- Chapter 291: Concerns of Telriah and Time (3)
The world moved slower here and yet that only assuaged the feeling of loss and heartfelt longing. Each moment that went by had made her hope, pray and wish that he would return. That he would come back for her and fill in the indisputable void that marred her soul.
But he never did.
Well… that was fine too. If he couldn’t make it back here on his own, then it meant that she’d only need to find a way to bring him back, didn’t she? A smile cracked on her face.
That was the plan.
She held a hand over her chest and clutched it tightly. “We have a bond, we have a bond.”
The woman would turn the tides, no—the entire world and universe to just see him again. Grief and regret engulfed her soul, but a part of her knew that when he disappeared over the lights and she avenged him, that he wasn’t truly gone.
A part of her was convinced.
Now that she had the power flowing and emanating from her veins, even if it was a tiny thread that tugged her, she was sure of what was happening. The thing that appeared in front of her was also an indicator and a confirmation.
A sign that the two of them were meant to be.
“He needed my help. He needs me. I’m the only one who can be there for him.”
She repeated the words to herself and found herself relieved to know that and hear the finality in those words. Setsuko rubbed her face. She wasn’t disposable, she wasn’t a throwaway, he never meant to leave her or forsake her at all.
It was just that bitch’s fault that she lost him.
What a spineless and no good goddess. Did she really think that Li Yang and Aseroth were one in the same? It was pitiful that she was so convinced by it, but regardless, it meant that Aurora literally went against her.
Now that she thought about it—everything and everyone else stood in her way. It wasn’t fair. It was only right that the entire temple was burned and razed to the ground because it couldn’t be helped. The priestesses were just like their goddess.
It served them right, they were the ones who made this all happen.
If she had been at his side constantly, then none of this would have happened.
They were the ones who distracted her with everything from the tournament, priestess requirements and everything else to keep her busy and away from her man. They even made that pink haired wench take care of him to steal him away.
A part of her boiled and burned at that thought. If she saw that girl’s face again then she’d—Setsuko took a deep breath and cleared her anger for a moment. Even if they thought that they could take him for themselves, it never happened.
It didn’t work, did it?
The one that got approached was not Mitsuko or anyone else. It wasn’t those twins or that blonde haired skank at all, was it? She was the chosen one. The only one that truly mattered and knew him right from the start.
They tried to change that, but it was impossible.
It was indisputable that she was the one that would do anything and everything to bring him back. Everyone else just fell away and disappeared like snow. Nobody was as steadfast and devoted as her to make things happen.
She was going to make it happen.
Nobody else but her could do it.
The woman punched herself in the stomach and curled over. Setsuko did it several times already to no avail. She kept retching, gagging and attempting to spew out the heirloom necklace from the Kaeli Kingdom, but it never reappeared after she ate it.
Well, it didn’t matter that much, anyway.
“Now I’m sure that it won’t go away.”
Setsuko had a feeling that it was merging within her body, just like something else, but even this wasn’t enough to summon him back into her arms. There were bound to be a lot more items that could help her acquire enough power to do what she needed.
After only three days, Setsuko rose again.
She left the ravaged and burnt husk and the entire forest behind her. If not Kaeli Kingdom, then Aseroth’s sect, some other city or village that contained any powerful artifacts or individuals that could contribute to her gain.
It was going to be one or the other.
Either she brought him back here to her side, or she was going to find a way back into his world. The place never really mattered that much to her in the first place, she just wanted to be reunited with him again.

The world was ending.
Both Aurora and Aseroth, the origin, the primordial makers of Telriah were gone and there was nobody sustaining the world unlike before. No more sleeping goddess that laid dormant enough to share her life-giving Ao to the world.
Mitsuko knew that they, and not necessarily her, tried to attempt to take down a goddess.
There was a good reason back then, Li Yang was about to get killed… and even if Mitsuko knew the consequences before, she would have probably gone over it again as long as the man survived.
And yet, look at where she was now?
Incapable and yet attempting to lead not only a fallen kingdom, but the remnants of those who survived after the blackening incident at Mashiro Temple. Everything weighed heavily on her shoulder, but she had to do what she had to.
Her previous attempts to find a way to bring peace turned futile.

Author’s Note: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned… at least that’s what the quote says. Not all women are as crazy as this one. But hey, maybe it’s a lot more nuanced than that? I don’t want to use the term lightly, but then again, fair warning that this is an attempt at a yandere. Not sure if that’s your thing though xD What caused this to happen? The answer is obvious and I believe you, dear reader, can piece it all together.
