Monster Cultivation Supply Shop - Chapter 41
Aurus didn’t wait any longer and immediately raised his cultivation. It took around five minutes once again as he was completely surrounded by black goo. This time, however, it was quite smelly and Aurus could still not understand where it all came from.
Washing up afterwards, he felt a great increase in strength and felt great, just like how one would feel after a training session. Changing into new clothes, he looked at himself in the mirror and he had to say, he looked pretty good. “I’m not a narcissist, I’m just that good looking.” Saying this in the mirror he smiled relaxedly before leaving the bathroom with wet hair.
Going back down to the ground floor, at the shop, he noticed that it had slightly calmed down. As such, he sent back the three elves to the dungeon to sleep until morning.
Following such, the crowd of people continued to buy resources and Aurus continued to serve as many customers as possible. Although he was getting tired of working, he knew it would only be for a few days before everything came back to normal.
The next morning, he sent the three elves who had just woken up upstairs to go and eat with the two fairies making food. They took only around ten minutes before they came downstairs and relieved the two beastman and the other employee. He could see them yawning and the three had eyebags. As such, Aurus didn’t keep them and sent them to sleep.
An hour later, the rush started once again and even worse than the previous day. The people were waiting in line on the entire street. While the other shops were wondering why so many people lined up to go to this particular store, the restaurants opened businesses. They obviously profited from the high amount of Hunters in the surroundings to make a lot of money.
Seeing this increase in customers, Aurus went upstairs and asked Laia to come and help in the shop. As for his mother, he saw she was quietly looking at the old pictures of the family and he didn’t ask her for help. Although the healing card could heal physical injuries, it could do nothing for the few years she had lost.
He quickly explained the job Laia had to do in the shop and went back to the counter to continue collecting the money from Hunters unaffiliated to any families. He was also supposed to receive the first payment from the noble families for the resources he had sold the previous day. While the Hunters affiliated to the noble families didn’t have to pay any crystals, the amount was recorded and the nobles would have to come and pay for the resources in one batch each day or he would stop selling to them.
Obviously, the nobles wouldn’t do such a stupid thing. Not only would the resources increase their strength, but considering the beast tide coming, it was also the time to make a massive profit while strengthening their power.
For the next few hours, the customers didn’t decrease and Laia had sweat flowing down her forehead since she was running everywhere to get the resources needed by the Hunters with the small key he had lent her. As he saw her do that he remembered that the schools were closed due to the beast tide coming. Since the school was close to the city wall, it wasn’t completely safe and it had been closed until the threat was eliminated.
He thought for a little while and called Laia to come over. The Hunters seeing her coming to meet Aurus didn’t intercept her since they all knew that their boss attached great importance to Aurus.
“Laia, since the school is closed for the moment, do you think your four friends would be interested in coming to work in the shop for the day? I’ll give them a crystal as payment for their day’s work.” Aurus looked at her hopefully. Honestly, there were too many customers and not enough employees in the shop at the moment.
While Aurus felt cheap offering them a single crystal each for their day’s work considering the number of crystals he would get that day, he also knew that a crystal was worth a lot and was more than what normal civilians did in a month’s time.
Hearing Aurus saying this, Laia’s eyes lit up. It wasn’t every day that she could work with her friends. “I’ll immediately go and get them. I’m sure they’ll say yes since they should have nothing else to do.” Saying so, she left her key to Aurus and ran out of the shop as if escaping from a dangerous monster.
Grinning slightly at her reaction, Aurus went back to work and half an hour later, the four butlers who had previously asked Aurus for help came to the shop with countless chests full of crystals.
Not wasting too much time on it, he merely brought them behind the counter and the system counted the number of crystals in each chest before confirming the amount due and the amount in the chests.
Hearing the positive reply from the system who wouldn’t accept a single less crystal, he nodded to the four butlers. However, just as they were about to leave, Aurus coughed slightly and attracted their attention.
“On the other side of that door.” While pointing at the door at the right of the entrance. “There is an ‘attraction’ which can increase the energy in Hunters and their contracted beasts while getting used to their new combat strength. Although there is a price to pay, it is actually quite cheap. If you go through that door, you will see the rules on top of the entrance. Feel free to take a look.” When he finished talking to them, he turned to the other customers and started to collect the crystals once again.
A few hours earlier, he had received a message from Amuna saying that the dungeon was prepared for up to the third stage of the silver rank. Considering the time it took her to set up everything, he understood that he simply had no talent in this field. After all, he had taken more than a week to simply create the first few floors.
The four butlers hearing his words went to the door with interest and brought a few Hunters with them. After all, Aurus had mentioned that this was an attraction for Hunters and it wouldn’t make sense for them to go and explore this new attraction in the shop.
While the butlers were testing the new functions of his shop, Aurus saw Laia coming back while running with her four friends behind her. After they entered the shop, Aurus took some time to explain their role in the shop during the day.
“Your job is pretty simple. With this key here, you just have to collect whatever resources the customers need.” Saying so, he showed them the key and they nodded quickly as they understood their job which was indeed pretty simple.
“After you give them the resources, send them to the counter and I’ll take care of the rest.” Finishing his rapid explanation, he went back to the counter while Laia brought her friends to show them how it worked.
With the help of the four new girls, it helped to ease the pressure and seeing this, Aurus sent one of the three remaining original employees back to sleep. He would need their help during the night and having one more employee would be pretty useful.
At this point, Aurus could also feel his eyelids start to lower as he yawned from tiredness. While his constitution was better than normal people thanks to his cultivation, he still needed to sleep.
As he sent the employee back to the dungeon to sleep, the pressure once again escalated but it was pretty fine. This continued for the following two days.
In the night the employees would change and there would be four employees and during the day, there would be seven employees excluding himself. The four friends of his sister, his sister and the two original employees.
During these two days, the four friends of Laia came back due to the high salary and it seemed that they indeed liked to work in the shop as it allowed them to understand the different monster cultivation resources. Such resources were rare in the outside world and having the chance to work with so much of them gave them a lot of training and knowledge. This knowledge was obviously not of the resources as they didn’t come from this world but it was about the different beasts and what kind of elements they had.
In those two days, he also destroyed two dungeons in the other world and bought a lot more resources. With this, he would be able to rank up to B rank but to do so, he needed to go to the capital to go through a test. Unfortunately, the small town he had been staying at for a while only had a C rank adventurer which meant they couldn’t evaluate B rank adventurers. However, it was fine to leave since there was only a single dungeon left in the surroundings of which the adventurers were attacking day and night.
Except for that, the dungeon became extremely popular extremely rapidly as the Hunters all saw a method to improve themselves quickly. Moreover, it was certainly less boring than having to extract and use the energy from the crystals.
With this, the first movement of the beast tide appeared and the scouts of the first wave of beast started to appear near the walls of the city. It was finally time for Aurus to rank up to silver rank.
