- Chapter 302: A Long Overdue Conversation (1)
“Will I see you again?” Li Yang asked the fish.
“You got any more of those good pearls and seaweed?”
“I see that we’ll be having trouble adopting you for Chunhua’s pet again, but… technically, since you were supposed to be Narissa’s. I’ll be taking you as a gift.”
“What? I’m a free ranged fish! A wild one—”
Li Yang grabbed the fish’s fin and placed it in his Inventory.
It thankfully worked enough that a living being was capable of being stored in his Inventory… and while that raised some good questions as to what happened when you placed someone inside of it—that would have to be for another time.
Li Yang glanced around his surroundings and found no gaping humans, most were only passing and travelling through.
It wasn’t everyday that a man arrived at the port of Shanghai while riding a fish—but no one batted an eye when he arrived. The Veil of the World tended to mask any strange occurrences from the unsuspecting common folk.
So when Li Yang arrived through the help of Pinkie, there were no sudden cameras or anything else that demanded to explain his relation to a gigantic fish.
Nobody was going to have any of that.
And it was for that very reason that Li Yang reached for his phone and finally checked the messages. The first would be seeing the message from Narissa to which he promptly replied back now that he’d seen it.
[ CEO: Please tell Taiga to meet with me at the hospital later. She knows where it is. Thank you ]
After that, Li Yang headed to the hospital. The man hailed a taxi for himself this time and didn’t give much answers as to whether or not he’d dipped in the sea.
Now that he had a moment to recuperate, he checked his surroundings and time—it actually turned out to still be an hour and a half before his promised time to check on Luo Ju Di and meet with Ying Yue He.
Li Yang wasn’t going to be late.
There would be no more distractions after this, that much, Li Yang wanted to do. While he couldn’t help but think about the strange Vampire lady living on her island and fortress, Li Yang focused his mind on his current affairs.
Li Yang wanted to actually spend time with the people that he cared about… and at the same time, it was also his duty to work on getting stronger. “Doing one or the other is practically the same, more or less.”
Or it was just one way around.
While Li Yang could get stronger through the conventional and traditional method of meditating, training and the like—if he were to ‘do’ someone, then he also gained some Points he could use to buy things for him to get stronger.
Li Yang thought about the higher cultivation methods that Ying Yue He was using and decided to also ask her about it. There were aspects that were dangerous and could be used for more heretic cultivation types, but they were at a tier far higher than most.
Maybe Li Yang should actually buy something for himself as well?
Surely there were cultivation methods available that would benefit him far more than simply just purchasing items and automatically raising his cultivation levels, wasn’t it?
It would take a more arduous and longer path than what Li Yang was already used to—but it was far better than simply taking a more ‘generalized’ version of cultivation as he deemed from the ‘Harem Cultivation Method’ provided by the Heavens.
… If one were actually to even take it seriously.
Li Yang tapped his finger idly on the armrest of the taxi cab.
The majority of the individuals used the qi from around the world for their own benefit and at the same time, there were also those who took it from other people, ghosts, beasts and other items capable of benefiting a cultivator.
Even though Li Yang already purchased the Harem Cultivation Scripture in the past—he could tell that the most of his strength came from the fact that the System and Observers rewarded him for approving behavior related to harem-seeking.
And while the women who were being given to him as ‘targets’ in Li Yang’s experience were women with high potential in cultivating… that was more of an additional perk for him to be able to dual cultivate with them.
That was Li Yang’s understanding.
So it only left him curious of what Anna Song might help him with in the future.
“We’re here, sir.” the driver informed him.
“Thank you.” Li Yang paid for his fare and stepped back into the hospital.
He returned to Luo Ju Di’s room to find a rather awkward scenario—Luo Ju Di’s hands were buried in her face whereas Taiga (who arrived much faster than him) and Ying Yue He were smiling at each other in the most passive aggressive way.
At least, Ying Yue He was smiling more aggressively while Taiga was looking everywhere except for Ying Yue He herself.
The two didn’t even seem to notice his arrival yet.
“Oh, you’re here.” Narissa was once again wearing her customized hoodie and was sharing a conversation with Chunhua, but looked up once she saw him. Her appearance was that of a celebrity or idol currently undercover. There was even a face mask and shades on her hair despite it being evening.
“Uncle Yang!” Chunhua ran up to his leg and gave him a hug. There was a look of awe on her face as she looked up at him. “Chunhua didn’t know that you were friends with an idol! She’s so pretty like mama. Can Chunhua be an idol when she grows up too?”
“I would say that I was prettier, but now’s not the time for that.” Narissa pulled down her mask, clasped her hands together and gave him a bright smile. She pushed a strand of her hair behind an ear and batted her eyes. “I think it’s about time for the proper conversation and introductions with everyone. Don’t you think so?”
“We’re missing the Tea Temptress!” Taiga quickly waved a hand. “Taiga can bring her if you want! Taiga will actually be right back—”
Ying Yue He hooked her finger across Taiga’s collar and gave the other woman a look. “You’re not going anywhere.”
Li Yang realized that it was going to be a conversation. No. Not simply a conversation but the conversation—he didn’t realize that it would be happening so soon.
“Alright, let’s go sit down… but I don’t think that it’s a conversation where Chunhua actually needs to be.”
“Why?” The child looked up to him curiously. “What are you guys going to talk about?”
“The birds and the bees, Chunhua.” Taiga quickly answered. “When two people love each other and they want to get close—”
“I know you saved my life, but please refrain from saying that in front of my child.” Luo Ju Di looked up at the Tigress Spirit.
Taiga crossed her arms and then wagged a finger. “So you actually do remember what happened in the Spirit Realm.”
“Wait, you guys went into another realm?” Narissa raised a brow. “How many places have you exactly been visiting, Yang? First Japan, then the sea—”
“Wait. Bossman went swimming without Taiga?”
