Mr. President Do You Mind If I Fall In Love With You? - Chapter 24
Imagine his surprise when the woman who’s been keeping him awake late at night was the one he saw when he stepped out of the elevator. Hero could tell she was also surprised to see him while Joanna stood next to her.
What was she doing here with his sister?
“Finally! I’ve been waiting forever, and you finally decided to show up!” Joanna huffed before pulling on Luna’s arm to introduce her to Hero.
“I want you to meet someone. Remember the one I told you? The person Amber likes very much? This is her.” Joanna glanced at Luna before turning back her attention to her brother. “This Luna Jiang. Luna, I want you to meet my brother, Hero Li.”
But Luna stayed silent, still surprised to see the man she met in the hotel room.
Taking advantage of her shock, Hero stepped forward and took one of her hands. He leaned down and placed a chaste kiss on it. He reveled at the smoothness of her hand against his.
“Pleasure to meet you, Miss Jiang. My sister told me good things about you. I hope Amber didn’t give you problems recently.”
Luna snapped out of her daze and pulled her hand away from his hold. She noticed the amusement in his eyes and the devilish grin on his lips as he looked at her. Her breath hitched, and she could feel her blush spreading from her face down to her neck.
Why’s he pretending like he didn’t know her? There’s no mistaking that he was the same man she’d slept with back in the hotel. Same eyes, same face, same scent that made her knees weak in his presence. She looked around, trying to figure out if there’s a way to escape from his prying eyes.
Wait.
Luna’s eyes widened when she realized she missed a piece of vital information. Didn’t Joanna say this man was her brother? That meant …
“You’re Amber’s father …” she stated the obvious; but to Hero and Joanna, it seemed like she was asking a question.
Hero was taken aback. He dearly hoped that Luna wasn’t bothered by the fact that he already had a child.
“I am,” he admitted. He would never deny Amber was his child in the first place.
There’s no point in lying to her, but that didn’t mean he could just let her go like that.
“Can I talk to you privately?” Hero asked after a long silence between them.
Joanna nodded in agreement and turned to leave.
“I’ll just check on Amber and to make sure everything’s packed. I will leave the two of you.” She then glared at her brother. “Don’t you dare to leave without us. I already told Amber that you’re going today,” she said before leaving.
A shiver run down on Luna’s spine. She didn’t like being alone with this man, and she hated that he could affect her just by looking at her.
“Luna Jiang,” Hero tested her name, and he liked how her name sounds. “What a beautiful name.”
“This is just a coincidence. I didn’t plan to meet you this way,” Luna said. Her heartbeat finally calmed down.
“I know,” Hero replied, “And I didn’t expect meeting you here, Luna. Don’t you think fate brought us together?”
“As if!”
“Oh? You don’t think so?” Hero fought the urge to laugh at her flustered state. Now that destiny gave him a chance, he would never miss this opportunity to get her.
Who would have thought that the woman Amber liked was the same woman he was trying to chase? If all works as he planned, she would fall for him anytime soon, and that was thanks to his daughter.
“I told you it’s just a coincidence. If it wasn’t for your daughter, I wouldn’t be here.” Luna had enough of him and decided to leave before everything got out of hand.
Hero’s eyes narrowed. There’s no second time for her! She couldn’t just leave him like this. He moved swiftly, pushing her on the nearest wall and trapping her by hitting his hand on a wall to surprise her. The smile on his face vanished as he glared down at her. There was no escaping this time.
Oh, dear. What should she do?
