My Bio-Nanotech System - Chapter 23: Who Is Ripping Off Who?
Chapter 23: Who Is Ripping Off Who?
“Huuu…” Khan weaved a sigh of relief after moving far enough from the office.
Getting signed up and also signing up for the mission. It was all stressful but he pulled through in the end. And that was a rare case as just confirmation might take an entire week, but he got it in less than 24 hours and even secured a mission at the same time.
“Now…” Khan’s eyes flashed as he brought out the map from his pockets, his gaze roaming around it before keeping it back and moving towards the lower floor.
With the Mission now secured, it was time for him to prepare himself too… Ne/w novel chapt𝒆rs are published on no/vel(/bin(.)co/m

“And how much is this?” Khan asked pointing towards a rifle in a glass case.
“Oh, that is the M11 Assault Rifle. It is a rare grade weapon able to burn through 9th grade Abyssal creatures with ease and even trouble some Meteor rank stage beasts…” The voice of the old man rang out as Khan looked at the dark rifle, his eyes furrowed before shining with bright light.
‘This is the real deal…’ Yet his eyes held no emotion as he brought out another piece of equipment. A golden-colored Katana, with the design of a fanged demon on its entire length.
“And this?”
“That is the Oni Kitsuni. A light katana at the rare grade weapon. Capable of slicing through iron if properly wielded…”
“Hmm, not bad”
“What about this? They’re cute too right…” Khan said bringing out another glass where a pair of daggers could be seen, their edge creating a sharp light that refracted on Khan’s face.
“Those are low-level rare-grade weapons. Light as a feather yet cut through flesh like butter.
“Nice. I’ll be taking these too” Khan said as he brought out 10 other equipment…
“Hmm, 10 button-sized exploding grenades!? The old man asked as Khan gave a nod.
“So how much is all of this?” He suddenly asked causing the old man’s poor jaws to almost fall to the ground.
Normally, adventurers regularly come to his Tech shop to access tools necessary for their mission but rarely do they buy. The majority of the time, they just ask and then leave.
The old man was already used to the job, giving the adventure the information about the tools that the majority of the time can only dream of, but never did he truly consider the young man would talk of buying everything he mentioned and judging from his expression, it seems he was pretty serious too.
‘Hmm, the rich one isn’t it…’ The foggy thought plans to formulate quickly in his foxy brain.
“Well, with one look I can tell you’re really in need of the weapons for a very important job that’ll be coming soon. And also you know what they say, no matter how much money you have, you can’t buy a second from Yama. So you definitely have…”
“Hey, old man. Get it all out already…” Khan said, his brows scrunched up in impatient.
“Perhaps your mission is closer than I think. Well, the katana is 2,000 star coins. The daggers are 1500 star coins. The rifle is 4,000 star coins and each of the exploding grenades is 100 star coins each making the entire ten 1000 star coins. That makes a total of 10,000 star coins. Cheap right?” The old man asked with a gentlemanly smile but a thunderous snort rang out in the room.
“It seems you truly have gotten old, old foggy. 2000 and 1500, and 4000, and 1000 star coins make 10,000?” Khan snorted coldly in disdain.
“Oh, forgive me young one. This one is just getting old. My mistake, it is just 8500..” The old man said with an apologetic smile.
‘Seems like he has something in that small skull of his…’
“So how much is the discount?” Khan asked ignoring the old man. He was just too familiar with this situation.
“Well, of course, money is nothing compared to life. Still, it is an essential tool to live. Therefore, I’ll be merciful and reduce your burden. How about just 8000 star coins? You have to know our Abyssal Core Guild only sells the best Hunting tools in all of EC…”
“And I’m also sure you know who the head of the Abyssal Core Guild is, don’t you…” Khan asked with eyes furrowed as he stood tall, raising his voice a few octaves higher.
“Um..of course I do. If it’s not the revered Sir Atherston…” The old man replied but got shut as a hand slammed down on the table, almost causing his heart to leap out of his chest.
As Khan moved back his hand, the old man picked up the card dropped on his table…
“I’m guessing you know who that signature belongs to right?” Khan asked as the old man looked at the card, his eyes widening in shock.
“This mission is directed by the Base Head himself. And you want to rip me off, one of the adventurers on the next mission that might as well change the course of the entire human race.
It seems you’ve finally found another job in the wilds haven’t you..” Khan said swiping away the card from the man’s hands as he brought out a handkerchief and cleaned the place that he touched before carefully hiding it in his pocket.
The old man finally gave the young man in front of him a good look as his eyes flashed in horror and sweat dripped down the back of his neck.
‘It seems I’ve underestimated who he is…”
“Hahahahaha. Forgive me. I never knew you were sent on such an important mission by the Base Head himself! Forgive me, how about we agree on 4000 star coins…”
Slowly, Khan opened the suitcase in his hands as he brought out three notes placing it in front of the old man…
“Hey, I said 4000 star coins…” The old man grumbled.
“3000 star coins and Sir Atherston won’t know I was here…” Khan said winking at the man who clenched his teeth tightly.
“Tch, FINE…” The old man screamed out splashing spittle on Khan’s face whose satisfied smirk only widened even more as he packed all the goods in a black-coloured suitcase.
And immediately he patted his butt as he turned back immediately…
“It was nice doing business with you. Honestly, you’re such a good old man. I look forward to our next business…” Khan said with a sadistic smile as he walked out, an even more sadistic grin on his face.
“I wish you SUCCESS on your mission…” The old man said gnashing his teeth in anger as black smoke rose out of his head.
“Even wishing me success. What a big heart…” Khan’s voice rang out in the place slowly fading away.
“Tch, damn kid…”
