Monster Farmer In A Different World - Chapter 6 First Sale
A bright blue glow with tendrils of electricity envelops Alten, the tractor he is sitting in, and the trailer connected to the tractor. Then, with a flash of blue light, all three disappear, leaving a blue wisp of smoke lingering in the air…
Only to reappear suddenly in the yard in front of the other world farmhouse in a flash of blue light.
“I’m back!”
Thak, who was sitting in a chair on the porch of the farmhouse while sipping some Longjing tea was shocked!
“Pfffttt!! What the hell is that thing?!!” Thak yelled.
“Heh heh, this is a John Deere 8R Series tractor with 435 HP of pure power. And this thing that’s connected to the tractor is a Joskin Trans-Space 8000 trailer, with 20,000 kg of feed for the farm!”
Alten beamed and explained with an aura full of pride while Thak stared at the machinery in shock and awe.
“Right, I should fill up the silo.” Alten turned on the engine.
“Wait, Alten. There’s an easy way to do that. According to the old story that I heard, you can just use the menu function to magically fill up the silo. Try it.”
“Ah! Ok. Menu!”

Alten then touch the Never-Ending Silo to activate it, and a magical hand with finger pointer appear in a flash and floats in the air. Alten points at the trailer and the magical pointer floats toward the trailer before it disappear in a flash of light. The trailer starts shaking, and Alten saw the Feed status in the AR menu go up from 0, 1, 2, 3…. 20, 21 at an ever increasing rate. When the number reach 20,000 after half a minute it stopped while the trailer also stopped shaking.
“This is so convenient! Ah, by the way Thak, it seems that the eggs has hatched into chicks!”
“Ohohohoho, well then lets go and take a look at them shall we?”
They quickly walked towards the air monster pen in eager anticipation. Once there, Alten saw 3 purple featherless chicks chirping inside the nest with pieces of broken purple egg shells strewn all over the floor.
“Woah, they’re so cute!”
“Ohohoho. Why don’t you activate the menu Never-Ending Silo and feed them some food?”
“Un!”
Alten activated the menu and took out 3 clumps of feed and fed 1 to each of the chicks which devoured it greedily. Then all the chicks quietened for a minute and looked solemnly at Alten, gave a few happy chirp and went to sleep.
“So cute! Hmmm, do I need to feed them water?”
“Ohohoho. They’re monsters, all they need is food, sunlight and time to grow. Just remember to keep feeding them twice a day and clean their pen and they’ll be fine.”
They went back to the farmhouse to have a casual conversation while drinking tea. Alten then broached the subject on capturing monsters using the MoCap Ball before having their lunch later. Later during mid-afternoon Alten went out to check on the chicks and feed them more of the Cargill protein feed, which the chicks gratefully accepted. After seeing the chicks play for a bit before going to sleep in their nest, Alten went back to the house to have more conversation with Thak regarding best place to capture monster around the farm while drinking more Longjing tea. Their conversation went on until evening where Thak prepared a simple dinner which they ate heartily, before going out to the porch to stargaze while drinking more tea. After a while they bid each other good night before heading of to sleep.
The process continued exactly the same everyday until the 5th day when Alten went out one morning to feed the chicks and found that the chicks are fully feathered and were flying about inside the pen. When Alten neared the pen’s fence, the chicks stopped flying and stood in a row in front of Alten and chirped for a bit and flapped their wings, as if to say good morning.
Surprised, Alten remark ‘clever little birdies!’
Smiling, Alten gently scratched each of the chicks head, before feeding them.
“Menu!”

Alten took out 3 feed from the silo and fed the chicks which they ate gratefully. Alten lounged about near the pen watching the chicks while they fly about playing tag. Amused by their antics, Alten went back to the farmhouse after the chicks got tired and went to sleep inside the nest.
2 days later, Chunyang came back. It was early in the afternoon when both alten and Thak saw his wagon moving down the road into the yard while they were sipping some Longjing tea at the porch. When the wagon finally stopped in front of the porch, Chunyang smiled, waved and greeted them.
‘hello Thak, Alten! I’m here to buy the Psychic Sparrow. It should have matured enough to sell to an owner.’
‘Ohohohoh, you’re right on time, as usual. Well you fellas go ahead while I prepare tea for everyone’ said Thak with a smile before heading into the kitchen.
‘Right, lets go take a look at the Psychic Sparrow’ Alten said enthusiastically.
They walked towards the Psychic Sparrow pen where Chunyang was surprised at the quality of the Psychic Sparrow.
“These… these are high grade Psychic Sparrow! Wow! You’re really good at this!”
“Heh heh, thanks” said Alten proudly with a huge grin.
“Right! I’ll take them and as a bonus I’ll pay 6 gold each instead of 5” Chunyang exclaimed while passing 3 MoCap Pearls to Alten.
“Wow, thanks! Menu.”

Alten then drag and drop the Psychic Sparrow from the menu onto the MoCap Pearl and the mature birds are magically transferred one by one in a flash of golden light. He then picked up the MoCap Pearl and passed it to Chunyang who gave a pouch filled with 18 gold coins in return.
‘Thanks very much’ said Alten as they walk back towards the farmhouse.
“Great doing business with you! Also, here’s another gift.”
Chunyang hands Alten a piece of parchment. On it is a picture of a rabbit with a crystal on it’s forehead and some notes written on the parchment.
Ding! *Monster Added*
Name: Horned Rabbit (Small)
Type : Land
HP : 18
MP : 3
Skill : Stabby McStab
Notes : These brown colored, cute little buggers looks like your normal run of the mill rabbit except for a few difference – they have a crystal horn the length of a dagger on their forehead which they use to stab their opponents, they’re aggressive as hell, and they don’t breed as fast as a normal rabbit due to the first two reasons! Living in small groups in burrows made of stone with which they use to sharpen their horns, any living creatures in their sight that they perceive as a threat will be riddled with dagger-holes. Their meat are very delicious and their crystal horn are usually turned into daggers used by nobles or ground into powder for magical reagents. Warning – not safe for children!
Habitat: Lives in burrows made out of stone.
Food: Eats any kind of grain.
Price: 15 Gold
“Whoa! Cool! But… aren’t these things kinda dangerous?” worried Alten.
“Oh no, don’t worry about it. You still have the Pokeball, errrr, I mean MoCap Pearl I gave you last time right? Nevermind, here’s a few more, on the house. The trick to capturing them is… although they can run as fast as a normal rabbit, they can’t jump! Wahahahaha! So all you have to do is just stand on a small hill or rock, get their attention and when they run at you and try their best to jump and fail, you just capture them easily with the MoCap Pearl!”
“Ah! So it’s like that…”
