My Career is Useless in this World!! - Chapter 219
Episode 212- Karma exists you know?
“Now, say it! Say it! If you don’t, I will make your pain worse!” The man laughed happily as he taunted the old couple. He was genuinely happy, not knowing that someone had arrived behind him and had been staring at him for a while already.
“Huh? Why does it feel cold behind my back?” The man scratched his back as he turned around only to meet a figure 15cm shorter than him.
“Huh?” Before the figure could even think, Eugene jumped up and punched him heavily on his jaw. A crack could be heard and without a doubt, it was the sound of his jaw breaking to pieces. The bandit fell to the ground in shock, not from pain, but from the shock that he was suddenly attacked.
His eyes were blurry and when he realized what had happened to him, pain rushed through his body. But no matter how much he wanted to scream, his mouth couldn’t open. The only that could be heard from the man was his moans and groans. However, even that was covered by the old couple’s scream.
A crack could be heard as Eugene stretched her head left and right. After stretching her neck, she walked to the table calmly and picked up an object.
“You have so much money but you are still greedy for more. Even to the point of killing one’s family mercilessly.” Eugene grabbed a syringe and tapped it slowly to the table. The syringe contained the same kind of liquid the bandit injected the old couple with.
“You’re no longer human. Just a monster, striving to seek excitement by watching others in pain.” Her brows raised as she stared at him with a blank face.
“MPHHH! MPHHHH!” The man on the ground screamed. His screams however were not loud and muffled.
The old couple who was in pain saw that the situation was wrong for the bandit who killed their family. Even though they were aware of this, everything seemed fuzzy and unclear since they were in excruciating pain and wanted nothing more than to be free of it.
“What should we do with you?” Eugene walked to the man who was still on the ground. Naturally, the man wasn’t about to let Eugene come closer so he got up. But just as he got up, his knees were kicked very hard from behind. No need to mention falling, his knee cap fell out of the lock, making him disabled in an instant. The man’s calves hung loosely as he cried in agony.
“Now, now. Don’t leave.” Eugene smiled as her leg stepped on one of his calves. Sure his legs were out of the lock, but that didn’t mean his legs weren’t still connected to his body. Eugene slowly but surely increased the weight on his calves, eventually breaking one of his legs completely.
“MPHHHHHH!”
“Let’s see.” Eugene retracted her leg and walked behind the man. She reached for his hair, yanked it, and dragged him in front of the couple. The bandit didn’t know what she was going to do until he felt a sharp pain in his neck. He could feel the liquid slowly entering from the needle into his neck as his body began to tremble violently from realizing what she had just done.
“Karma exists you know?” She whispered softly. Her whisper that no one could hear as the basement was filled with screams of pain.
Eugene turned to the couple and asked, “What should I do with him? Make him suffer even more?” She tilted her head as she asked the old couple with a smile on her face.
Through pain, the grandpa nodded. His teeth were gritted however he looked at Eugene with eyes filled with resolution.
The man was shaking violently in pain as though he was going into a shock, Eugene didn’t care. Why would she care when he was going to die anyway. Once again, she dragged him by the hair to the fireplace in the basement. She reached for his jacket, lifted him, and threw him inside the fireplace filled with wood that had yet to be burned.
After that, she walked back to the elderly couple and moved their chairs sideways for them to watch the show. She grabbed the oil gourd on the table along with a torch she lit up with the lamp and walked towards the man.
The bandit of course knew what she was going to do and began to struggle violently. But the more he struggled the more painful it was for him, not to mention, he was unable to move or crawl hence it proved completely useless.
Eugene opened the gourd of oil and threw it to the man stuck inside the fireplace.
“Now, say hi to satan for me.” Eugene smiled and not a second after that her smile fell as she watched the red show. Only moans of agony could be heard followed by the intense smell of skin burning. And though the smell was one of the worst smells a human being can smell, the visual presentation that can be seen in the elderly couple’s eyes and Eugene’s eyes was something they will never be able to forget.
Eugene turned around and walked to the couple.
“Now. What do you want to do? Do you want to escape? Or do you want to die?” Though her sentence was harsh, she asked as gently as possible. The reason why Eugene asked such a thing was that she knew that there would be no one waiting for them at home. And to a normal human being… there would no longer be any point in living.
“K..Kill. Us.” The grandmother muttered through her teeth gritted.
“….” Eugene stared at the old couple for a good few seconds. She observed them carefully, as if she was memorizing their faces. Once she was done, she stepped back, bowed to the older couple before walking over to them. She used her palm to knock the old couple out so that they would feel any more pain and only sleep.
After that, she reached for her dagger and without hesitation, allowed for the elderly couple to pass on through the base of their skull. Although it was painful, it was the only way for the elderly to pass away instantly. Once she was done, she found some alcohol and cleaned her dagger with it for hygienic reasons.
If she could, she wished she could have killed them using the carbon monoxide poisoning method. That way, there will be no pain whatsoever.
Eugene turned around to the table where two syringes were left sitting on the table. She stared at it for a good second, before wrapping the syringes in cloth and tucking it inside her jacket. Just as she was about to leave, she found a sack of something, and her eyebrows immediately furrowed. The sack was opened and when she walked closer to the sack, her heart immediately dropped. It was a sack of black powder.
Though guns were illegal in Xenperia and no method of how to build a ‘proper’ gun was available to the public at all, you could still find out how to make black powder from another continent and bring it to Xenperia. Fortunately, it appeared that the bandits did not know how to make gunpowder which was something more refined and powerful than black powder. Eugene reached for the black powder when suddenly a great idea popped up into her mind.
She walked around the basement in search of empty yet dry water gourds and collected them. After that, she inserted gunpowder into the gourd and added some small stones and pebbles in it. After that, she closed the guard up but before she closed it completely, she inserted a string and connected the inside of the water gourd to the outside, leaving the string hanging out to be lit up later on.
There was nothing more to explore in the basement so she walked up and began to explore the base. Unfortunately, like the basement, there was nothing in the base. There was nothing but rooms with a bed and a closet. Of course, it was to be expected because this was the base where they kept all their money. Not a base for planning and operation. Just as Eugene reached the last room, she came across a room bigger than most with a double bed.
There was no hesitation in her movement, as she entered the room and began to explore it. There was not just a bigger bed, but even a study room which Eugene walked into after exploring the bedroom. She went through every document on the table that had only numbers written on it. These documents reflected the bandits’ money usage and surprisingly, the bandits didn’t use much money at all. The bandits only bought food which could be seen on the document.. Nevertheless, Eugene stuffed some of the documents in her jacket to be used as evidence.
