MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith - Chapter 1131 Rise to Prominence
1131 Rise to Prominence
Darkness.
Complete and utter darkness.
Whoosh!
Just as Valyr was about to take a look at the notification he received out of nowhere, the young man was immediately transported to this darkness, causing him immense confusion.
After all, there was nothing he did within the past week that warranted him to be transported into darkness in the first place.
“Then again… there are some possibilities,” muttered Valyr to himself as he realized that he was actually moving through darkness at great speeds.
Faintly wondering where he’d arrive once the darkness around him disappeared, the young man first thought of the Shadow Plane. After all, he still had rewards from both the Saintess and the Overseer that he had yet to receive.
Another possibility that popped up in his mind was Vaughn, considering he’d asked the man to come up with a solution that allowed him to toggle the effects of the now Partial Mark of the Alltide on him.
Though, after mulling over it for a bit, he felt that it wasn’t that likely.
‘If I remember correctly, he’s still in a temporal realm,’ thought Valyr to himself, causing him to wonder whether Sellifer was the one calling for him.
However, just like Vaughn, he felt that it was unlikely. After all, to those two, he would usually be the one to take the initiative in contacting them.
With that, one last possibility remained in his mind, causing Valyr to slightly shudder in fear as he continued to zoom through the darkness.
“Surely, the Alltide wouldn’t have found me, right?” murmured the young man to himself, deciding to bring up the description of the mark the Alltide put on him because of it.
Seeing that he had indeed removed the tracking abilities of the mark when he infused it with his own energy back then, Valyr inwardly let out a sigh of relief, only for the confusion he felt earlier to return.
“If it’s not him… then who brought me here, exactly?” As this question left his mouth, it did not take long for part of the answer to reveal itself as Valyr left the darkness a minute or so later.
Whoosh!
Appearing in what seemed to be an extremely large combat field, Valyr found himself staring directly at the void of space above him.
Briefly glancing at the various stars and galaxies that surrounded the field he was on, the young man inwardly panicked for a bit after realizing he was within the void of space.
Though, that panic immediately disappeared once he noticed his ability to breathe hadn’t disappeared, prompting him to let out a wide sigh of relief as he shifted his gaze towards the field he was on.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Looking around for a bit, Valyr watched as the field gradually had more and more people appear on its surface, all of which had looks of confusion on their faces just like he did.
After a bit more watching, he began to notice that there were a couple people among those on the field that he somewhat recognized from the kingdom.
With that, it did not take much more for him to put two and two together, realizing that the entire combat field might have everyone in Veldanyr appear on it sooner or later.
‘At this point, I’m certain none of the ones I had in mind did any of this.’ As this thought came to mind, Valyr went ahead and took a look at the notification he’d received all of a sudden.
Or more specifically, notifications.
Ding!
[As 15 days remain before the end of Version 0.5d, the Apparatus has decided to hold a tournament for a select number of planets in preparation for the upcoming version.]
[This tournament shall allow the Apparatus to choose a specific number of talented individuals that would pave the path for the upcoming version.]
[For more information, please ask the Arbiter that shall be presiding and supervising over your tournament.]
“Well then… that doesn’t really answer much.” Reading through the notifications a couple of times, Valyr eventually let out a faint sigh as he shook his head. “Sure, I now know the reason why I’m in this place, but what’s the tournament for?”
“What’s the reason behind the Apparatus choosing individuals before the next version?” muttered the young man to himself, knowing that there was no point in mulling over it any further. “Just as I obtain an answer to one question, I receive more questions in return.”
“Wait… is that you, Valyr?” Just as the young man let out yet another sigh at the absurdity of the situation, a familiar voice called out for his name all of a sudden, prompting him to look at the direction of the voice.
Seeing that the one calling for him was none other than Julian, a look of relief and happiness appeared on the young man’s face as he moved closer to the man.
“Am I glad to see you here, Julian,” said Valyr, to which Julian nodded in agreement. “Have you seen anyone else nearby that you might know?”
“I have, but they’ve already met other people they know themselves,” replied Julian as he wryly smiled. “How about you? Have you found any other people you might perhaps know?”
“To be honest, you’re the first person I’ve seen that I’ve recognized so far,” said Valyr with a wry smile of his own. “Though, I don’t think it’ll take long to find… aha!”
Pushing his perception to the limit, Valyr soon noticed a few individuals that looked familiar to him. Informing Julian of their presence, the two went ahead and made their way to those people, only for Valyr to realize that they were more than just familiar.
“Edward! Wells!” Knowing that the two of them were still at the frontlines, Valyr was both confused and happy that the two appeared near where he was. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
“Elder Noel.” As for the old man near the two, the young man also greeted him. However, considering their relationship thus far, one couldn’t really say that the two of them were close.
“Valyr.” Ignoring the way Valyr greeted him, Noel nodded at the young man before giving the middle-aged man beside him a nod as well. “Julian.”
“Elder Noel.” Julian nodded back, inwardly letting out a sigh of relief as the five of them were more or less familiar with one another. “Do you perhaps have an idea as to what’s going on?”
“Honestly, I’m as clueless as all of you are,” said Noel in response, noticing that the four were looking at him. “The notifications I received before being transported here gave me a rough idea, but I still have a lot of questions to ask.”
Hearing that, Wells looked at Valyr and asked, “Did you also get notifications regarding a large tournament of some sort?”
“Yeah.” Valyr nodded in response. “Something about choosing specific individuals for something.”
Just as both Julian and Noel seemed to have something to say about the matter, a terrifying aura began to wash over everyone on the large combat field all of a sudden, causing everyone to look in the direction of the aura’s source.
With that, it did not take long for everyone on the field to take notice of a six-eyed man hovering high up in the air, donning what looked to be an embroidered white robe.
With the man’s dark violet hair tied up into a low ponytail, the man gave off both a chivalrous and charismatic air, prompting everyone to pay attention to his next words. “Greetings, beings of Veldanyr.”
“My name is Scho’doxa. As mentioned by the notifications you have received, I shall be the Arbiter presiding and supervising over your tournament.”
“Though I know the current situation has caused a lot of you to have a lot of questions in your mind, please save all of those burning questions for a later time.”
“For now, let me give all of you a brief explanation on the tournament known as the Rise to Prominence.”
