Monster MMORPG: Mayhem Online - Chapter 127
For the last 10 hours, all Shura did was continuously grind by killing monsters and gearing up. At some point, he realised that if he wanted to achieve something without dying and without anyone by his side, he’d have to use his alchemy and cook up some potions and stuff.
He collected a lot of rare minerals, herbs and plants and started to do alchemy on them, shocking the audience watching him.
“What the actual fuck.”
“He’s also an alchemist?”
“Since when was alchemy so easy and OP?”
The mouth of the audience was agape as they couldn’t believe their eyes. A guy with so much power and a legendary class also had a side hustle as an alchemist.
Not to mention that it barely took him minutes to finish refining things and cooking up potions.
And the chances of failure were close to none.
The whole of the audience consisted of at least 80-90% players, and some of them were alchemists too.
“….Have I been doing it right?”
“Why is it so fast? Fuck, he even draws the circle so precicely and so fast at that! Does he have an auto function or something?”
“I thought that being an alchemist sucked….”
“If that’s how I’ll end up eventually, I want to be an alchemist too!”
“Where do we change our class to an alchemist?”
“I already have a hidden class, I can take alchemist as a job. Does anyone have any idea how I can become an alchemist?”
“Fuck, look at those potions. All of them are medium grade. It’s an overkill for players whose ranks won’t even go beyond level 15.”
The players were in chaos as they saw Shura’s miraculous alchemy. From making potions to refining ores, he had only seen failure a few times, rest were all continuous success.
“What’s he doing now?”
“???!!!!”
As the audience kept on looking, Shura took out the shells and horns of the beast he had killed so far, and started to use alchemy on them.
“What….”
People were confused.
Why was he using alchemy on such items without breaking them down? Was he not creating a potion?
As they kept watching, their eyes felt like they’d pop out of their sockets.
Swords after swords, shields and armour pieces started getting formed as Shura touched them to feel their durability before storing them all up.
“….”
“What did I just see?”
“How is this fair….”
“You’re asking the wrong question. Ask how is this even possible?”
The more people kept watching Shura, the more they realised that he was a bugged existence in Mayhem. He wasn’t as skilled or powerful as Iqol or able, but the amount of versatility could easily make him their match or even surpass them.
“I still don’t understand why the monsters killed by him don’t turn into ash.”
“Oh? So you still haven’t read the article of Truth Seeker?”
“Why?”
“Go read.”
The article that had become famous in minutes regarding Shura.
Truth Seeker’s article laid out various plausible explanations and observations that others couldn’t help but agree with. One of such explanations was regarding Shura’s kills.
[As we all know, Shura has an evolvable race, and from the looks of it, a very gluttonous one too. We can freely assume that Shura’s race has something to do with his kills not disappearing after dying.]
This was an explanation that almost everyone had come to agree with.
On the screen, Shura was happily humming after creating so much unnecessary equipment just to show off.
He just wanted to show his skills properly when they were getting revealed anyways. It was a good time for a good scare to the top rankers and the rankers in the shadows.
Shura stored all the equipment and started moving on his way, reaching a mountain-like area and finding a hidden zone.
[You have entered the hidden zone North Lava Cave.]
Shura saw the notification and started walking inside. After reaching the area, he saw that a group of people were fighting on the other side of the road. The Flying Serpent had almost wiped them out, and that’s when Shura saw Crestfallen’s face.
‘Tsk. I don’t like this motherfucker’s face.’
Since his early days, Shura has always disliked Crestfallen for no particular reason. And when Shura saw the events that followed after, he finally gained a solid reason to openly dislike the little cunt.
‘I guess it’s time to play the hero.’
Since Crestfallen had already abandoned his little team, Shura’s mind started concocting a little scheme. He changed his expression and tried to use the best of what he had learnt from professional actors on the TV.
Ahem.
Turning his face into an aloof expression, as if he was bothered by nothing in the world, he started to slowly walk towards the group.
‘Fuck, he’s gonna kill them before I can show off.’
And so, Shura utilised his mana and channelled it directly above the group, forming a sphere made out of water around the group.
When the fire breath impact hit everyone, they didn’t realise they were already guarded.
—-Sssskkk!
As the fire hit the water attributed sphere, smoke rose all over, making way for Shura’s grand entrance.
—-Tap! Tap! Tap!
Footsteps resounded as Grant and the others who had instinctively crouched looked at the protective shield around them and then turned towards the direction of the footsteps.
A hazy silhouette of Shura’s monstrous look displayed to them before Shura appeared in front of everyone like a demonic angel.
“An NPC?”
“NPC my ass.”
He held out his monstrous clawed hand, and at this moment, everyone present felt like it was the hand of salvation itself.
In the palms of Shura appeared bottles after bottles of mana and health potion as he threw them at Grant.
“Here, take some potions and get back to work. You all listen to my command or I’ll throw you inside that snake’s belly.”
Everyone wanted to ask how he even got potions, but decided not to ask it when Shura warned them about what was more important.
In the smoke, nobody noticed but Shura had to drink a mana potion himself after his little stunt. After all, his little mana pool was immediately exhausted after just one defensive barrier.
Shura was currently level 12, which can be said to be near to max of what people could achieve in this limited map.
But even he despaired a bit when he saw the power level of the monster in front of him.
The monster’s level was undistinguishable, like every other monster in this map after a certain point. But the crimson light that it held inside it screamed for Shura to run away.
It was more powerful than anyone that he had seen till now.
‘Fuck, it’s not even the end of the dungeon and I am supposed to believe that this isn’t the end game boss?’
Shura couldn’t believe that the monster in front of him wasn’t at the last level of the dungeon.
“Our weapons are burnt.”
Grant said.
“Even if my staff is gone, magic is too slow without a staff.”
Angelina, the team’s magician said in a worried tone.
Shura looked at everyone who looked pathetic enough to garner the pity of the world.
“Ah! For fucks sake. Drink the potions at least.”
Everyone hurriedly dranks the mana and HP potions that Shura had given them and couldn’t believe what happened next.
“Fuck, it recovers 15,000 HP at once!”
“My total HP is just 2000 even after levelling up so much.”
“I am the tank and I barely have close to 10,000 HP. Such a waste, where did he even get such potions.”
The others couldn’t help but be amazed even at this life and death situation.
“What a bunch. Don’t you think we have something way more important to deal with?”
Shura cried as he fired an ether bullet towards the Flying Serpent that was rushing towards them.
—-Kkhuuaakkk!
The serpent cried out as it flew back into the air. The name of the location was north lava cave, but the cave part was only till people reached the serpent’s location. The current place was more a sidehill with a river of lava flowing down from below them, and the Flying Serpent was hovering above them.
The ether bullet had hit directly in its belly, making it bleed.
At this point, the group tried hard to suppress the astonishment and focus on the matter in front of them.
“Here, use these. And don’t break them or I’ll make you all pay.”
Shura said as he threw out all the shields, swords and bows that he had made.
Again, instead of asking questions, everyone just hurriedly grabbed onto the equipment, their jaws dropping to the ground.
“….my staff.”
Angelina muttered meekly. All the weapons and armour didn’t include a staff. Shura looked towards her and she instinctively crouched, but he just smiled charmingly as he took out the staff that he had gotten as a drop item.
“Here.”
Angelina felt her heart flutter when she saw Shura’s smile. Shura turned back and looked at the Serpent who had stopped attacking them due to getting a heavy blow for the first time.
“You guys ready?”
Grant asked as he felt rejuvenated with the large, pointy shell shield in his hand.
‘”Yes!”‘
“Then lemme call that motherfucker here.”
Grant smiled as he used a taunt skill and shouted towards the flying serpent. The serpent who had stopped attacking again cried out as it prepared for a dive.
“Looks like someone’s out of their breath.”
Shura chuckled as he made a pun about the serpent’s breath. It was probably a limited use skill, giving the group a better chance to fight it back.
[You have received an attack blessing. All attacks increased by 5%.]
[You have received a sprint blessing. All movements increased by 5%.]
[You have received a defence blessing. All defences increased by 5%.]
Shura looked at the bald priest who was casting all the buffs and smiled.
He started running towards the serpent’s direction who was also rushing towards the group. The only catch was that he was running straight into lava.
“Shura!”
