MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith - Chapter 1144 Proving Feats (1)
1144 Proving Feats (1)
“You wouldn’t be saying that for no reason.” Raising his eyebrow in response to Scho’doxa’s words, Valyr instantly understood what the man wanted him to do. “I’m guessing you want me to fight against it?”
“As I said, call it my curiosity wanting an answer to its questions.” In response to the question, the man’s smile widened, only for him to nod soon after. “But yes. That’s indeed the case.”
Having his hypothesis be confirmed outright, the young man let out a faint sigh before briefly glancing at the people below.
Thinking about how they were pushing themselves to the limits against the opponent they chose, Valyr went silent for a bit as he returned his gaze back to Scho’doxa.
With a faint amused smile on his lips, he then asked him, “What do I get in exchange if I agree?”
“A far better reward than the one I planned for the third round,” replied the man as if it were a matter of fact. “Of course, I’m talking about a reward whose worth is way beyond the reward I plan for those who complete the hardest difficulty.”
“Oh?” At that point, Valyr raised his eyebrow once more. “I’m assuming you’re doing this because you want to know if I’m truly eligible to enter the Galactic Eminence tournament of yours?”
“There’s that.” Feeling as if he were found out, Scho’doxa let out a wry chuckle as he nodded. “But most of it is due to my own curiosity.”
“After all, even though I know you killed a Myth-level being while you were still at Rank 3 through your title, I still want to know how you exactly did it.”
“Think of it as a request coming from Scho’doxa, the person,” the man continued. “Not as Scho’doxa, the Arbiter presiding over the Rise to Prominence tournament.”
“I don’t know.” As he listened to Scho’doxa’s words, a faint smile crept up on the edge of Valyr’s lips as he found it slightly amusing to tease the man. “How much better would the reward be compared to the one you’d give to those who clear the hardest difficulty?”
“As someone who automatically passed the third round, I’d also be able to get the latter, no?”
“Believe me when I say it’s far better than the reward I initially planned on giving,” replied Scho’doxa, seemingly having shed all pretenses as he allowed his curious side do all of the talking. “If you want, I could even give you the reward I planned on giving during the fourth round in advance,” continued the man, his tone now containing a hint of desperation.
Feeling as if he was talking to a different side of Scho’doxa at that very moment, the young man decided not to beat around the bush any longer, having already achieved what he wanted to happen. “Alright. However, you better be ready to rescue me when things go awry.”
“But of course.” Letting out a wide sigh of relief after hearing Valyr agree to his small challenge, Scho’doxa took in a deep breath as he nodded at his words. “It’s a challenge that I personally proposed, after all.”
“Then again, I can’t believe how you had me at the palm of your hand just now,” said the man, shaking his head at the thought as he wryly smiled.
Valyr could only let out a slight chuckle in response. “Don’t blame it on me. You’re the one who let his curiosity get the better of him.”
“Well, you’re not wrong.” Slightly taken aback by Valyr’s words, Scho’doxa could only let out a bitter chuckle at the end.
After talking about the small challenge for a bit more, both Scho’doxa and Valyr soon made their way to a part of the arena that looked awfully similar to the place where the other people were taking the third round.
However, unlike the latter, the place where the two arrived looked more like a massive room created to test out various ideas.
Arriving at the room, Valyr briefly glanced at Scho’doxa, who pointed at an area of the room that seemed to have been intentionally made for spectators.
Faintly nodding in response, the young man watched from afar as the man brought out a puppet that looked awfully similar to the one he brought out over a day ago.
Activating his identification skill on the puppet, Valyr glanced at Scho’doxa for a bit before asking, “When you said you had a puppet that’s two class ranks higher than me, do you mean that in terms of stats… or do you mean it’s literally two class ranks higher than me?”
“The latter,” clarified the man. “Think Armaments, Legacies, Concepts, and so on. The puppet I brought out has all of that.”
“…I see.” Receiving question marks from the system in response to his attempt at identifying the puppet’s stats, Valyr asked Scho’doxa if he could identify the puppet for him and show him its stats.
Slightly confused at first, the man eventually understood why the young man made such a request.
With that, he went ahead and used his own identification skill on the puppet, only to show its results to the young man not long after.

“The peak of Rank 6, huh…” Sucking in a breath of cold air as he finished reading through the puppet’s stats, Valyr immediately took in a few deep breaths to calm himself down.
Then, glancing at the puppet he was about to fight against, the young man’s expression gradually turned solemn as he reminded himself that his strength had grown by leaps and bounds compared to what it was back when he was at the peak of Rank 3.
Though his physical stats paled in comparison to the android’s stats, Valyr was confident that his strength was more than enough to take care of a peak Rank 6 puppet, especially if he were to go all out.
Feeling like he’d prepared himself the best he could for the fight, the young man glanced at Scho’doxa and gave him a nod, prompting the latter to start up the puppet in response.
Whoosh!
At the very moment Scho’doxa activated the puppet, it immediately identified Valyr as its target for training, causing it to have no hesitation in charging towards the young man at great speeds.
Although the puppet’s speed definitely surprised him at first, the young man forced himself to maintain composure, taking in deep breaths from time to time while keeping an eye on the puppet’s movements as best as he could.
Conjuring a strand of blue-white energy as he thought about the plan he’d formulated to subdue the puppet just now, Valyr went ahead and took out a weapon from his spatial bracelet, knowing that pulling any punches at this moment might just cost him his life.
After all, even though he was fighting against a puppet, it still had the strength of a bona fide peak Rank 6 being.
However, what he did not know… was that Scho’doxa recognized the weapon he was holding.
