Mr. President Do You Mind If I Fall In Love With You? - Chapter 10
Luna was grateful that she didn’t have to leave for work since it was already the weekend. She threw the eviction notice she received earlier at the coffee table and stumped her feet. Too many problems were piling up, and her landlady wouldn’t even bother giving her a grace period to pay her rent.
She flopped her back on her own bed, her eyes fixated on the ceiling of her bedroom. She heard a rustle at her doorway and saw her pet dog making his way to join her on her bed.
She turned on her side to make space for her pet. Her hand gently ran on his white thick fur and smiled when he yawned big after taking a comfortable position beside her.
“Fluffy,” Luna said. “I think I messed up big time,” she confessed. She wasn’t expecting Fluffy to understand, but ever since she adopted Fluffy years ago, it was him who patiently gave her a listening ear whenever something bothered her.
She fondled his ears and snorted when she heard him growl in delight. Well, at least Fluffy wouldn’t leave her whatever happens.
“What should I do?” she asked, but it was more likely directed to herself. “Do you think I should tell Jasper what really happened or just break up with him? I feel like I don’t deserve him anymore.”
Her phone beeped, indicating she received an important email. Too lazy to move around, Luna stretched her arms and took her phone from her nightstand. Just as what she’d expected, it was another reminder of a bill she needed to settle soon. It was more important than anything else.
Her mother’s hospital bill took a huge part of her monthly salary, but she really didn’t care. She only wished that her mother would recover soon. Fortunately, the president of their company decided to give them incentives for a job well done they earned from their last project.
If she could, she would also take a short vacation like everyone else did with their extra money, but her obligation as the breadwinner of her small family forbade her to enjoy such activities.
Shaking her head with disappointment, Luna abruptly sat up from her bed and changed her clothes. She should do something to lessen the burden on her back because there’s no use in crying over spilled milk now.

Daryl Yang knew something was wrong as soon as he picked up his boss from the hotel that afternoon. There was something different about his employer. Hero Li usually wore his poker face and wouldn’t bother to express any emotion except when he’s mad about something.
Taking a sneak peek at the dashboard mirror, he noticed that there was a small grin on Hero’s face. Daryl’s face turned green. What was that supposed to mean? Did the hell just freeze over that his usual sadistic and cold boss was now smiling at the back seat of the car?
He could tell that Hero was in a good mood. He even looked relaxed and—dared he say—happy. This was the first time he saw his boss like this. Even when the Hero’s deceased wife died years ago, Daryl never saw Hero’s cold mask crack. He was baffled by the sudden change of Hero’s temperament.
His eyes went back to the road to focus on what he was supposed to do. No, there must be something that piqued Hero’s attention; hence, his sudden change, but Daryl couldn’t think of anything that could amuse his boss. What could it be?
As if sensing the train of thoughts running in his mind, Hero spoke behind him, nearly catching him off-guard.
“Daryl, find everything about Luna Jiang from the marketing department. I want the detailed report about her this evening.”
Daryl was really thankful he didn’t accidentally step on the brakes when he heard his master’s request. So it was all because of a woman.
Of all the things, he never expected that Hero would one day asked him to check the background of a woman. What kind of woman was Luna Jiang that she could pique the demon’s interest?
“Of course, Master Hero. I will deliver the files you needed tonight.”
