Monster Cultivation Supply Shop - Chapter 42
Due to the arrival of the scouts, the business slowed greatly. The Hunters were busy fighting the beasts near the city wall. As such, the friends of Laia and Laia herself stopped helping in the store and Aurus had the six employees rotate between day and night. For the moment, he would keep the store open as he had previously promised it. However, from the moment the beast tide stopped, the store would close at night or he would just get more employees or something.
Since there were fewer customers, Aurus didn’t need to help at the store anymore. As such, he planned on going out to rank up to silver rank. However, before that, he went to the dungeon to see Amuna.
He wanted to go and see if the dungeon was doing well but more importantly, he just loved the conversation with her. But yeah, he went there to get news about the dungeon.
In the few days she had been here, there had been a lot of changes to the dungeon. There was a single stairway that went down in a spiral and at regular intervals, there was a giant door that would allow the Hunter to enter the floor.
The lower the floor, the stronger the monsters and the more energy they would get from killing a monster. However, the price also went up appropriately. In front of each floor was a single board with information about the rules, the type of monsters, the price and the cultivation level recommended.
As for how Amuna was collecting the money, there was a small hole right next to the door and to have the gate open, they needed to drop the crystals in the small hole. As for what would happen if they were in a party, the number of crystals would increase appropriately and wouldn’t open until every member had paid up.
Currently, she had created the dungeon floor up to gold rank stage 3 which showed a great increase in the number of floors compared to when Aurus had been taking care of it.
Arriving at the master floor of the dungeon, Aurus saw Amuna watering her multicoloured flowers around her house. This scene reminded Aurus of the first time they met which made him smile happily.
His laugh disturbed Amuna who turned around and a smile appeared on her face as she saw Aurus approaching.
“Aurus, you came. Is there anything I can do for you?” She smiled shyly at Aurus who was approaching her.
“Oh, I came here to hear about the progress of the dungeon and see you at the same time.” He answered calmly.
“Huh? Can’t you see the progress of the dungeon through your superpower?” She asked a question and Aurus didn’t know how to answer for a moment.
The employees of the shop were all aware of some power which allowed Aurus to go to another world. However, they all thought it was only some sort of skill and they obviously wouldn’t think that he had a system. After all, which person would think that a certain person had a system due to being able to do miracles?
“Yes, I could. However, it’s better to hear your thoughts about the dungeon and what your plans are for the dungeon’s future.”
“Oh, I see. Well, I’ll just continue to create more floors as you asked of me. However, it would be necessary to soon get more dungeon cores as the amount of energy necessary to create a floor is constantly increasing. As for after, I don’t have any plans yet. I was planning on listening to you since you are the true owner of the dungeon.” She turned around and continued to water the flowers as she spoke to him with a bright smile.
“Oh, I see. Well keep up the good work and do tell me if you need anything else. As for the dungeon cores, I’ll get more as soon as I can.” Aurus answered her while turning around to leave the dungeon. He had been planning to talk to her more but considering she was busy he didn’t want to bother her.
“Oh right! The dungeons’ cores have different levels. The dungeons you have subjugated up until now were only level one dungeon. The cores for such dungeons honestly doesn’t help this dungeon core evolve. I would recommend you to try to get the dungeon core of the second level and above.” She reminded Aurus as he was leaving since the cores he brought back these days weren’t helping very much. As such, she figured he might want to use them for something else.
Hearing her, he nodded his head and waved at her before teleporting out of the dungeon. It was now time to go and get promoted. With Zaya and Attra, the name given to his small dragon, he left the shop and went towards the city walls.
Compared to the normal busyness of the city, it was now quite calm as there were almost no civilians outdoors and only Hunters were moving in the city. They were either patrolling in case a monster had managed to infiltrate the city or they were going to their various posts.
Aurus however didn’t bother about it as he currently had only one goal which was to manage to promote to silver rank. Moreover, it should be easy considering his own strength and the strength of Zaya. As for the baby dragon, he honestly didn’t know if it was strong in its current form or if he would only be strong in the future.
Aurus walked in the city and many Hunters who had previously been to his shop stopped to salute him before going back on their way. Along with the salute of the various Hunters, Aurus understood that the four noble families had instructed them to be nice to him. After all, they didn’t want to offend him.
However, honestly, while Aurus understood that this was the reason why they were so polite to him, it wouldn’t matter if they ignored him. After all, he was a shopkeeper and as long as they had crystals and weren’t banned he would sell to them. He wasn’t someone who would get offended just because you walked in the same street as him. He wasn’t an arrogant main character of a cultivation novel.
While it was indeed true that he had good luck, which made him sometimes doubt whether he was the main character of a novel, he never considered himself better than anyone else and he thought that being arrogant just to be arrogant was plain stupid. What was the point at looking down at people and making them angry for nothing? Might as well have a good attitude and not create enemies everywhere. This way he would have fewer problems and wouldn’t have to be scared at being back-stabbed at all times.
While he was thinking about these interesting but useless things, he arrived at the city wall. Going to the stairs, he walked up the wall and looked on the other side.
There were currently around two hundred Hunters stationed on top of the north city wall. The beast tide was coming from this direction, so the city would obviously station more Hunters on this side of the wall.
When Aurus looked down on the other side, he could see a few dozen beasts lurking near the wall. Those were most likely the beasts scout. The first wave of the beast tide was believed to arrive a day later and the scout had already started to gather information.
There were currently some Hunters outside of the walls cleaning the few beasts around the city. After all, killing one beast earlier was one monster less that would be in the coming beast wave,
Aurus looked around. He was currently looking for a silver rank beast to kill in order to rank up. After a dozen of minutes, Aurus found his target. Unfortunately, most scout beasts were of iron rank or bronze rank. As such, it wasn’t easy to find a target.
Seeing his target, Aurus was excited as he leaped down the city walls and with Zaya and Attra following behind, he ran towards where the beast was hiding. It was a Waved Fanged Leopard. These kinds of beasts normally lived deep in the forest. They had waved teeth which were described in their name. Their eyes were always grey coloured and its fur was completely brown. It had long sharp claws and with the strength of the leopard, it could cut down a strong tree with only a swipe of its claws.
While watching the leopard, the leopard was also watching him and it was ready to pounce on Aurus at a moment’s notice. With Zaya and Attra by its side, Aurus took out his sword and prepared for the next fight. He could tell that this beast was extremely strong but along with his contracted beasts, there should be no problem.
After all, both Zaya and himself had been fighting in dungeons every day and Attra had the blood of a dragon, she couldn’t actually be weak right? It was a dragon!
