Moonlight Ball - Chapter 94 (18+)
The Duke was being very sarcastic. This was his best way of resistance.
“I was in a carriage accident. I almost drowned. There has been a bit of confusion in my memories since. But as you know, there are only limited people who know about this, so you’ll have to tell me.”
The Duke lifted his head in disbelief at Iris’s words. She’s saying that was an accident? That wasn’t an accident. She almost drowned trying to kill the princess of Magic Tower. The fact that she didn’t cover the mouth of the wizard she was trying to kill tells her stupidity! How arrogant was she? The fact she didn’t think the wizard would perform magic when a sword was at her throat.
“I don’t know anything. Your Majesty did every- ahhhhh!”
The Duke screamed in surprise as a small lightning flashed across his very own eyes. He lifted his head to see a rain cloud above him that shouldn’t be indoor.
“I put a seal. No one can hear you,” said Iris.
“You crazy b*tch!” The Duke shouted on top of his lungs. He didn’t care that she was a queen.
“I’m going to hit you with lightning until you tell me. Since you deserve it, you should endure it.”
“You did it, you! You!”
“Then, again.”
A small lightning bolt came down from the rain cloud. The Duke screamed again. This crazy bitch is even crazier! Completely insane! Haran’s river made her really crazy! The Duke shouted out all kinds of curses and profanities but Iris kept striking him with lightning, endlessly.

Like all the wizards, Iris Elaine was persistent. It was obvious when one thought about it. The wizards were the people that tried what seemed impossible a few thousand times to make it happen. Only the ones that were persistent could become wizards. Out of all of them, the most persistent ones were the elite wizards. Of course, skill was needed too. But it was impossible for the ones that weren’t born persistent to become elite wizards. They were whiners of sorts. Why doesn’t it work? Why, why, why, why! Make it work! What if I do this? Do that? Do sideways? Elite wizards made anything work out in the end and if they weren’t satisfied enough, they increased their effort tenfold.
From those elites, the most persistent of the persistent was none other than Iris Elain.
It was impossible for the Duke to outlast Iris Elaine. Iris was very thorough. She wrote down the people that Duke Zeneth began to name whom were involved with treason and made a connection tree out of it. What they were in charge of, who was above them, everything.
Then, she checked if Duke Zeneth was lying by asking time to time again. As the lightning kept striking from the cloud, the Duke couldn’t find the will to lie anymore. At some point, he collapsed and couldn’t wake up.
Seems like I can’t do this anymore. Iris flicked her finger. The rain cloud disappeared without a trace.
Truthfully, the lightning was merely an illusion. For the second strike, however, Iris induced a little bit of pain to make the mirage more believable. To bring lightning inside required a lot of magic power and also could attract unwanted attention from the Magic Tower. It seemed though that Duke Zeneth’s mental capacity couldn’t handle this situation.
H, he didn’t die, right? Iris checked again. She was worried about hitting him with the vase, but she wasn’t worried about everything else. She couldn’t control her power at the time. He was a man and he was likely much stronger than her, so she had to use all of her strength.
Thankfully, he wasn’t dead. Iris sighed and then looked down at the paper. There were names that shouldn’t be there.
Elaine Rosi.
The name that should never be here was here.
My teacher? Iris thought. He liked power unlike Iris. She remembered him being very happy when he became the owner of the Magic Tower. He forced a gift out of her, saying that there was no way a disciple of his shouldn’t give him a gift.
But her teacher, participating in treason? It was absurd. She couldn’t believe it. His teacher wasn’t very fond of the royalty but treason was a different story. Elaine would dislike whoever sat on the throne. That was a fundamental problem between the Magic Tower and the royalty.
What happened? Why is my teacher’s name part of the treason? Iris thought she had to check. Originally, she was planning to give the list to Sidrain, but now she couldn’t.
It was a very long private meeting. The Queen showed up a little disheveled from the meeting. Her elegant face looked a little excited and her dress was crumpled a little.
Elena panicked the moment she saw this. The Queen looked like someone who just had a s*xual relation in the café. She looked bewitched and sensual. But Elena knew the Queen well. Even with the King who loved her so much, there was no progression. There was no way the princess of Magic Tower would’ve given her body to the likes of Duke Zeneth.
But then why is her face like that?
“Your Majesty, the Duke is….”
