Ms. CEO is His Bodyguard - Chapter 48
When Secretary Cheng saw this scene, he almost dropped the tablet in shock!
If letting Xia Jiannan lean on the young man’s shoulder already brought great surprise to Secretary Cheng, then this… this…
He did not know how he was supposed to react!
“Please have a look at the report, Mr. Cheng.” Wang Rouxi calmly reminded after noticing him lost in thought.
“Hmm…” Secretary Cheng just hummed in response as he absentmindedly turned back on his seat.
Did the Master and Madam know about the First Young Master…?
Secretary Cheng did not continue on that thought, shaking his head from side to side to clear off his mind.
Maybe I should just read through this report to distract myself.
Yes, that’s the best thing to do right now.
Nodding at himself, Secretary Cheng focused all his attention towards the words and figures on the document. He was slightly curious as to what the young man meant when he mentioned the ‘minor errors’ which he had corrected.
At first, Secretary Cheng was scrolling down through the entire document nonchalantly. He was quite confident about his work.
But when he reached a certain part of this familiar yet unfamiliar report, Secretary Cheng’s hand shook.
Why didn’t he notice this before?
From surprise to shock, Secretary Cheng’s expression undergone drastic changes until all that he could feel was utter disbelief.
Sure enough, the ones Di Yi had pointed out were mistakes that were easily overlooked!
But those seemingly minor errors could possibly ruin the CEO’s reputation.
Secretary Cheng looked up and stared at Wang Rouxi in admiration through the rearview mirror.
If he was not the one who prepared the report, Secretary Cheng would probably thought that she was the one who did it.
As he watched this young man named Di Yi caressing Xia Jiannan’s hair, Secretary Cheng would never have thought that ‘he’ was actually the replacement of Wang Empire Estates’ CEO Wang Shenyun.
Glancing back down at the tablet in his hand, Secretary Cheng reached the end of the document and realized that Di Yi had left some notes there:
> Be mindful of the length of the CEO’s opening speech. If you make it too short, it would seem like he doesn’t care and is not engaged. If you make it too long, he would seem arrogant, ponderous and self-absorbed.
> Some statements are redundant and unnecessary…
Reading these extremely helpful reminders, Secretary Cheng was filled with gratitude.
He knew that this was not a part of their job as a bodyguard, but Di Yi still offered his help.
Secretary Cheng clenched his fist. He would surely find time to thank the young man.
On the other hand, Lu Sha who was driving the car had his eyes concentrated on the road ahead.
Contrary to what others had speculated, he was not showing anything on his face that might give him away.
Out of sight, out of mind.
No matter what happened at the backseat, Lu Sha never did move his eyes away from the road.
Lu Sha felt dissatisfied, yes. But he knew that this kind of scene was only temporary, or so he thought.
“Go faster.” An indifferent voice came through suddenly.
Although he didn’t know for what reason, Lu Sha immediately complied. He shifted the gears and stepped on the gas pedal, almost driving past the speed limit.
Without waiting for Lu Sha to ask, Wang Rouxi informed him of their current situation. “We’re being followed.”
Secretary Cheng was too engrossed in the report that he did not manage to properly catch Wang Rouxi’s subsequent words.
He thought that Wang Rouxi was merely being considerate that she didn’t want the CEO Xia to be late.
Lu Sha was just about to ask Wang Rouxi what to do with their pursuers when the latter said calmly, “Turn left at the next intersection.”
“Got it.” Lu Sha replied succinctly, sitting up straight, cracking his neck.
He was ready for his Lordship’s further instructions.
Wang Rouxi would definitely be best consulted on what to do in this kind of situation.
However, their exchange managed to gain Secretary Cheng’s attention.
“Wait! We should turn right at the next intersection,” reminded Secretary Cheng obliviously.
Lu Sha just turned a deaf ear on Secretary Cheng’s words as he shifted lanes, preparing to turn left.
Seeing that he was ruthlessly ignored, Secretary Cheng turned towards Wang Rouxi and said exasperatedly, “Mr. Di Yi, please tell your brother that we should turn right at the next intersection.”
Wang Rouxi did not bother about what Secretary Cheng had said, and instead told him, “”Please remain seated and buckle your seatbelt, Mr. Cheng.”
She then pulled Xia Jiannan closer in her embrace to prevent him from falling over.
“Route 7.” Wang Rouxi instructed.
Lu Sha nodded in affirmation as he stepped on the accelerator.
The clueless secretary became more restless as he glanced back and forth at these two new bodyguards of his boss.
“Wha…what are you planning?” Secretary Cheng started biting his nails in nervousness out of habit. “We are supposed to go to Xia Corporation’s main company building!”
