter 1102: To the Frontlines
Chapter 1102: To the Frontlines
“And here I thought you’d take a bit longer.”
Waiting by one of the defense gates of the kingdom, both Wells and Edward donned their military uniforms as they greeted the young man coming to see them with a smile.
“Sorry, sorry,” replied Valyr back at Wells’ words, his expression showing genuine remorse for his actions. “Got a bit too immersed while forging at the guild.”
“In any case, your extended stay here wouldn’t cause too much of a problem, no?” asked the young man soon after, to which Edward shook his head in response.
“It won’t, but we’ll have to speed up our travel to the frontlines in exchange,” said Edward as The gave Valyr a brief explanation of what he meant.
“Though we told you we’ll only be staying in the kingdom for a week before leaving, in actuality, we’ve been given two weeks of rest away from the frontlines. We just factored in the amount of time we’ll take to come here and head back.”
Hearing those words as they left the defense gates, Valyr immediately understood. “So, you’re telling me that, if the two of you were fast enough, you could have extended your stay here for a few more days?”
“Pretty much.” Wells nodded in agreement, only to wryly smile soon after. “In fact, that’s also the reason why we plan on investing on long-range movement skills in the future. The movement skills we have right now are more suited for close-range combat.”
“I see,” replied the young man, briefly checking to see if [Thousand Polymorph] was still active after Julian reminded him.
Inwardly letting out a sigh of relief after that, the three continued to walk beyond the kingdom’s defense gates for a while before Valyr went ahead and put on his newly upgraded set of True Wyvern Armor.
Whoosh!
Immediately feeling the boost to his attributes the moment he wore the entire set, the young man had a satisfied smile on his face as he thought about how he was now wearing a set of armor made for a Rank 5 class holder.
Making sure that Sana was properly affixed to his back after that, Valyr went ahead and gave the two a nod, signaling to the two that they could now focus on traveling back to the frontlines.
Swoosh!
With how both Wells and Edward were firmly at Rank 3, it went without saying that the speed they could muster at their limit was already far beyond what was possible when riding on a horse.
However, when compared to someone like Valyr, who was not only at the peak of Rank 4, but also had over 500 stat points he could reallocate at any time, their speeds far paled in comparison.
Whoosh!
Giving the two of them a brief taste of his full speed, Valyr reallocated all of his Points of Aspiration into AGI before pushing all of his strength into his feet, causing him to turn into a streak of faint crimson light in front of both Edward and Wells’ eyes.
“Holy…” Seeing Valyr show off a speed that even they hadn’t seen in any of their superiors at the frontlines, the two of them immediately stopped in their tracks as their mouths went agape at the sight that unfolded.
Watching the young man return to where they were not even a moment later, the mouths of the two went even more agape than before, making Valyr laugh as he looked at their faces.
“Is it really that surprising?” he asked the two of them, only for them to nod profusely in response.
“We know you’re already at Rank 4,” replied Wells after some time. “We also know that you’ll be faster than us by a great margin.”
“But a speed like that is…” Edward continued where Wells left off, though he took a while to find the term he was looking for. “Well, it’s definitely beyond our expectations.”
Feeling great amusement from the reactions he’d gotten, Valyr decided to take it up a notch as he looked at the two with a playful smile. “Now, what if I told you that I could move even faster than that? Not only that, but I could bring you along for the ride?”
At those words, both Wells and Edward looked at him with both expectation and excitement, causing the young man to chuckle as he told them to take a step back.
Then, without hesitation, he released a great amount of Prime Azure Energy into his surroundings, which he swiftly manipulated to take on the form of an Azure Dragon.
“[Azure Dragon Movement Arts]…”
“[Flight of the Azure Dragon]!”
Whoosh!
Watching Valyr step on the head of the azure dragon, the two watched as the young man swiftly began to soar hundreds of meters into the air, causing them to be left at a complete loss for words.
After all, it was at that moment that they realized that there was a lot that they didn’t know about the young man, prompting them to briefly wonder if they were even with the same person they knew.
Though, such thoughts immediately disappeared from their minds the moment Valyr helped them onto the azure dragon, allowing them to swiftly zoom through the air at speeds that matched the top speed of supercars of the modern era.
Swoosh!Nôv(el)B\jnn
Allowing the strong winds to blow through their hair, Valyr went ahead and conjured a barrier of energy around the three of them after seeing both Wells and Edward try their best to hold onto the azure dragon.
Apologizing to the two after that, he then asked the two how far the frontlines were in relation to the kingdom.
Hearing that their part of the frontlines was situated about 2,000 kilometers away from the kingdom, the young man looked at the two of them with surprise, finding it difficult to wrap his head around the thought of the two running for over 600 kilometers a day on end. Though, with a bit of explanation on their part, the young man more or less understood how they were able to do it, prompting Valyr to inwardly ask himself how much distance he could travel in a day if he were in their position.
‘Considering how high my stats are, it won’t be a problem to cover double the distance they did in a day,’ thought the young man to himself.
‘If I also factor in the speed I pulled off just now, as well as took into consideration the large number of potions I have in my bracelet, the speed-boosting skills I have and force myself to run for the whole day… 3,500? 4,000 kilometers, perhaps?’
‘Man…’ Coming to that conclusion, Valyr briefly had a wry smile on his face. ‘That puts a lot of things into perspective. Only now do I realize how much stronger and faster I’ve gotten since
then.’
‘… It’s far, far higher than I thought where I’d end up at first, that’s for sure.’
After mulling over his thoughts for a bit more, the young man eventually spent his time
talking with the two as they continued traveling through the air, only to arrive at the frontlines around six hours later.
