My Career is Useless in this World!! - Chapter 246
Episode 239- Have I never shown you this appearance before?
“… This is why I won’t go with you,” Euria muttered in between her breath as she stared at Elsm figure. Elsm had never seen Euria before with such a serious expression on her face. It was the first time seeing Euria so mature that it flabbergasted and scared Elsm a little.
“…This is why?” Elsm repeated Euri’a mutters. There was intense anger in Elsm voice that made everyone unable to breathe. In the end, Elsm took down the hood, allowing everyone to see Elsm’s appearance for the first time.
Everyone stared blankly. The soldiers, the Duke, and even … Euria herself. Elsm’s appearance was so unexpected that no one was able to utter a single word.
“W…what?” Euria’s lips trembled. Her eyes widened as much as they could as she stared at the figure in front of her in speechlessness.
“Ah… I forgot to change my appearance back.” Elsm said as ‘she’ touched her face. Elsm ran her fingers through her hair, letting the ends fall in between her fingers before tucking her hair behind her ears.
“Have I never shown you this appearance before?” Elsm smiled, her smile was gentle however it brimmed with leadership and confidence. Her hair was jet black, long, and appeared luxurious. Her face was slim, and she had a mole on her medium-sized lips. It was the kind of appearance that made it obvious that this person would grow up to be very attractive.
“Ario’s… pill that could change his appearance.” This was something Euria could not get the answers to hence she thought of the pills Ario took as being a relic Occul Island had. But now that she thought about it again, it was obvious that it had something to do with Elsm’s power. Because after all, Elsm’s Occul was the most powerful in the world. The purpose of Elsm Occul wasn’t her ‘blood’ because that was just a medium for her powers. But it was ‘to wish’ that one must take seriously because these wishes can do just about anything.
“Ah, yes. That was my blood condensed into a pill. Have I not come a long way with such crafty ideas?” Elsm laughed, her soft laugh vibrated through the forest.
“…” Euria was unable to utter a word. It was weird to everyone surrounding Euria and Elsm that even though they were in a life or death situation, the two were still here having a conversation, catching up with each other.
Euria can’t do much about that because the person in front of her basically decides when to talk or when to fight. It was like this in the past and like this now.
Elsm in her female appearance flabbergasted Euria, however, she got over it soon. Even if Elsm was male or female, they were still the same Elsm, the same personality, and the same person who wanted to cause destruction to the world.
“It’s easy to get away with this appearance and this gender.” Elsm shrugged as she walked over to Euria. Her footsteps were light and soft, not audible at all.
Elsm’s way of walking was the reason why the soldiers were caught off guard. They had been attentive and aware of their surroundings, however, it was because Elsm had no presence when she walked that she was able to slip through the soldiers. And by the time they realized it, it was already too late.
“Now, are you willing to go with me quietly, or must I take you back by force?” Elsm tilted her head and asked.
Euria didn’t reply to Elsm but muttered words no one could understand. The more she mumbled, the paler she got by the second. This could be seen by everyone, even Elsm.
Elsm paused in her footsteps, “I see, force it is.”
“EURIA!” Duke Rodriguez’s eyes shifted between Elsm and Euria and raised his voice for Euria to come back to her senses! Euria was as pale as paper, and it was obvious that Euria would not be able to handle the enemy in front of her. Even though he had already read Euria’s letter, it was still hard for him to correlate the Euria of the letter and the Euria he knew together.
There was an unexplainable tension in the air. One that made no one able to breathe. After Duke Rodriguez had shouted, Euria and Elsm had been silent and frozen for a good 5 minutes. And because of this unexplainable silence, the soldiers glanced at each other, unable to do or say anything.
Very suddenly in the midst of silence, Euria and Elsm vanished into the air.
“W, what?” One of the soldiers uttered in speechlessness at the two people who suddenly disappeared from his eyes.
“Where? Where are they?!” Another soldier shouted as he looked around. He turned to Duke Rodriguez to request that he give them an order when he saw Duke Rodrgieuz’s eyes moving around like crazy, as though he was watching something or following something that was moving very fast.
The soldier noticed this and turned towards the place Duke Rodriguez was looking at. But all he could see was a calm forest, with only tree leaves rustling around with the wind.
‘Rustling around?’ He held his palm out, ‘But there is no wind.’ The moment he thought of wind, a wind-like hurricane hit him and his comrades, causing them to fly and land on the ground 2 meters from where they originally stood.
‘Wha… What the?’
“Get out of here, it is very dangerous!” Duke Rodriguez ordered for the soldiers to move back, however, he did the opposite and headed straight for the buzzing wind. He ignored the voices and concerns from his subordinate and rushed forward.
‘Curses!’ He cussed as he rushed towards what was almost barely invisible to his eyes. All he could see was some facial features and movements, but other than that he couldn’t track much of what was happening at all. Both Euria and Elsm were moving incredibly fast, and because they were fast, they left trails of wind everywhere they went.
The closer Duke Rodriguez got, the harsher the wind, and the more painful it was to breathe. It was as if he was underwater, being crushed by the pressure from all sides. Duke Rodriguez was only able to get as close as 15 meters before he felt as if his lungs were going to collapse from the pressure.
His eyes narrowed down at the two figures who were hovering in the air.
“Gravity,” Euria mumbled as her hands reached out to grab Elsm. The air surrounding Elsm became increasingly heavy as if wanting to lock Elsm in place. Euria’s Occul did manage to lock Elsm in place but not for long because Elsm would cancel Euria’s gravity effect by wishing for her body to become lighter.
If one were to ask who the person with better and more advantage was, the answer would be Euria. The reason why is because air is unlimited. And it wasn’t the air that Euria controlled, but rather, gravity, which means she could go beyond space and time. And unlike unlimited air, Elsm blood was only able to produce a certain amount each day.
But power wasn’t the only determining factor in pointing out who had the better advantage than the other. When taking Euria’s current condition into account, it was clear on who had the better advantage.
“Destroy.” Elsm’s lips curved up as she muttered. Her blood moved in a wave to charge straight at Euria.
Euria furrowed her eyebrows, and defended, “Destroy.” Likewise, an invisible barrier headed straight to Elsm.
Both powers clashed, destroying each other before canceling each other.
Euria knows her condition well and understands that her body is not yet capable of handling much of her Occul. She knew that she wouldn’t be able to hold out and grabbed the sword by her waist instead. Though using her sword with her Occul reinforced in it will still take a toll on her body, it was better than fighting with just Occul.
Elsm smiled and did the same, however, instead of a physical sword, her sword was made from blood.
Even from 2 kilometers away, a deafening screech could be heard in the woods. This sound was produced by the swords clashing against one another intensely and in quick succession.
Euria’s sword handling was precise as if she had trained all her life with a sword while Elsm’s sword handling was not precise but had a style of its own. Because Elsm sword was made from her blood, it did not matter where she grabbed her sword as the only thing she needed to do was strike Euria. And it also didn’t matter if she was far away or close by, as she could change her sword according to will depending on whatever situation she was in.
Whenever Elsm would attack, Euria would defend, and whenever Euria would attack, Elsm would defend.
