Moon’s Labyrinth - Chapter 332
As expected of the strongest Connectors, Russell and Bruce lived up to their name.
Each man fought a Jormungandr, and they held a decisive edge as they fought against the monsters.
Sungyoon immediately ran towards the remaining Jormungandr.
While Sungyoon, Russell, and Bruce occupied the three Jormungandr, the battle turned highly competitive again.
Sungyoon had become pretty strong, but he couldn’t be compared to Russell and Bruce yet. This was why Russell and Bruce killed their monsters much faster than Sungyoon.
Sungyoon looked at the two men.
Wink!
Bruce winked at him. He wagged his index finger as if to say Sungyoon had a long way to go.
Russell looked exasperated as he looked at Bruce’s antics.
Russell looked straight at Sungyoon. He nodded his head once, and he started killing the other monsters.
‘The two of them haven’t changed at all.’
It seemed they wanted Sungyoon to take care of the remaining Jormungandr.
‘I won’t let them down.’
Sungyoon took up his halberd, and he attacked Jormungandr once again.
Was it thanks to having a backup? Sungyoon’s movements looked less desperate as he fought the Jormungandr.
He slowly pushed Jormungandr back against the wall. Finally, he took a big swing at Jormungandr’s neck.
‘Huh?’
Surprisingly, he didn’t feel any resistance through his hands. He felt no resistance as he cut through the hard scales of Jormungandr.
It felt like cutting through an overripe fruit that was about to go bad. He only felt a soft sensation through his hands.
Over half of Jormungandr’s neck was cut open.
Blood sprayed into the air. The neck hung on the remaining flesh as the corpse fell to the ground.
In contrast, Sungyoon landed softly.
‘This is….’
It was a familiar power. The nearby monsters rushed Sungyoon, but Sungyoon was able to sever their heads with just one stroke of the halberd.
‘I knew it!’
It was the power from the source of magic. Moreover, this was completely different from the power that was generated by the Royal Gem. It was the power that he was able to tap when fighting the Golems and Kevil.
Sungyoon turned his head. He saw several more Jormungandr appear on the battlefield. However, that wasn’t the important part.
‘Let me strengthen my vision.’
He activated his spell, and Sungyoon’s vision became clearer. He saw someone on top of a Jormungandr.
‘Glaia.’
She had the upper body of a human woman and a lower body of a snake. She was an officer that was on par with Kevil.
Sungyoon tapped his communication device in a particular sequence.
It was one of the signals that were set up beforehand.
-Is it an officer? Is it Glaia!
Tap!
-Shit!
The mayor swore.
-We’ve also confirmed the presence of several more Jormungandr. It seems they are like Kevil’s Archdemons. It seems they function as her personal troops.
Since Glaia was standing on top of a Jormungandr’s head, his theory was likely.
-Mr. Sungyoon. I would like you to fight Glaia with Sir Russell and Mr. Bruce.
‘We’ll go right now.’
Sungyoon gave a signal towards his party members.
‘Still, I’m wary about fighting Glaia with just the three of us.’
It would be a problem if he didn’t have anyone to help him, but he had his party members. Moreover, they would be fighting alongside the two greatest Connectors of earth.
‘I’m worried I might fall behind them….’
He decided to trust the power being sent to him from the source of magical energy.
One of the Jormungandr broke off from Glaia’s group. It intercepted Sungyoon, who was running towards Glaia.
It revealed its sharp poisonous fangs as it threatened Sungyoon.
‘F.u.c.k off!’
He threw his hammer. The hammer spun through the air as it impacted Jormungandr’s head.
An explosion erupted.
Hwee-chung!
Jormungandr’s face became bloodied.
Sungyoon flew above its head. He changed direction as he dived downwards. He put his Gravity spell on himself. Sungyoon’s body dropped rapidly.
Sungyoon took out his halberd, and he pointed the spear blade downwards.
Sungyoon shot forward like a bullet.
He used the momentum to pierce through Jormungandr’s head.
‘Ughh!’
His entire body was covered in blood and gore of Jormungandr.
‘I did it because I want to end this fight as soon as possible., I might have overdone it!’
He tried to brush off the body fluids with his hands, but it wasn’t enough. In the end, he gave up.
‘Let’s just consider myself lucky for not getting stuck within its head.’
He started moving once again. As he did so, he fought another Jormungandr.
This time he didn’t use the bullet plan.
He took the normal route. He used his sword as a nail, and he pounded it into the head of Jormungandr with his hammer.
As expected, it is easier than before to kill it.
‘Next…!’
Sungyoon stood on top of Jormungandr’s corpse, and he was about to look for his next target when it happened. A liquid was shot towards him.
By the time Sungyoon realized it, the liquid was close to hitting him.
Flap!
He instinctively unfurled his wings as he flew backward. The liquid lost its target, and it fell towards the corpse of Jormungandr.
The corpse started to melt away.
‘What the…!’
Sungyoon was terrified by what he saw. He had seen a lot of poisons in this battle. Sungyoon also used poison through his ax. However, he had never encountered a poison of this caliber.
It was like pouring boiling water on the ground with light snow. In a flash, the corpse of Jormungandr melted away. There was no delay or resistance.
‘Koo-ooh-oohk!’
He suddenly felt pain in his arm.
‘What the hell!’
He quickly looked down at his arm.
‘Shit! Poison!’
A couple of drops had splashed onto his arm. A couple of small holes had appeared in his armor. He quickly unsummoned the armor on his arm. However, it was too late. He saw a couple of small holes on his arm.
However, the damage didn’t stop there.
‘The wound is getting bigger! The poison is spreading!’
It was an extremely toxic poison that had melted Jormungandr’s corpse in an instant.
He didn’t even think about it. He acted immediately. Sungyoon summoned his halberd, and he used the ax blade to cut off his arms. He severed it at his shoulder joint.
His arm fell to the ground, and in an instant, his severed arm melted away.
‘Koo-ooh-oohk!’
He bit his lips. Despite being in paint, he shuddered when he witnessed the power of the poison.
Sungyoon looked towards the source of the poison.
Her beautiful yet terrifying eyes were looking down at him in an arrogant manner.
‘Glaia. This is the poison of an officer.’
However, he didn’t think too long about it.
‘Shit! This hurts! I have to get this fixed first.’
He had cut off a limb. He felt pain, and he could feel his blood and his life force drain out of him in real-time.
‘I should retreat for a short time.’
Sungyoon possessed a healing Gem, but it was still a Rainbow rank. It was pretty low. He had let Emily do most of the healing. He had mostly focused on developing his attack power.
This was why he couldn’t regrow his arm. He could only stop the wound from worsening.
‘No. It isn’t as if I’m out of options.’
Sungyoon held the halberd with his remaining left hand, and he moved towards where the monsters were thickest.
He cut down a careless monster. His balance was off, and the pain was eating away at his mental state. However, he could still fight.
Moreover, he was fighting against the small fry.
‘Is it getting a bit better?’
He looked at his wound. It was still letting out blood.
‘I have to kill a couple more.’
Sungyoon swung his halberd. Since he was being supplied power by the source of magical energy, he didn’t have a tough time killing the monsters.
The blood loss was rapidly decreasing as he cut down more monsters.
His wound closed, then his arm slowly started to regrow itself.
After cutting a monster in half, he looked down at his right arm. An uninjured arm could be seen, and he could move it through his own volition.
‘It is fine now.’
He had leveled up the halberd a lot, and its healing ability had become strong enough to regrow a body part.
Sungyoon resummoned his armor on his healed right arm. The holes made by the poison remained.
He let out a sigh of relief. He chuckled in dismay at his intact arm.
‘Am I become way too tough to kill?’
He had acted quickly in desperation, but when he looked back on it, he had done something incredible.
Even if he was trying to save his life from the poison invading his body, he hadn’t hesitated to cut off his own arm. Then he had killed monsters while missing an arm.
When he looked back, he could tell the Connectors were glancing towards him. They looked a bit overwhelmed by what he had done.
‘If I saw someone like me on the battlefield, I would have looked at him with the same eyes like them.’
Sungyoon took his eyes off the Connectors, and he looked towards Glaia.
While Sungyoon was focused on his recovery, Russell and Bruce had started their fight against Glaia.
‘I hope I didn’t put them in a tough spot.’
Sungyoon quickly joined the fight.
Russell looked at Sungyoon. He rubbed his right arm.
‘He’s asking if my arm is ok….’
Sungyoon raised his thumb.
Russell looked relieved as he moved.
‘Oh no!’
Sungyoon quickly retreated backward. Russell quickly got out of there too. Caustic liquid splashed where they had been standing. It shot forwards in a straight line.
‘It’s poison again!’
He had to cut off his arm thanks to this poison, so Sungyoon shuddered.
He quickly checked if any poison had splashed onto his body. Thankfully, not a single drop had hit him.
After Sungyoon and Russell confirmed that they were alright, they charged Glaia.
Bruce jumped in between them. He kept moving his mouth as if he was saying something. It seemed he was complaining that they had taken too long by his gestures.
However, Sungyoon couldn’t know for sure since there was no sound. He just shrugged his shoulders.
‘What should we do about her now?’
Russell and Bruce had engaged Glaia for a brief moment, but they hadn’t been able to gain the upper hand.
Sungyoon remembered they had attacked Glaia before, but it had been a losing proposition. At most, the battle had been a standstill.
‘I can’t compare this to the time when I killed Kevil. Unlike him, Glaia can use her full power.’
First, he decided to limit the use of his ax. Since her ability was poison-related, he didn’t think the ax would work against her.
Sungyoon summoned his halberd.
The three men attack Glaia at the same time.
‘Let’s kill the Jormungandr first.’
Glaia was riding on top of the head of a Jormungandr, and it threatened the three men with its mouth wide open. It was clear that it was full of fighting spirit.
It seemed Russell and Bruce had the same thought as him. They didn’t jump up towards the head. They immediately attacked Jormungandr’s stomach.
Bruce punched Jormungandr’s stomach. It was as if a ripple moved outwards from where his punch had landed. Jormungandr’s body shook.
‘A human would have died instantly from that blow.’
He already used four weapons, but Sungyoon thought it would be great if he had a gauntlet to use like Bruce.
Jormungandr went crazy.
‘I would have reacted the same way.’
After Bruce’s attack, Russell slashed with his sword. The black scales were cut away, and a large cut appeared on its stomach. Sungyoon stabbed his halberd through the open wound.
Afterward, Sungyoon retreated. The halberd remained in its stomach. Bruce punched the handle of the halberd.
In a flash, the halberd shot forward. It pierced completely through the thick body to exit on the other side.
Afterward, Russell and Sungyoon attacked with their swords. They kept hacking away at the open wound. In the end, they were able to cut Jormungandr in half.
The three men jumped backward as its upper body fell to the ground.
‘Jeez!’
Sungyoon quickly retreated backward when the poison flew towards him again. Caustic gas rose into the air as the poison created a hole in the ground. Then something landed right in front of them. She had the upper body of a human and the lower body of a snake.
‘She’s going to fight us for real now.’
Sungyoon took a firmer grip on his halberd.
Glaia’s long slitted eyes headed towards the three of them.
