Modern Weapon Summoning System - Chapter 184
Del and Anna were in the coffee shop. They were buying coffee, of course. They waited for someone that wanted to come, someone important. Who was that important person? Well, it would be someone from the intelligence agencies, that was for sure, but which one?
It was not like Del had known every single member of the intelligence agencies. He only knew several key people which knew his existence and his ability. Other than that, he knew nothing.
“So, who’s going to meet us?” Del asked Anna.
“Our boss, one of our bosses, to be exact. Was it Mikhail? I think so. He wants to talk about something about our involvement with the Salve Group. Yup, that group that we signed the contract with, Salve Group.”
“The one which CEO is called Linda Blake?”
“Yup, that one. Why would Mikhail got involved though? I don’t recall him having any relation with that group,” Anna commented.
“That group is very tight with the intelligence agencies. Why do you think they recruit us in the first place? It’s just a test for us, to be honest. However, someone might be impatient and just decided to recruit us immediately using adequate force,” Del said.
“That might be the main reason why we are here, then.”
The coffee shop was different from the previous coffee shop. This was the coffee shop where our contact would be meeting with us. For some unknown reasons, he wanted to use this place.
Del had an idea that the workers on this coffee shop were actually the spy of the intelligence agencies. The base of that knowledge was quite simple as well. Those people didn’t have the look that they belonged in a coffee shop.
Some of the women in that shop looked more tired than usual employee and the servers weren’t exactly that behaved when they served their coffee. It was rather interesting, not because he could see their disguise, but because it was the spectrum in which the intelligence agencies were working in.
Outside of the coffee shop was snowing, it was snowing quite hard. It looked like the winter would be rather cold for this period. It might be possible that Sneggor became the coldest city Del had ever visited.
The temperature on this city would usually reach around minus forty at its worst. The fact that this city got an annual blizzard and its high elevation, no wonder if this city was cold, even in the middle of a summer. It was really some sort of place to stay in, but a good place to hide in.
“Anna, I want to ask something sensitive, do you mind?” Del asked.
“Sure, what is it?” Anna asked.
“Do you still want to nuke Eric or Elbanian?” Del asked.
Anna was calm. She didn’t give any reaction nor any emotion. She just sit still while sipping her coffee. “Eric, huh? Well, I am aware of this bandages covering my entire body, but still, Del, like our parents say, let’s just focus on saving one thing at a time, right?”
“So, I take that as a no.”
“Let’s just say I’ll be happy if he’s dead, but I don’t really mind if I’m not the one that kills him. Besides, let Reian and Elbanian fight against one another, Ilbistirum wouldn’t even give a damn about it.”
“Right…”
An old man went through the window, alongside with a woman following him from behind. The man was clearly Mikhail, and the woman was Linda. Even at first glance, it seemed that both of them knew each other.
Heck, it looked like those two people were working together for quite a very long time. Then again, the people from Earth arrived at this world a long time ago, way before Del arrived on this world or even way before he was born.
The two people sat down right next to Del and Anna, probably to make things way faster. It probably was. Linda put a piece of file on the table and Mikhail just crossed his arms. What was wrong? Or was there something in their mind.
Linda opened her mouth, “Good job, you two. It seems that the profile that you sent yesterday indicates that this girl is actually the person we are looking for.”
Del opened the file. As usual, there was the stamp from the intelligence agencies on the first page of the paper. Del opened the second page, and it was a profile of someone that he knew. The profile of the head of the student council.
Yup, that was the profile of Aveline Cordier. She was indeed a refugee evacuating to Sneggor for safety from the imperial military. Yeah, all of it matches, but the surprising thing wasn’t the amount of details on that file, but the other name that was put in that file.
[Name: Aveline Cordier/Aveline Elberian Dilluard]
“Hmm, so the rumor that them both are dating is true then,” Del nodded his head multiple times.
“Your school business is not really my business,” Linda commented.
“Sorry, ma’am.”
Comparing the first name and the last name suggested that Aveline did belong to the nobility. One of the signs that someone belonged to the nobility was how complex and wordy their name was. This time, Aveline wasn’t an exception.
“For a girl with secrets, she seems to be rather harmless,” Mikhail commented.
“Harmless? This is the same person that expects us to take down the whole prostitution ring, man.”
“Oh, I see. Well, if that’s the case, it seems that you want her to disappear. Do you need our favor to make her disappear, you know, as in disappearing from the school?”
“Woah, hold on a minute!” Del stopped Mikhail from continuing.
If the intelligence agencies decided to kill Aveline, she would be leaving the academy for good. It would also mean that there would be a power vacuum on the school and thus putting the security division of full authority until someone replaced her position.
On his perspective, it would also mean that Anna had more freedom on her action, but it would also make Daniel less approachable. Daniel would suspect something odd if Aveline suddenly disappeared, and worst of all, he could disappear as well.
“Why? I meant, she is the source of your problem, why not?”
“Yeah, but I’m not asking you to kill her. I just want the file, not taking her life. I don’t think killing him would be necessary, especially since Daniel and Bosch were actually related.”
“We already know that.”
“So why do you want to kill her then?”
“Who said we will kill her?” Linda giggled.
“Wait, you won’t?” Del scratched his head.
“We won’t, but we sure will hit her head with a pipe wrench just like you.”
“Then you’ll kill her. It will attract Daniel’s attention and it would jeopardize the investigation to Bosch,” Del added.
“Who said we will only kidnap her? Of course not, we will also kidnap the boy, too.”
“Daniel?”
Mikhail just nodded.
“I’m not sure. I meant, as far as I know, he’s not worth it. Yes, he is a part of medical volunteer and all, but it would be too much of a hassle to kidnap him. Besides, how will you get Bosch?”
“Dude appears on the radio every week. Killing him would be easy, getting his business closed will be hard,” Mikhail commented.
Well, that was quite a valid point. He never thought why he hadn’t been killed yet by a major terrorist group or something. It seemed that no one wanted to kill an angelic figure like him. Well, if he didn’t know better, he would also condone the killing after all.
“Ok, if that’s the case, sure. I don’t really mind, the only reason why I don’t want to kidnap or kill both of them is because I don’t know how to kill Bosch.”
“Don’t worry, Del. We will handle this, you’ve done enough for what you are. For now, I just wanted you to help the operational team in case they need assistance on the ground during the operation.”
“Assistance? What kind of assistance do they need? Do they need a distraction or something? Or do they need something out of the ordinary?” Del asked.
“I prefer the latter, if you can pull it off. However, I doubt you can pull the last one off. Just create some major rumors that would distract the whole school from their disappearance,” Mikhail said.
“I see. Well, I think I can pull that off. I think, if we make trouble or something similar, the disappearance should be masked well enough. Yeah, we’ll handle that, don’t worry about it. As long as the thing is clear, I will do it.”
“Great, I’ll send you the plan later. Right now, remember that your focus is on helping the operational team indirectly. When everything has begun to die down, that’s when I call you, got it?”
“Affirmative.”
“Alright, I’ll see you later, Del.. I’ll give you a call.”
