My Beautiful Love - Chapter 627
“Power outage? How’s that possible?” Yun Xuan expressed her shock.
“I don’t know what happened either.” Lin Ye sighed. “You’re not afraid of the dark, are you?”
“Pfft… that would be crazy.”
Lin Ye chuckled, hiding his disappointment. If she was scared of the dark, he would take it as a heaven sent opportunity for the hero to save the belle. Who knows, he might even get to hug her.”
What was scary was that his brain started thinking up things he shouldn’t be thinking about..
Despite the darkness, Yun Xuan really had to leave.
If she didn’t leave soon, the atmosphere would become increasingly awkward.
On her way out, she frowned, finding it strange. Why was it that only Lin Ye’s villa was shrouded in darkness? The city was well lit up.
….
As soon as she left, a bodyguard came rushing in.
“Master, I found the culprit.”
He was talking about the incident of Yun Xuan’s kidnapping. Despite being unable to move around freely and find the culprit himself, he sent his men to do it. He had even spent a whole hour convincing Xia Rou to leave this matter to him.
Sure enough, his bodyguards were still as capable as ever. “Who is he?”
It’s Yun Feiwen. He wanted Miss Yun dead.”
When the kidnapping failed, he had quickly deviced another plan to get Yun Xuan into jail. As soon as she got in there, she would not leave. He would find people to create a little ‘accident’ and finish her off right on the first day.
Since he failed, he had not given up completely. He was waiting for a better chance to strike.
When the bodyguard reported this, Lin Ye’s face contorted in anger. “Do what’s necessary.”
“Master you mean… I should get rid of him..?!”
“What, you thought I would sue him? He will not be charged with anything considering he was clever enough to not leave any trails. That’ll only waste time and alert the enemy.”
Considering Lin Ye’s solemn tone, the bodyguard was speechless. He had never heard such words leave his master’s mouth, much less in such a murderous tone. All this for a woman?
“Do a clean job.” Lin Ye warned.
“Y-yes.”
….
News of Yun Feiwen’s disappearance broke out in the next few days.
The Yun family intended to keep the news under wraps but when they couldn’t contact him on the fourth day, they were filled with panic.
Madam Yun was beside herself with anxiety. Her maternal instincts kept warning her that her son had encountered some danger.
“Mother, calm down already. Feiwen is not a baby. It’s not like he would get lost or anything; perhaps he simply wants to take some time away from everything and cool off. He will surely be back.” Yun Shan said to his mother who had paced the living room so much that he was getting dizzy just looking at her.
“That is what I want to believe. However, since when does Feiwen want to distance himself from anything? He’s obviously not that type of person, okay?”
The woman looked like she had aged overnight. The wrinkles above her eyebrows when she frowned served as concrete evidence for that.
Her usually bright and cheerful face was now haggard. She had even grown some strands of gray hair all in two days.
Just when she was about to pull all the hair off her head, her cell phone rang.
“Hello, have you found any news of him?” Her first thought was that one of the people she had contacted to help with the search had found him.
“Madam, you may want to come over to my office.” The man replied.
His tone sounded ominous, making Madam Yun’s heart tremble. Had something happened to her son?
Without caring about her image, she dashed out of the house, the startled Yun Shan following her in panic.
…
“Where’s my son? What happened to him?” Madam Yun fired off questions as soon as she arrived.
Then she saw something strange. The private investigator had company… and the man accompanying him was a doctor. Why was it getting scarier by the second?
“You… my son…”
“Madam, please calm down. This is what we found.”
The doctor passed over a phone and a specimen bag. The bag had a shirt which they had no choice but bring back to her.
As expected, she looked terrified when she saw the two items. “These… this is Feiwen’s. Where’s he?”
“We only found these. I have done a DNA test and the blood on the shirt is Yun Feiwen’s. Aside from that, only his fingerprints are on the phone. He must have dropped it while trying to call for help. We found nothing else, I’m sorry.”
The woman stared into space for some seconds before she broke down into sobs. How could this be?
Her son wasn’t dead, right? He was coming back. He must be coming back…
“How’s the investigation going?” Asked Yun Shan who had arrived a while ago and was silent since his arrival.
The private investigator knew that he was referring to the fact that this was obviously a murder. They had to investigate what happened. However… “I’m sorry. We couldn’t find any evidence in the crime scene and there are no witnesses either. We have reached a dead end.”
___
In the living room of the Yun mansion sat a mother and son pair. One was crying her eyes out while the other racked his brains.
“If I find out who did this to my younger brother, I will not let them off. Damn it! He’s just an innocent young man. Who did he offend?”
The moment that last word left his mouth, the woman on the sofa widened her eyes that were red and swollen.
“Not possible!”
“Huh? Mom what are you muttering? What’s not possible?”
Her voice shook as did her hands. “He did offend someone recently. But how could it be?
How could she be so cruel?” She broke into a fresh bout of sobs.
“Mom, what are you talking about?”
Madam Yun was no longer listening to her son. “I’m going to ask her about it.”
