Mr. President Do You Mind If I Fall In Love With You? - Chapter 63
Luna was still wondering why Hero was being good to her. Although they got married because of a deal, she was still couldn’t believe that he wanted her as his wife. Was it just because they slept together that lead to a baby?
However, it couldn’t be the sole reason why he married her. A man so powerful and filthy rich like him could easily get a woman who could be his trophy wife, not her. She’s already gained more than enough from what she bargained for from this marriage, but what could Hero Li possibly want to gain from it?
Did he marry her for Little Amber’s sake? That was also a possibility.
The next day—after their breakfast, Hero once summoned her to the study. Hero placed a black card on his desk, giving it to Luna.
“What’s this for?” she asked confusedly.
“Do you really think I’ll let you walk around still using the old clothes and shoes that you have before marrying me?” Hero raised a brow at her. “Go and shop some clothes for you and Amber later. Since you say she needs some reassurance that we wouldn’t forget about her, you should pamper her more while the baby isn’t born yet.”
Luna frowned. “You do know this isn’t what she wanted, right? Can’t you at least give some time to spend with her?”
It was hard to describe the expression on her husband’s face. Why the heck he was hesitating over his own child?
Her gaze sharpened as she waited for his response.
“Hero!”
“Alright. I’ll see what I can do,” he promised.
Although it was hard to convince her husband, Luna knew he would keep his word as long as he agreed to it. Little Amber’s stubbornness really came from her father, Luna thought.
Then, they heard Amber’s crying from her room again. The two of them shared a knowing look, and Luna ġrȯȧnėd. Why was it always like this every morning?
“Don’t you think I should sleep next to Amber from now on?” she asked her husband as they made their way towards Little Amber’s room.
“No need,” Hero flatly rejected her suggestion. How was he able to seduce his wife if she’d be spending the night with that brat?
A loud crashing sound was heard from Little Amber’s room, and the couple increased their pace and hurried to see what happened. Within Little Amber’s room, the bedside lamp had ended up broken at the edge of her bed, and Luna panicked.
She hurriedly went to the crying child and patted her back gently.
The crying girl buried her face on her embrace, her soft and tiny arms wrapping around Luna’s neck tightly.
“I have enough of this crying, Amber.” Hero deadpanned. “Don’t make it difficult for us.”
Luna glanced at him disapprovingly.
“It’s alright, darling. Mommy’s here. Shhh…” she continued to pat Little Amber’s back and lifted her up from the bed. With Hero’s help, she was able to step out of the bed without tripping on her own foot.
“I won’t be going to work for today. I’ll stay with Amber,” she told Hero as they left the destroyed room so the servants could clean the mess the girl left inside. They descended the stairs and went to the front door as Hero was about to leave for work.
“Isn’t that the reason I told you to resign and stay with Amber?” Her husband sighed. “I might come home late later. Don’t wait for me anymore.” Hero ran his fingers on his daughter’s hair—the girl ceased crying as soon as Luna held her—while he stole a kiss on Luna’s lips, catching her off-guard.
“Call me if you need anything,” Hero said before turning around to leave, not giving Luna a chance to react to his kiss.
Luna was fuming with anger inside. This man! He was getting bolder lately and even went as far kissing her in front of Little Amber!
However, it seemed that Luna wasn’t the only one upset over the matter. Little Amber was scowling at her father as she watched him leave.
Just as Hero said that morning, his work ended up past midnight; he came home when everyone was asleep. He really had a long day and wanted to throw himself on the bed to get some sleep, but before that, he had to check on his daughter out of habit.
Since Luna didn’t need to worry about him, she decided to accompany Little Amber to sleep with her. The girl’s bed was too small for Luna’s height so she ended up inviting Little Amber to spend the night in her room.
This was why when Hero opened Little Amber’s room to check on her, he found the bed empty. Curious as to where his daughter was, he decided to check on Luna.
Her door was pushed open silently. His footsteps light as he walked inside and sat at the foot of the bed. Under the moonlight that passed through the curtains of the window, Hero found his wife and daughter snuggled next to each other.
Luna’s hand was still at Amber’s back, her breathing slow and shallow indicating she was deep asleep while Little Amber lay next to her peacefully. What took Hero’s attention were the matching pajamas the two were wearing.
How could be these two be so irresistibly cute at the same time? Hero thought it was unfair and too much for him to handle.
Hero removed his coat and shoes, too exhausted to move back to his own room. He slipped beneath the sheets and lay next to Amber. However, sleep didn’t come easily as he was briefly stunned by his wife’s innocent beauty.
Propping himself up on his pillows, he watched the woman sleeping peacefully next to his daughter. Luna was lying on her side, facing him and her long dark hair splayed out around her. Reaching out, he took a long strand of her hair and marveled at how soft it was. It was evident that she was good at taking care of her hair and skin in spite of her previous financial difficulties.
