Ning shook her head to snap herself out of her daze and it was then that she realized that many people were looking at her direction.

She was so embarrassed that she could only keep her head down, her silky hair blocking other people’s view of her face.

Master Xia and Madam Xia paid him no mind as they turned to Xia Jiannan who was about to leave.

“You’re leaving so soon?” Madam Xia asked rather dejectedly.

She was actually looking forward for today since this was one of those rare moments when all of them were present. But it seemed like they could not spend the day together.

“Hm. I have a board meeting scheduled at 10 a.m. I cancelled it yesterday so I have to attend to it today.” Xia Jiannan said as he stood up in his seat.

Oh, right! He went out with that mysterious woman yesterday so he had to make up for the work that he had left behind.

Realizing this, Madam Xia smiled and nodded her head in understanding, “Alright, take care of yourself and don’t push yourself too hard, okay?”

“Hm.” Xia Jiannan grunted in response.

After giving his mother and father a bow, Xia Jiannan promptly excused himself.

Di Yi and Di Er followed suit, doing their duty as Xia Jiannan’s bodyguards.

With that, he left the dining room together with Secretary Cheng, Di Yi and Di Er.
