Music System In A Cultivation World: What The Fck? - Chapter 226
I glared at the screen with the same look I would have if the system had killed all eight generations of my family.
“You’ve been stealing points from me, haven’t you!?!”
You’re laughing at me.
Are you F*CKING SERIOUS!??!
Sighing, I placed a hand on my glabella and took deep, calming breaths. It didn’t matter to me how the system was going to act, but I needed to get to the bottom of this.
This time, I said my words aloud, the seriousness in my voice different from all of the other times. “System, tell me the truth. Why have you been acting this way so far?”
I stared at the screen before me, its 10×20 inch length and width starting to make me wish it had a non-transparency button. I wanted to clearly see what it was going to say.
< Pre-requisites completed. System will evolve to Version 3.0. Initiating. 1 minute, 20 seconds remaining. >
My expression grew colder as I noticed the timer on the screen slowly count down, my heartbeat beating in time to every second that passed. Finally, the screen showed 0:00, and I was in anticipation to see what was next.
< Host has unlocked the necessary pre-requisites, Version 3.0 has been unlocked. Does Host wish for a full explanation? >
“Yes.”
< Understood. >
The whirring of computer noises sounded in the room, and a curious expression appeared on my face. The system seemed to be different than usual.
< Host has been chosen to transmigrate into body of Jin Yahui, owner of void spirit veins with 99% rarity and purity. Is this correct? >
“Yes.”
More computer noises, until finally a large amount of text appeared before me.
< Host did not have the adequate soul force to stay within body of original Host, Jin Yahui. Furthermore, the body was tainted with substance %[email protected]!$. Without the system’s assistance, Host would have died a second time, unable to reincarnate to the next life. >
“Bullsh*t. What do you mean without your help I would have died? I don’t believe this at all!” a scowl surfaced on my face, and a vein throbbed on my forehead. I was done with joking around. I wanted answers. Now.
< Substance %[email protected]!$ is a stronger substance than was injected in the body of ‘Junior Brother’. Previous Jin Yahui had died due to this. >
“You mean… demon poison?” I looked at the screen in utter surprise, my eyebrows almost leaving my face and hitting the ceiling above. “But what do you mean that you had to help me? What did you do?”
“So that’s why the points were being used in a ridiculous manner. But why couldn’t you help me by yourself?>
“Alright, that’s fair. But why were you shipping me with junior brother?!?”
< All versions below 3.0 have been aligned to give outsiders the impression that Host has gone crazy. >
“Why!?!”
< Host does not have access to information. >
OTZ
Taking a deep breath, I replied with, “Fine. Why are you so useless? You haven’t helped me at all, instead you’ve been an utter sh*t?”
< As said previously, all versions below 3.0 have been aligned to give outsiders the impression that Host has gone crazy. Furthermore, system is a ‘Music System’ and cannot help Host in any way. >
“Why not?”
< Target 1 will grow suspicious. >
I looked in shock at the screen. Target 1? Who the f*ck was Target 1? Opening my mouth, the question spilled out of my mouth faster than a bullet train, “Who is Target 1, System?”
< Host does not have access to information. >
Fair enough. But what if… “Is Target 1 the traitor in the diary of the previous Jin Yahui?”
< … System will check data. Data check in progress. 43 seconds. >
I patiently waited until I saw one word appear on the screen. One that had my blood boiling.
< Yes. >
“Was I transmigrated here to get rid of Target 1?”
< Yes. >
“Why?”
< Host’s soul was the most suitable for the body of Jin Yahui, despite being too weak to survive the poison.>
“Alright,” I nodded, my mind going a mile a minute. One last question surfaced in my mind, but I was scared for the answer. “Is Target 1 the same person who poisoned the past Jin Yahui?”
A single black word appeared in the translucent screen, and my boiling blood instantly cooled. I couldn’t help but feel as if the difficulty of this ‘mission’ increased by a large margin.
< Yes. >
Taking a deep breath, I looked out of the window, the darkening of the skies conveying the near end of the day.
“Hey, System.”
<yes, host?=””></yes,>
“What about my ‘cultivation techniques’? How did I make that demon cultivator and the rabbit disappear?”
< Host did not make them disappear. Instead, Host was in the transitional period between assimilating with the body and with the poison. System used the bodies of the demons for a faster transition. However, it required many more points, so Host was in ‘debt’ for a while.>
“Until now?”
< Yes. >
I sighed and raked a hand through my hair. “Can I return to my world after I defeat Target 1?”
< Host does not have access to information. >
“Can you stop shipping me with junior brother?”
< … >
“Please?”
< Yox. >
“What? What does that mean?”
< Host must be careful from now on. Version 3.0 will still be in operation, however the previous version will be default. >
“D*mn it! At least answer my previous question!”
< Host must complete three missions:
1.) Find Target 1.
2.) Defeat Target 1.
3.) Save world. >
The f*ck is up with the last one!? It’s like the difficulty shot through the roof!
< Version 3.0 will be in stand-by mode. Any last questions, Host? >
I shook my head no. It seems that I truly did have a lot more to do in my to-do list. D*mn it.
