Mr. President Do You Mind If I Fall In Love With You? - Chapter 13
“You came,” the woman greeted Luna with a mocking grin.
Luna raised a brow but didn’t say anything and sat across the woman. She kept her clenching hands unseen beneath the table to hide her irritation from her half-sister. Her usual calm attitude was replaced with an antagonistic demeanor.
“You look surprised. Didn’t I tell you we have to talk before?” Sienna Jiang smiled. Dressed in a fitting white dress, she looked graceful and sophisticated. Looking at the two half-sisters, no one would probably guess they were related.
For some reasons, Luna disliked this person. While they shared the same father, they grew up in different environments. Sienna was pampered and spoiled by their father, while Luna grew up striving to prove herself.
When Elaine Ye, Luna’s mother, met Stephen Jiang, he’d tricked her and made her believe that he was a bachelor that had to travel to different places due to his work. Being a commoner that grew up on the outskirts of the faraway town in Province A, Elaine hadn’t heard or known about the Jiang family and its members.
Although she wasn’t comparable to the drop-dead gorgeous women City E has to offer, her beauty was enough to get the attention of heir of the Jiang family. She was smart but oblivious to the identity of her lover. It was only after she gave birth to Luna that she found out why he couldn’t marry her.
A married man.
Elaine was emotionally devastated but couldn’t find the courage to leave the only man she loved in her life. She stayed with him for another five years until Clarissa Lin, Sienna’s mother, framed her for a crime she didn’t commit.
Right now, the Jiang family had five legitimate successors: Luna and Julian from Elaine Ye, and there’s Sienna, Maria, and Vincent from Clarissa Lin. The first wife, the lawfully wedded one, didn’t bore any child; hence, she had nothing to say about the inheritance of the illegitimate children.
Luna hated to be ȧssociated with any of her siblings. As far as she was concerned, she had no connection to the Jiang family aside from the surname she had. She hated that man. That man she never considered as her father. She hated herself for not standing up for them and letting his other mistress bully her and her mother,
“I have no reason to talk to you, but since you’re insisting on meeting me, I guess I have no choice.” Luna fought the urge to roll her eyes. Sienna was only here to talk about her inheritance and make sure she wouldn’t dare to come back to the Jiang family.
“Do you really hate me that much, sister? I haven’t seen you in months. It’s only natural for siblings to look out for each other,” Sienna asked. Luna was tempted to slap her own sister and let the world know how two-faced this woman was.
“Hate is a big word, Sienna,” Luna replied. She would never acknowledge her as her sister. In this lifetime, the only one she considered as her sibling was her little brother, Julian. “I have never hated anyone except for Father.”
“Now, don’t say that, sis. Daddy cares about you.”
Luna frowned. She didn’t want to stay long with this faker.
“Cut the crap, and let’s get to the point, Sienna. Why do you want to see me?”
“I heard your mother was hospitalized again,” Sienna said after she took a sip from her cup.
“So?” Luna already knew what’s Sienna’s intention.
Sienna took a thin folder from the seat beside her and pushed it towards Luna. Luna eyed at it before taking it from the table. Her eyes quickly scanned the contents of the documents inside. Sienna gave her enough time to read it and waited patiently for her to finish it.
After a long silence between the two, Luna burst into laughter.
“Sienna Jiang, do you take me as a fool?” Luna smirked and threw back the folder at her half-sister.
“Sienna Jiang, Vice President of Marketing of the Jiang Corporation, Big Miss of the Jiang family, is afraid of the commoner Luna Jiang?”
Sienna’s face turned red. She’d never been humiliated like this in her life, and she didn’t expect that Luna would talk back to her like this.
With a mischievous glint in her eyes, Luna stared back at her sister.
“Sienna, a chicken can never become a phoenix. You should stop pretending to be one.”
