My Boyfriend Is A Campus Bad Boy - Chapter 198
Fear flashed on his face while the old man looked at somewhere distant. He seemed bothered but he has no the courage to tell it to the young alpha who was patiently waiting for him.
He sighed, clasped his hands and took the knife and an apple from the basket. “Do you want me to peel it, grandpa?” he asked.
Looking through the wide window, Sebastian waited for his answer. But a few seconds passed, still, Lord Solomon didn’t utter a single word.
He shook his head, “Alright, I guess you don’t want to eat it right now.” Sebastian walked into the side table and put back the apple and knife.
“Peel it for me, young man.” said Lord Solomon and took a deep breath.
He slightly turned his head, glanced up at him and told Sebastian to come closer. “I have something to tell you, Sebastian.”
A serious, frightening voice echoed around the wide, spacious and quiet room. It confused Sebastian but he obeyed the ill old man’s order.
After all, he was once the strongest beast among the rest and he was the reason why he became the new leader of the last pack of pure blood alphas.
“Huh,” Sebastian gasped, seated into the white chair close to Lord Solomon. As he peeled off the apple’s skin, he crossed his legs and he said, “What is all about, Grandpa?”
“Are you done peeling that off?”
“Here we go! But, wait…”
Lord Solomon leaned back to the wall as he took the skinless apple from his hands. He chuckled, winked at Sebastian who got confused and surprised by his strange actions and strength.
“Oh, look at your face Sebastian! You looked handsome even you’re surprised!”
Abruptly, he took a bite and gnawed it gracefully. He looked healthy and full of strength but he didn’t say anything about it. “Shut your mouth, Sebastian before an insect walked inside of it.”
Sebastian blinked his eyes twice, looked down at his feet and chuckled mischievously. “You seemed unbothered and healthy, grandpa.”
It wasn’t a statement but a meaningful question, yet the old man took another bite on the apple and chewed it into tiny pieces.
“Are you really sick or you’re just creating a story to… t-to confuse our enemy? Is that what you’re trying to tell me?”
“Do you still remember the time I warned you about the girl you saw in the cemetery, don’t you?”
Lord Solomon grasped the apple tightly enough to scrunch it. “I know until now you’re asking me the reason why I’ve warned you that bright, sunny day. Am I right, Sebastian?”
Pain and longingness drawn on his face as he swallowed greedily like a thirsty beggar. He thought he already forgot everything about Cassia, but still, he was hoping that one day… one sunny day, under the bright sky, he would meet her for the last time.
Bowing his head in despair, holding back burning feeling he had felt. Sebastian tried to utter a word but his tongue was twisted up and no words came out from his mouth.
“Rumors says that her parents were killed by witches…,” Lord Solomon continued that awakened the anger within the young alpha’s chest. “And she is a… witch too.”
For a moment, Sebastian’s heart was pricked by needles that brought an unbearable pain. He couldn’t accept the truth that his first love was a witch- an enemy aside from Markus’ family.
“I know it would be hard for you to let her go so I decided not to tell you her real identity.” he added.
“B-but… w-wh-why are you telling me all of these? Now that I’ve learned to love Halora, for heaven’s sake your driving me crazy, grandpa!”
After a long silence, Sebastian burst into anger, stood out and went into the window. He facepalmed, grabbed up his hair in disbelief.
“How could you… h-how c-co-could you do this to me? How could you bear to see me broken, and crying in pain because I lost her! And I didn’t get a chance to know her more!”
“She will drag you to the brink of death. Your life will be at stake, Sebastian!”
“I don’t fucking care about this life of mine! All my life… all my life, I’ve been longing of her voice… of h-her innocent, genuine smile!”
Lord Solomon took a dee breath as he knew that it would happen. He was right, his prediction and fears finally came true. “You can’t love her, for pete’s sake! You can’t marry, have a child and live together with a witch!”
“We will never let you choose that girl over us… your family!” he gritted his teeth and looked at Sebastian sharply.
Everything he did was for his own sake. If he didn’t hide the truth, at a very young age, Sebastian would have been dead. Because a beast and a witch weren’t meant for each other, they were born to be mortal enemies until their very las breath.
But according to the prophecy, there was only thing that could break the curse and end the war between the two powerful creatures.
And until now, no one had ever read and seen the sacred antidote that will put an end to the bloody feud that started many years ago.
In desperation, Sebastian closed his fists and furiously punched the wall. He didn’t stop until he saw blood on his fingers.
“Don’t hurt yourself again. At the right time, you’ll understand why I chose to let her go instead of ending her life that day.” said Lord Solomon. He glanced up at the ceiling, took another bite of the apple that stayed in his palm for a couple of minutes.
By then, a long deafening silence filled around that somehow calmed Sebastian. He was breathing heavily, closed his eyes as his entire body trembled and shivered.
“Go back to Zenith’s room… and once you got it all, come here back and I’ll tell you everything about her…,” he told Sebastian who tried to calm down and set aside the burning, fatal emotions. “I’ll wait for you, my dearest grandson. I know you’ll come on the right time.” he added and turned his back on him.
