Mr. President Do You Mind If I Fall In Love With You? - Chapter 60
“I cannot promise that!” Luna cried more sadly.
How was she supposed to know that she wouldn’t get hurt again and would only shed happy tears in the future? Why was her husband trying to bully her?
How could she pretend that nothing was wrong and endure the pain she was in?
“Aren’t you tired of it? Don’t you think that you, Luna Jiang, also deserved to be happy?” Hero didn’t know why he felt uncomfortable seeing his wife in tears. “If Aiko Chen sees you like this, she will only laugh at your poor state. Don’t know what you’ve seen on that Jasper Mo, but if he truly cared for you, he would do everything to protect you.”
Thinking about what he said, Luna agreed with him. She also deserved some happiness for herself. They were silent for a few minutes until Luna heard him sigh.
“I’m not saying you should forget everything, but you have to move on and continue living your own life.”
When she calmed down, she pulled away from his embrace and apologized to him. His face was too close; everything was blurred because of her tears except his deep eyes. Hero was staring at her like she was the center of his universe.
“Do you believe me now?” Hero asked, turning to face her.
“Yes…”
The next second Hero had leaned down towards her and kissed her without a warning. Luna’s eyes widened. She felt him pressed against her mouth with his tongue slipping inside. In that single kiss, Luna could feel the intensity of his dėsɨrė for her.
His kiss wasn’t forceful, but instead, it had such patience, teasing her, waiting for her to respond… leaving her breathless along the way. She’d never been kissed like this before, and Luna felt like she would cry for the second time although she wasn’t sure why she would.
Fluttering her eyes close, Luna Jiang responded to his kiss. Her hands lifting to cup the side of his face gently as she felt herself being lifted from her seat and placed on his ŀȧp.
This was new for her, and yet Luna didn’t feel scared. She had an illusion that she belonged to him, and none would be able to hurt her as long as he was around.
His kiss held such confidence which didn’t surprise her.
As he released her lips, Luna buried her flushed face on his shoulder. She heard him sigh and felt him kiss her head affectionately.
“Luna, I’ll only say this once. In the future, you should avoid Jasper Mo at all costs. It doesn’t matter if he refuses to marry Aiko Chen. I also don’t care if you still have feelings for him. You may be courageous enough to walk away, letting him chose another woman in front of you… but I am not like him.”
He pushed her gently to see her blushing face and held one side of her face.
“But… but I don’t love you…” which was true. She didn’t love, and but that didn’t mean she would cheat on him. Jasper was the first man she had ever loved, and with the pain she had right now, Luna didn’t think she would be ready to accept and welcome Hero in her heart.
Why was Hero treating her well while they were just practically strangers to each other? Was it because they had spent the night together that Hero thought he should take responsibility for her?
“Luna Jiang, I really like you. I will not watch another man take you away from me, and if there’s one day you chose to go back to him, I will get you back at any cost. Even if I had to do underhanded ways to get you back. Do you understand what I mean?”
“Y-yes… I understand.” Luna couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
In his heart, did she really hold such a weight?
“Good.” Hero kissed her brow as a tear slid down from her eyes. “No more crying for Jasper Mo in the future.”
“Yes.” Luna wrapped her arms around him and rested her head on his shoulder. “I want to drink,” she murmured.
“Not allowed to drink!” she heard Hero said before she felt him bite her exposed shoulder.
“Boss, don’t be angry; I was just joking. Don’t bite me, ah!” she giggled.
Marrying and being Hero’s wife wasn’t in her plans. She had hesitated for a long time before she agreed to marry him for Julian’s sake. Thinking about it, would Hero help her back then regardless if she married him or not?
“Hero? If the Jiang family didn’t abandon me that night, will you still help me and Julian if I didn’t use myself as a bargaining chip?” she asked.
“You must be thinking I used a despicable way to trap you in a marriage,” Hero replied, his hand rubbing her back in slow circles. “To be honest, whether you propose to me or not didn’t matter. You’ll still end up as my wife since you bear my child. Helping Julian’s hospital bill just helped me cut the chase.” He chuckled.
“How arrogant of you, President Li.” She pouted and hit his ċhėst lightly. It was strange for her being in his arms, and yet she couldn’t find it repulsive at all.
“Miss Jiang, I’ve been called worse than that.” Hero’s amused voice reached her ears.
By the time they got home, night had fallen and enveloped the city in a blanket of darkness. She and Hero scurried down the path towards their house, their shoes slapping against the stone steps that led to the front door.
“Do you think Amber is already asleep?” Luna asked her husband and saw him shrugged.
“Pretty sure she stays up and waited for your return.” Hero guessed as he unlocked the door.
Just as he pushed the door open, Little Amber tackled Luna and wrapped her small arms on her leg.
“Baby, we’re home!” Luna beamed a smile.
