“Woah!”
I shook my head around to get a wrap on the situation. There were a LOT of notifications, and most of them seemed very pleasant.
Heck! I think all of them were pleasing!
‘No! No! Not all are pleasing!’
I’ve ended up offending some unknown people, and they weren’t being called ‘Unknown’. Rather, they were called ‘Unfathomable’ basically meaning they were far above my leagues to even be unknown to me.
‘But most of them are fine!’
I had gained levels after what felt like ages. Not to mention that Eclipse, my main weapon, which never seemed to level up even after ages, had finally upgraded to ‘Uncommon’. Of course, it was still a low rank, but considering how powerful Eclipse was at the Normal rating, the Uncommon rating can’t be taken as a joke!
‘That MEXP thing? Aren’t those Mega Experience Points?’
Apparently, the developers were too lazy to write down big numbers after a certain point in the game, so they turned a billion EXP into one MEXP.
(A/N: Looks Away.)
In addition to gaining levels, I had gained over 120 additional stats since I had six basic stats. It was like gaining 12 levels! It was totally worth slaying the grotesque king!
Everyone else had benefited a lot too, and Jane became the third in total contributions just by casting a support skill on me!
‘Supporters have it both hard and easy sometimes, huh.’
It was extremely tedious and tiring to level up a supporting class. But they had other benefits, such as gaining assists per kill just by casting support buffs on the DPS (Damage Per Second) players and Tanks.
As such, it wouldn’t even be a surprise if sometimes support players rank first in the overall contribution of a raid, even without actually touching the enemy.
‘Plus, the holy magic support players are the bane of evil-type mobs.’
If a healer or supporter associated with any of the righteous churches casts healing magic on enemies like the devils/demons/or dark-type mobs, they will deal a great amount of damage.
Apart from that, I got 90 medium-quality mana stones! That was 9 million coins and $900,000 dollars.
That too, just by killing a single monster!
‘Mayhem is awesome! Mayhem is purr-fect!’
I totally ignored the fact that it took seven high-class players and NPCs to take down the said monster. That alone was able to tell why low-level players barely made any money.
Unlike other games, Mayhem had the policy of a single player not being able to contend with a monster of the same level as him. Mayhem was stingy, and it took millions of experience points just to level up.
So being able to reach where I was in a matter of two months was awesome.
‘…..But Able reached level 200 even before me…even though he got the legendary class after me…’
I felt a bit ashamed, but my thick skin covered me up well.
All in all, this turned out to be a very successful event for me and the others.
“Thank you, Shura!”
Elexis said gratefully, bowing her head a bit.
What’s with her? Oh right…
I just remembered she was half Japanese, and Japanese people showed their gratitude by bowing.
I bowed back to her slightly.
“But why are you even thanking me? We all killed it together.”
I stated the obvious. This raid wouldn’t have been possible without them. Even if I had used my rebirth after death, it was highly likely I’d have still died if not for everyone’s help.
Especially Jane’s crazy buff that matched well with Eclipse’s passive.
“No, thanks to you, I have advanced to a hidden special class.”
Elexis said gratefully, and I looked at her dumbfoundedly.
“What?!”
“I’ve advanced to a hidd—-”
“I heard it the first time….”
“Oh? Then why are you asking again—”
“Never mind that? What class is it? How the hell did you gain it?”
I asked in surprise. How was this possible? Were hidden classes easy to gain nowadays? I think not!
Elexis then started explaining to me that the player with the highest contribution in slaying the Wretched Spawn for the first time was supposed to get this class, but I already had a hidden class of the legendary rating, the class was then promptly passed on to the person with the second highest contribution.
“Well, that is very good. I am truly glad you got something out of it. But I wonder what class it is? I mean, I don’t wanna probe if you don’t want to answer.”
I asked curiously. I was kind of surprised that I didn’t feel jealous of her even after knowing that she had gotten what I was supposed to get.
‘Maybe it’s because I already have a legendary class?’
Or maybe I had just grown. I didn’t know which was true, but I most certainly wished for some growth, both in reality and in Mayhem.
“Nah, it is fine. I got this class thanks to you, and I have no reason to hide it.”
Elexis shook her head and shared her class information tab with me.
[Class: Evil Slayer (Special)
*A high resistance to status conditions!
*Righteous NPCs will see you favourably!
*A status just below a legend! Gain a three-second damage immune from all kinds of damage unconditionally when HP drops below 10%. Cooldown: 24 hours.
*Your growth is imminent! Your stories will spread far and wide! You have unlocked the special stat Karma! The more good deeds you do, the higher the chances of them coming back to you in some form!]
There was a lot more information, but it was definitely an enviable class. Somehow, even my own class didn’t have so many options, but I think it was equally compensated by a job that was well on its way to evolving into a legendary job.
For some reason, I felt happy. Like it was a feeling you’d feel after doing a good deed. The situation wasn’t under my control, but if I had the choice to pass on the class myself, I’d have done the same as the system.
“That Karma stat is good for you, ain’t it?”
I said since I knew Elexis was a good person. There was no way a person would choose a class such as a knight for no reason.
“Yes, and I think it activated even before I got the stat.”
She smiled while biting her lips, trying to suppress her chuckle. I chuckled, understanding what she meant.
“Aren’t you unhappy? I got the class which was supposedly yours.”
Elexis asked with a guilty expression even though she knew that I had a legendary class.
“Hah? You won’t think that after you see my class information.”
I simply joked with a confident smirk, lifting up her guilt and making her chuckle.
“I get it. You dealt so much damage to a monster like that with just basic attacks! Was it some kind of fixed damage or something?”
Elexis pondered, rubbing her chin.
‘Truly a ranker! How scary, she had almost guessed one of my trump cards so easily.’
I was amazed and shocked at the same time. But I realised that all rankers were like her, or even better than her. They were prodigies that had made a name for themselves even before Mayhem, and they had gaming knowledge and senses far above the everyday gamer.
“True! He is so awesome!”
Jane chimed in with shiny eyes, looking at me with a bright expression for a second before she realised something, and her expression went back to being cold, like how I had seen her for the first time.
“Uh, thank you. If you hadn’t buffed me at the last minute, we all would have died.”
“Right, that! You’re welcome.”
Jane said, trying to sound as unimpressed as ever. What was with her? Was she a tsundere? Well, I don’t really care.
“Wait, those guys are still bleeding.”
I suddenly realised when I saw Ali and Gomchul lying on the floor, one bleeding from his hand and another having his gut exposed, talking to each other about god knows what.
I immediately ran to them and fed them each a potion, and soon, both their injuries healed like they weren’t even there.
‘Thank god this worked on NPCs.’
Potions that worked on NPCs were obviously costlier. But I was kind of rich and had more bonding with NPCs than humans. I had bought potions that worked on players as well as NPCs.
“Woah, your gut is not showing anymore!”
“Wow, your arm is healed too.”
Gomchul pointed at Ali’s arms, and the latter pointed at Gomchul’s tummy. Then they both looked each other in the eye and laughed along.
‘Did they build some kind of bond or something?’
It was scientifically proven that you would automatically build a bond with people with who you have had life and death encounters.
“Wonderful, Shura. A legend’s heir indeed.”
Diane gave a silent applaud and walked toward me.
“Thanks, also. You might want to start the clean-up now.”
I said, looking at all the dead guards and ministers. At the end of the whole event, we were the only ones alive. Of course, some had managed to escape successfully, but there was a low chance they’d return any more.
It was time to take control of the Drisica Kingdom.
“Yes, such a hassle. I’ll start right away. Y’all, get your asses up. We have a lot of things to do. Shura will now take rest, and we’ll proceed to take control of our army standing by.”
Diane shouted, and all her younger siblings got in front of her on instinctively.
