My Dads A Celebrity - 11 Conversation. And Party.
As they got into the car heading back to the house for the party Beth was playing with her new footsie but when she asked her dad what it was for he just told her it was a surprise and to wait until they left grannies and went back home. Teddy was having fun playing with Beth until his phone went off and who other than Ivy was calling at this time he still didn’t know how he felt about her he was waiting until they met in two days.
“Yellow.” he said casually.
“What are you doing right now? Where is Beth? Are you treating her right? Have you been feeding her?” Ivy shot questions at him not even asking how he was or anything which made her go further down in people he liked but she was the mother of his kid so he didn’t get to upset since it was questions about Beth. Although they hurt his pride a little since it was about his parenting skills.
“Wow for once I would love if you could ask if I’m doing okay….. and to answer your questions we are currently heading back to my parents place for my mother’s birthday party… Beth is sitting right next to me….. of course I’m treating her right she is my daughter and the most important thing to me in this life…. and what did you expect that I would let my little chipmunk starve?” he said back his voice was more of a growl towards the end.
“Chipmunk?” Ivy sounded bewildered.
Beth sat to the side she had caught on that her dad was speaking to her mom but instead of being happy she was sad that every time they talked it seemed like they didn’t like each other, instead they would fight. When she was watching TV she saw that mommies and daddies were suppose to kiss and be nice but hers weren’t like that and it made her dad so she sat quite on the side not speaking up.
Teddy sighed but didn’t answer her he forgot he was in the car with Beth so close and he was losing his temper, looking at her his heart broke a little when he noticed her trying to hold back tears. Sighing he counted to ten before going back to the phone call, “I think you should speak to Beth now she has been waiting to talk to you.”
Handing the phone to her she started talking to her mom and hung up right when they pulled up to the house, cars were everywhere but he didn’t get out instead he looked at Beth who cheered up a little but was still sad. “Are you okay chipmunk tell me what’s wrong sweety.”
“Daddy do you….. do you… do you hate mommy. Please don’t hate her she is a nice mommy a-and a-arent mommies and daddies…” she didn’t finish but instead broke down crying which made him feel as though his heart was being ripped out it was the worst feeling he had since he came to this new world.
“ah! I’m sorry chipmunk calm down, it’s okay.” he kept repeating pulling her into a hug and rocking her it was killing him that she was crying like this.
“Daddy can you please love mommy too like you love me?” Beth said her eyes puffy from crying with a red nose making her look adorable, although he didn’t care for Ivy he couldn’t reject his daughter so he nodded.
“Dad promises to love your mom too.”
Beth was like a Christmas tree after that lighting up and hugging him around the neck with all her strength, kiss his cheeks she giggled, “Daddy is the greatest I knew you could.”
Teddy was now on cloud nine but realising they were going to be even later to the party he quickly got her out the car and into the house where guest were flocking everywhere. Teddy saw his mom and dad talking to some of their old friends but he still needed to get Beth’s face washed from the crying episode so they took off to his room.
After getting that taken care of they went back down with Beth holding his hand shyly walking around the place, she was never good with big crowds so she stuck to her dad. Teddy walked right up to his mom where she was just finishing up her story, “and I swear it looked like he was going to give up on life you should have seen his face when she rejected him.” everyone laughed expect for his dad who stood there but he couldn’t comment since it was her birthday.
“Hi granny and grandpa.” Beth’s voice drew everyone’s attention she had actually gotten a little closer with her grandparents after they calmed down from being weird.
