Mr. President Do You Mind If I Fall In Love With You? - Chapter 65
The pair left Hero in Luna’s bedroom and made their way to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Since they decided to pay Corinne and Mia a visit, Luna prepared a light breakfast for them. They were halfway through making their meal when Hero, who’d already changed to his home clothes, came into the kitchen. He stood by the doorway, watching the pair laughing merrily. Luna was plating the pancake cooked while Little Amber was sitting over the kitchen counter, with an empty bowl on her arms, watching her every movement. Turning his attention to his wife, Hero smirked as he saw white patches of flour on her clothes, making his guess that she accidentally made a mistake while preparing her pancakes. His low laugh caused the two to lift their heads up in surprise. “Oh, Hero. You’re up,” Luna said awkwardly. Her previous thoughts started to emerge again in her mind. Curse these damn hormones! “So how come you ended up covered in flour? Luna Jiang, I’m really hungry this time, but this isn’t how I want to eat you,” Hero said with a wide grin. Luna felt so embarrassed; she wanted to throw something on Hero’s face at that moment to make him shut up. This man was getting better at pissing her off, and she didn’t like it. Meanwhile, poor Little Amber was thinking about why her father wanted to eat her mommy alive. Was he some kind of a monster she’d seen on television? She gasped and pulled Luna’s sleeve. Little Amber decided not to leave her mommy alone with her monster daddy! Hero shook his head in amusement. It certainly seemed like that his life turned out to be better and interesting after marrying Luna Jiang. Eventually, Luna finished preparing their breakfast and placed them on the table before turning to Hero. “Do you want to eat pancakes as well or something else?” “I want to eat someone. I bet she’s really tasty and one of a kind.” Hero’s eyes were slightly hooded as he licked his lips while looking at his wife. “I mean food!” Luna exclaimed with a slight blush on her cheeks. “Oh? You aren’t included in the menu? Such a pity.” Hero feigned his disappointment before taking a seat next to Little Amber. “I’ll have the same with what Amber has except the milk.” Luna gave them a plate of pancake tower and a freshly brewed coffee. “I’ll be taking Amber out with me if that’s okay with you…” She bit her lip, not sure if Hero would allow it. Hero raised a brow on her before placing a chunk of pancake he cut from his plate. “Luna, you’re my wife and Amber’s mother. You don’t need to ask permission every time you want to go out with her so long that you’ll bring your driver and bodyguard with you.” He hated it when she wasn’t certain. Hero liked her the most when she’s strong and decisive that she wouldn’t rely on anybody to prove her point. The smile that bloomed on Luna’s face made his heart skip a beat. Hero wondered what this woman did to him. It was as if he couldn’t say no to her wishes. “Thanks, Hero. Don’t worry. I’ll make sure Amber will be safe, and we’ll come back home early.” Hero shrugged and continued to eat his breakfast. He made a mental note to give her a call later just in case she lost track of time again. —- When Luna and Little Amber arrived at Corinne’s apartment, Fluffy—who came with them—ran inside and found Mia playing in the living area. “Fluffy!” The little girl squealed and shot to her feet to tackle the big white dog she dearly missed. “I miss you, Fluffy! Did you arrive with Auntie Luna?” Mia gave Fluffy a head pat and a hug before running to the front door to see her Auntie Luna. There, she saw her mother talking to her Auntie Luna, but Auntie didn’t arrive alone as there was a cute little girl in her arms. Mia thought that she was so pretty like those dolls she’d seen at malls but were too expensive for her mommy to buy. The little girl had a pair of round brown eyes, a small nose, pinkish lips, and chubby cheeks. “Oh, Luna. You’re here.” Corinne greeted her and let them step inside her apartment. “Is this Little Amber? Boss Li’s daughter?” she asked and saw how the girl wrapped her arms tighter around Luna’s neck and hid her face. “It’s okay, baby.” Luna patted her small back. “She’s mommy’s friend. Say hi to your Auntie Corinne?” Little Amber shifted in her mommy’s arms before facing Corinne. She glanced at the woman’s face before hiding again on her mommy’s embrace. “Sorry. She’s still not used in meeting other people,” Luna apologized. Corinne waved a hand and laughed. Of course, she already heard about the rumors about their Boss Li’s daughter. People said she was mute, but Luna had told her that wasn’t the case. Little Amber used to speak before, but she refused to speak a word since her third birthday. “It’s okay, Luna. I understand that she’s all new to this. Hopefully, meeting new people and making friends will help her trust people around her so she could speak again.” Meanwhile, Mia clung to her mother’s thɨġh and watched Little Amber in silence. So this is her Auntie Luna’s new baby? But Auntie Luna’s baby couldn’t speak? They all moved in the spacious living area where Mia’s toys scattered everywhere and Corinne had to move and clear away Luna’s path so she wouldn’t trip from the toys. Luna brought down Little Amber to sit on the couch before introducing her to Mia. “Baby, didn’t I say I want you to meet someone?” Little Amber nodded on her question. Luna then gestured to Mia to come closer to her which the latter agreed easily. “Hi, Auntie Luna. I miss you,” she said before placing a kiss on her Auntie Luna’s cheek. “Miss you too, darling.” Luna patted her head. “By the way, this is my baby, Amber. I hope the two of you can be friends. What do you think, Mia?” “If Amber is okay with it… okay,” Mia answered back. “Good.” Luna smiled brightly then turned to Little Amber. “Baby, this is Mia. She’s Auntie Corinne’s baby. Would you like to play with her?” Little Amber held her mommy’s hand tight, but Luna gave it a squeeze, telling her there’s nothing to be worried about as long as she was around. Little Amber glanced at Mia’s way before nodding. She rose from her seat and let Mia drag her away and bring her to the playroom. “Such a beautiful child, but she lost her mom too early,” Corinne commented once they were out of their kids’ earshot. “It also didn’t help that she has a workaholic father who bȧrėly stays at home with her.” Luna sighed as she sat on the couch with Fluffy and ran her fingers on his thick white fur. “Hmm, is he ignoring you, too?” her friend asked. Luna ġrȯȧnėd at that. Her husband wasn’t ignoring her at all. He was trying to seduce her at any given chance. The blush on her cheeks was her answer to Corinne’s question. “No way, Luna Jiang. Don’t tell me you’re in love with your husband now?” she teased. Luna gasped on her accusation. “What? No way!” she exclaimed. Who’s in love with that jerk? It was definitely not her, Luna Jiang. Luna swore she wouldn’t fall easily for her husband’s charm. Ah, but it was so hard. The kiss he’d given her after leaving Jasper’s birthday party was haunting her in her dreams. Speaking of Jasper’s birthday party, she hadn’t seen Corinne in the said event. “Didn’t you say you’ll meet me at Jasper’s party? Where were you?” she asked her friend who was busy pouring her some tea and serving some cakes for her to eat. “I went there, ah! It was you who I couldn’t find at the party. I’m the one who should ask that question.” Corinne demanded. “Well…” Luna scratched her cheek. “I was with Joanna Li and Jasmine Xuan after Hero and I arrived. Then later, Aiko appeared out of nowhere.” She then proceeded to narrate how she found out about Aiko being pregnant with Jasper’s child and how the latter insisted he will not marry her and tried to bully me.” “That bitch! No wonder she’s been sticking and following Jasper wherever he goes, but for his own family to conspire with Aiko and drug him? Wow, I somewhat feel pity for Jasper now.” Luna went silent. Yes, she also felt pity for Jasper, but this could have been avoided if he’d learned how to man up and protect their relationship. However, it was too late for him to change as she’s already bound to Hero Li as his wife. “Jasper said he would never marry Aiko Chen, but I’m sure you know Aiko will force him to.” “Eh? Luna, haven’t you watched the news or read the newspapers? Jasper vehemently denied their engagement and asked the public not to believe Aiko’s lies. With him turning his back on Aiko, it caused a big rift between the Mo and the Chen families. Jasper would have a hard time running away from that witch.”
