Mr. President Do You Mind If I Fall In Love With You? - Chapter 53
While many people could be deceived by Aiko’s words, Jasper wasn’t one of them. A smile crossed on his lips as he leaned forward to speak near her ear.
“Good acting. A sŀut like you can easily enter show business with the kind of acting you possess.”
When Jasper stepped back, Aiko’s eyes reddened. She’d never been degraded by anyone like this!
Madam Mo glanced at Aiko and arched a brow. Then, she faced Luna Jiang with irritation.
“Miss Jiang, I do hope you understand clearly why we invited you here.” She started, trying to ignore the glaring daggers Jasper was throwing on her way. “Miss Jiang, today is Jasper’s birthday; the guests present are very important to stabilize the position of the Mo family within the industry.
“A person like you… maybe a Jiang, but you were born from a mistress. This wouldn’t give Jasper a good reputation if he marries you. Also, if he hasn’t told you yet, Aiko is pregnant with his child. Tonight, we will announce their engagement and the date of their wedding,” Madam Mo said smugly, pleased with the way she dropped the bomb on Luna’s head.
The underlying message of her words was also clear: ‘See now, Luna Jiang. You aren’t worthy of our Young Master Mo. This isn’t a place where you should be.’
Luna had long known that this old woman didn’t like her for Jasper and been repeatedly convinced him to dump her for another woman. She just didn’t expect that this old woman would go at great lengths just to push her out of the way.
For her to say that Aiko was with Jasper’s child… how could this be?
Her shocked expression deeply pleased Madam Mo and Aiko, making them forget the verbal ȧssault they’d received from Jasper. This was more satisfying to see than anything else, especially for Aiko Chen.
“P-pregnant?” Luna repeated what she heard.
She stared at Jasper’s face waiting for him to deny Madam Mo’s claim, but there was none. Instead, what she saw was his face filled with pain and guilt from within. There was no need to hear the truth from him because his expression had given her the answer she needed.
A single tear rolled down her cheeks as she regarded Jasper.
“Why? When did this happen?” she asked with a broken voice.
Taking the chance to give Luna Jiang the final blow, Aiko was the one who spilled the beans.
“It was my fault, Miss Jiang. I-I couldn’t stop Jasper’s advances that night. He was really drunk and had mistakenly taken me for being you. He…” Her words trailed off, but it was easy for anyone to ȧssume what she meant by her words.
“I-I’m twelve weeks pregnant. I’m so sorry for causing trouble for the two of you,” she cried out.
Twelve weeks pregnant?! Aiko was twelve weeks pregnant?!
Luna found herself speechless for the umpteenth time. She was also pregnant but hadn’t past her tenth week, and yet Aiko was already pregnant weeks ahead of her?
How could this happen? Did this mean that she wasn’t the one who cheated on Jasper first? That she wasn’t the one to blame for the rift in their relationship? That even before she lost her chastity to President Li, Jasper had already spent a night with Aiko?
Luna stepped back and held her ċhėst. This was too much information for her to handle. She suddenly felt so dizzy, and her eyesight was starting to blur.
Twelve weeks… that meant a month before she met Hero Li. Did Aiko set her up that night so she could justify her marriage with Jasper soon?
“Luna, please hear me out…” Jasper’s voice was surprisingly calm.
“So is true then?” Luna looked at him straight in his eyes, trying to find deceit in him.
“Yes…”
Silence ensued, and neither of the two spoke a word for the next seconds. Aiko was pleased with the result. There would be no chance for Luna to accept Jasper anymore for his betrayal even if she was the one who drugged him forcefully to get pregnant.
Luna felt like she was just stabbed right in her ċhėst from Jasper’s confession. All this time, she had blamed herself, feeling pitiful and guilty for getting pregnant. Yet, Jasper had it worst.
No wonder he couldn’t look at her straight in the eyes when she talked to him weeks before she met Hero Li. No wonder he would unconsciously shiver at the mention of Aiko Chen’s name. It was now starting to make sense to her.
Luna wiped her tears dry and smiled bitterly at Jasper.
“Then, congratulations Young Master Mo. I wish the best for the two of you,” she finally said… knowing that, after this, they would take two different paths from each other.
With teary eyes, Luna gave him a slight bow and excused herself, leaving Aiko extremely happy with the events.
“Luna… please…”
It was the first time for Luna to hear him like this, she wanted to hear what he would say. However, in her heart, she knew the two of them could never be. She was already President Li’s wife while he was about to become the father of another woman’s child.
Ah, finally! She finally won against Luna Jiang and successfully secured her place as the next madam of the Mo family!
Luna simply didn’t want to stay at the party anymore and went straight towards the elevator. She was really grateful that her husband didn’t give her a long dress, or else she would’ve been tripped with her face-planting on the marbled floor.
However, Jasper decided to chase after her to explain, surprising Aiko and Madam Mo. They couldn’t allow Jasper to follow Luna, or else their plan was for naught.
“Luna! Wait!” Jasper ran after her.
“Jasper, please don’t make a scene…” Madam Mo begged his stepson, glancing around them nervously.
Just as Luna was about to step into the elevator, a cold voice broke apart the tension and reached her ears.
