The secretary pushed the door open, and Brian frowned. “Get out and come in again.”
This made the secretary feel a little strange, but she closed the door before pushing it open again.
“Get out and come back in.”
The secretary was a little angry but still did as she was told. This time, she knocked on the door before entering the office after Brian shouted, “Come in.”
Just as she was about to put down the document, Brian asked, “Who recruited you?”
The secretary coughed lightly. “The HR manager.”
She had thought that Brian would reward her, but she heard him say coldly, “Go and settle the remaining salary with the HR manager with the accountant. From tomorrow onwards, both of you don’t have to come anymore. Get out.”
The secretary was frightened and hurriedly apologized. “President Ford, I can change what I did wrong. Don’t fire me.”
Brian didn’t even raise his head. “I don’t like to repeat myself.”
The secretary had no choice but to leave dejectedly. Brian finally felt peace and started to busy himself with his work.
…
Tiffany comforted Olivia. She had been busy for half a day and hadn’t eaten anything, so Tiffany brought her cousin to a restaurant with a good reputation.
As soon as Olivia got out of the car, she heard someone looking down on her.
“Look, isn’t that the shameless Mrs. Ford? Why is she here? She’s really lowering the restaurant’s standards.”
The other woman looked in the direction of her friend’s finger, her eyes filled with disdain.
“Yeah.” Then, she deliberately raised her decibels. “Waiter, remember to take a good look at the person when you attend to them. Don’t let them cause any unnecessary trouble for the restaurant.”
The others all looked outside. Olivia’s face alternated between green and white. She was angered by these two eccentric women and was about to go crazy.
Tiffany was about to ask Olivia to take a seat when the waiter stopped her.
“The restaurant is full today. Miss, please eat at another restaurant.”
The arrogant expression on the waiter’s face made Olivia want to rub his face against the ground. Seeing this, Tiffany pushed the waiter away angrily.
The waiter staggered a little, but luckily he managed to steady his balance and did not fall.
“Miss, please show some respect. This is wrong.”
Tiffany was about to speak when Olivia pulled her behind her. She crossed her arms and sized up the waiter in front of her.
“You know what respect is? It seems that your restaurant needs to train your servers properly. Customers are always right. I’m afraid it doesn’t make sense for you to reject me.”
The waiter’s face turned green when he heard this. “Our restaurant doesn’t entertain people with bad morals. We’re afraid that it will affect the atmosphere in the restaurant.”
Olivia immediately understood. It seemed that if she did not clear up her reputation, it would be difficult for her to take even a single step forward. She was just about to leave when a female voice sounded from behind her.
“Since when did I teach you to treat customers like this? You’re fired, leave.”
The waiter immediately begged pitifully, “Boss, I didn’t do it on purpose. I did it for the good of the restaurant.”
Lina impatiently dismissed the waiter and held onto Olivia’s hand as they walked in. When they arrived at the rude woman’s table, Lina slammed her hand on the table.
“This restaurant is closed. I won’t be serving you two anymore. Please leave.”
The woman stared at Lina with her mouth agape. “We’re VIP members! What right do you have to chase us away?”
After saying that, she waved the golden VIP card in her hand. Lina waved and called a waiter over.
“Take them away immediately. Also, our restaurant will not entertain these two in the future.”
Lina looked at the woman. “Do you know now?”
Under the gazes of everyone, Olivia and the others went up to the private room on the second floor. Tiffany ordered many specialty dishes and then started to busy herself with the things in her hands.
“What are you doing?”
Lina looked at the socialites on the screen with curiosity.
“It’s an especially good short film. You’ll see it very soon, don’t worry.”
Olivia looked at Lina with gratitude in her heart. This was the second time that Lina had helped her out of such a predicament. She was very touched, and her impression of Lina rose a little.
Lina suddenly cried out in alarm, “Oh my God! Who’s the one who came up with this idea? You guys did such a big thing but didn’t even bring me along. I really want to chase you guys out. This is too much!”
Tiffany stuck out her tongue. “You’re such a busy person. I called you a few times, but you didn’t pick up. You still have the cheek to blame me? Who knew that my cousin would feel wronged after coming to your restaurant? What should we do about that?”
Lina put her arm around Olivia’s shoulders and pointed at the delicious dishes on the table, “Your responsibility is to eat today. It’s my treat. From now on, you can eat free of charge in this restaurant.”
Olivia had heard of this place before. Those who could go up to the second floor were all prestigious figures. Those on the first floor were just some nouveau riche or oil tycoons.
Olivia nodded and took out her phone to take a look. She was a little dejected. There was still no news from Brian. Could it be that the video had not been released?
Olivia opened her Facebook app and saw the short video her cousin had just posted. She realized that the number of views and shares was very high.
Brian shouldn’t have missed it. He should be busy.
Olivia couldn’t help but laugh as she scrolled through the comments on the post.
“This is a good show. Let’s see how this b*tchy woman will continue to hurt her sister. I’m looking forward to the sequel.”
Olivia placed the phone in front of the two of them and laughed out loud. Lina suddenly stood up very seriously and pointed at herself and Tiffany.
“I’ll say this first. If you don’t call me the next time you do something, you’ll lose me completely.”
Olivia didn’t know why, but she felt very relaxed when interacting with Tiffany and Lina. She didn’t feel pressured at all. They weren’t as scheming as other girls, so there was nothing to complain about when they treated her well.
“Okay, okay. I’ll definitely call you next time,” Olivia smiled and answered Lina’s question.
As Tiffany looked at the happy duo, she felt very happy.
After so many years, her family had always been asking her to do better. No matter how good Tiffany was, she couldn’t satisfy them. If she was good, they would ask for better. It had always been like this. This was the first time in so many years that Tiffany was so happy.
“Olivia, Lina, thank you.”
This sudden gratitude baffled the two.
“What happened?”
Olivia’s eyes suddenly reddened, and the two of them understood at the same time. Without saying anything, the three of them hugged each other tightly.
At the same time, in the Garcia family…
Sophia was furious when she saw the short film. She wished she could tear Olivia apart right now. Why was it that she was able to avoid everything every time?
Now that things had come to this, she could only pretend to be weak. Otherwise, why would Brian be interested in her?
Hersha pushed the door open and came in. “Girl, you were a little rash. Think about how to give an explanation to your father tonight. This matter will still affect the Garcia Corporation’s reputation.”
