Modern Demon System - Chapter 5

Bar La Peze, Andre didn’t know what those words were supposed to be meaning, but it was certainly an expensive bar or something like that. There were several horses and carriage parked in front of that place. The inside of the bar itself was filled with many different people in expensive clothing.

The moment Andre opened the door for Lily, his nose was filled with the smell of alcohol. Not stopping there, he stood silently once he saw the whole place. It was truly a majestic place, in her opinion, a bar was a place where people could drink or get a girlfriend, or something like that. But this place felt different.

People were sitting down in the couches of that place while sipping on their glasses which were filled with red wine or another expensive drink. There was nobody that looked like a drunkard there, everyone was drinking with manners. Andre wouldn’t find anyone that drunk vodka like water.

Lily stepped inside of the bar and the first person that greeted her was the waiter of the palace.

“Princess Liliana, it’s a pleasure to serve your majesty,” the waiter said.

“It certainly is, where is the other by the way?” Lily asked.

“They’re upstairs your majesty,” the waiter said.

“Thanks.” Lily turned her body in Andre’s direction. She opened her purse and gave her six golden coins. “Buy anything that you want. Butler isn’t allowed to come inside,” Lily said.

“Certainly, your majesty,” Andre said.

“Ok, see you,” Lily headed deeper into the bar and Andre left that establishment.

He walked into the bright street. The lamp posts shined the pavement of the city. Several people were walking around that city. Some of them were dressing as a servant, like Andre, while the others were commoners. There was a notification.

The notification bar disappeared from his eyes. Andre still had no idea on how to open the [Modern Daemonium System] menu itself. He had to find out or he would no be able to open the menu itself.

“SYSTEM OPEN!” Andre shouted as if he was giving a command to the system itself, but it was a dumb idea.

The system didn’t open, hell, the whole streets were looking at him and the waiter from the bar came out of the bar due to his loud noise. The waiter looked very angry. “Fuck off, will you?” he said.

“Sorry, sorry, hehe,” Andre just smiled from his idiocy.

He thought for a second. The system might be able to be opened by a basic thought. Why he didn’t think of that? Still, as a precaution, Andre walked away from the bar where Lily was partying. He walked into a dark alleyway, probably not his brightest idea, but it was certainly better than accidentally discharging his voice into the crowds.

The screen appeared in front of his eyes. It was blue in color and it was similar to a status screen that anyone would see in a game. However, it looked like that the screen wasn’t shining on the area surrounding it. It was still dark when he opened the system screen. He opened the [Shop] menu.

Every time Andre clicked the plus button, the gold added up and so did the amount of the credits. However, Andre wasn’t sure how much one credit worth in dollars. He hoped that it was similar in Dollar. With the decision, he converted three coins into 3,000 credits. The tree gold coins in his pocket disappeared and the menu changed.

He clicked the menu that caught most of his interest which was the [Weapon] menu. He clicked on it and a bunch of new menus appeared in front of his eyes.

Andre brought his Glock 17, but he certainly wanted to refill the ammunition of the said weaponry. He chose the [Refill Ammo] option and a new menu appeared in front of him.

Andre chose the yes button and a container appeared in front of him. It was floating and it was too unreal. Andre opened that container and three pistol magazines were placed on that container. Andre grabbed those magazines and put them inside of his jacket pocket. He closed the [Refill Ammo] menu since he had no reason to open it again.

He pressed the [Assault Rifle] menu

‘Damn, that’s expensive as hell,’ Andre thought as he closed the menu.

Andre replaced the empty magazine on his pistol with a new one. He put his pistol back into his pocket. He hoped that he didn’t have to use his weapon to defend himself. Still, even with a pistol, he wasn’t sure whether it would be enough to kill someone or not. His first experience with a pistol in another world wasn’t good.

Andre walked out of that dark alleyway. He put his hands inside of his pocket. He observed the whole city with his own eyes. Looking at the bar that was filled with adventurers and servants made him want to have a shot of alcohol. However, there wouldn’t be any option to go to the bar. If the princess wanted to go, he would have to go.

Suddenly, as he walked along the bars of the city, he saw many carriages coming over from the entrance of the city itself. Andre took a glance at those carriages. Many of them were wearing military attributes such as armor and emblem. Andre wondered what they were doing there,
