My Destined Werewolf Mate - Chapter 139
TAP! TAP! TAP!
Each approaching footsteps was stirring up her core with the wave of uncontrollable fear as Eva started sobbing bitterly, scowling her expression. She was desperately looking around everywhere hoping for a dim hope of survival but in the glowing flares scattering amidst the woods, the place had spine chilling appearance of horror.
Soon, Beck reached his target holding the monstrous face and the devilish eyes, gawking at her. It was too horrific for her to even look at his black eyes so she lowered her eyes down, trembling in palpitation.
“Since you were ignorantly obedient to me…I will grant you any last wish. Tell me. Do you have any?” An evil sneer escaped his roseate lips as he kneeled down on the ground, leaning himself a bit closer to her.
Tears were dripping down as she was lowering her eyes down while she clenched her tied arms behind her. “Why…Why are you doing this…me? I…I had tru…trusted you…”
“And that’s the reason you are here today.” Abruptly he answered, snarling his grimace at her. “Kindest fools like you always earn cruelest ends…That’s how the world works…merciless as ever!”
Hearing his sonorous deep voice, a rage of regret and pain, filled up her heart as she continued weeping, averting her gaze down.
“Ahh, alright. I have decided. I will give you an easy death, Miss Ricci. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt much. All you have to do is just look at my eyes.” Forcefully he grabbed her by the cheeks and gawked straight at her. Trembling in angst she was forced to raise her chin up and stare back at him.
“Wh-What?”
“Keep looking in my eyes and in a few seconds…your heart will collapse, Miss Ricci.” He grumbled in an intense tone chuckling a sinister sneer while his monstrous eyes shimmered in the dark, mystically.
“What?” Shuddered in fear, she started struggling hard shoving him away from her. “NOO! LET ME GO! NOO!” Striving hard to free herself from his tight grasp, she was hustling her head backwards but Beck was gripping her cheeks roughly.
“Stay still or I am gonna slit your throat right now! Damn…without that pendant…your scent is making me lose my mind…”
“NOO!!”
“If you don’t want a painful death, lock your gaze into me. That’s the only mercy I can have for you right now.” He leaned his face a bit closer to her and swirled his eyes.
Eva could sense an awful smell emitting out from him which was the exact sewage scent that she perceived that day within the cafe. The disgusting smell was sickening her insides. The more she tried to thrust him away, the more he was forcefully pushing himself on her. Compared to his terrific strength, Eva wasn’t able to resist him anymore.
“Please Zeus… save me…Please…Zeus…” Sobbing in tears, squealing inside her mind, she was forced to keep her eyes wide open and helplessly she looked into his eyes, trembling in fear.
…
All of a sudden, the entire forest ground vibrated with a strong intensity causing a wave-like motion. The force of vibration was so powerful that the wave that flung from the ground viciously shoved Beck away from Eva several feet apart. The intense firewood started to ignite fiercely and the tall trees were swinging in motion with the sudden quake that disturbed the entire area.
.
Gasping heavily, Eva was crying too hard while she raised her chin up to look at the place where the tremor emerged from. To her shock, standing before those blazing flares of fire, Zeus was glaring at Beck gnashing his jowls and clenching his fist in anger. His deep eyes were glowing red in color with his face looking extremely vengeance, unlike the kind face she had always encountered with.
“ZE…ZEUS!” Screeching out, she started bawling aloud as soon as she noticed him standing before those blazing fire sparks.
Beck had been shoved away several feet away, thrown amidst the dark woods along with vibration. Scraping his neck he slowly came walking out holding his devilish smile on his face. “I was waiting for your arrival…Zeus Romano! I knew it…you would definitely come for your muse!” He smirked.
“HOW DARE YOU TOUCH MY EVA! HOW DARE YOU BASTARD!!” Yelling out fiercely in his dominant voice, in the flash of a second his razor-sharp, shimmering silver long claws emerged out from his arm and he dashed at him.
Cleverly he tried to dodge his attack using all of his strength but Zeus was too meticulous in catching his prey! Violently, he grabbed him by his neck and slashed his face through those sharp claws.
“AHHHGGRHHH!”
He screamed hard in pain restraining himself from his grip, falling down on the ground. His entire face was covered in blood while he was whimpering down.
Quickly, Zeus dashed towards Eva and untied her arms with his claws slashing the grip. As soon as she gained freedom, she jumped into his arms crying her heart out in fear by grasping his muscular shoulder.
“I…I knew…I knew you would find me…wahhh…argh… I was so scared… I thought I would never get to…see you again…” She was trembling in fear, clasping him tightly.
“Eva…listen to me…” He gripped her by the shoulder and pulled her away from his body. He stared straight into her eyes and spoke in a deep low pitch, “you have to run away from here. I will smash that jerk but you gotta run away for your life. That vile creature is too evil! He would definitely try to approach if you stay here in this danger…”
“But…How can I leave you alone in this grave danger? This monster will try to harm you too!” She cupped his face, objecting fiercely.
“I will take him down. Don’t worry about me…I know how to deal with this lowly beast but…I can’t let you stay here on the battlefield. Eva…you are my only weakness. So please, go away and let me fight this battle.”
“Awww! Such a lovely pair!”
All of a sudden hearing the sudden sonorous voice behind, both of them shifted their gaze towards the north and saw Beck was already standing up from the ground, gawking at them. The scar implanted on his face from his claws had magically disappeared as if nothing had happened! The sight shivered Eva in fear as she clenched his arm tightly.
“No…I…I won’t leave you! He will hurt you! If…If you look into his eyes…you can die, Zeus! He is too dangerous–”
“Eva…I promise I will come back to you safe and sound. I won’t die in the hands of this beast, I promise. But please…go away from here now.”
“No…I don’t wanna—”
“LISTEN TO ME EVA! PLEASE!” This time his voice sounded intense and coarse while his expression looked a bit enraged, while he clenched her shoulder tight. Sobbing in fear of losing him she lowered her head down clutching his arm as tight as ever.
Zeus understood her anticipations quite well. Holding a grievous heart, he patted her head before assuring her in a bold voice, “I swear, I will come back safe and sound. Please…run away to the west. That’s the road to the highway. I will deal with him till then…trust me.”
“Don’t…Don’t break your promise!” Slowly nodding her head with a remorseful heart, Eva stood up from the ground along with Zeus. Holding a sad smile, he indicated him to run away and shifted his glare towards Beck.
“I am your enemy so just deal with me, bastard. Don’t meddle an innocent human in our fight.” He grumbled at him aloud, slowly restraining his grasp over Eva.
“Alright. Then let’s fight with our real selves, Zeus Romano.” All of a sudden, he surrounded himself in the mesh of a dark mysterious flame while glaring at him. As soon as the flames disappeared in the air after a few seconds, they saw his entire appearance had changed drastically. His snout grew longer like an animal and ferocious canines emerged out. His ears were pointed like an animal and his entire neck, shoulder, and arms were coated with black thick fur. The awful smell was filling up the entire woods as he tossed a malicious smirk towards him.
“Eva, don’t waste any more time. Go!” He murmured again and bolding walked a few steps closer to him. Unable to come up with a defense, she fidgeted for a few seconds and turned behind. Holding a distressed heart, she started running towards the west just as he directed her.
Her body was too weak to even move but gathering up her courage, she chose to do just as he directed. While running, she was sobbing too hard in fear but something unexpected was awaited for her.
“OWOOOOOOOWOOOO!”
A loud, terrifying growl filled up the entire forest which immediately halted her motion. Her feet stopped, she panted heavily and swirled her eyes in terror. This growl was too familiar to her since it’s the sound she despised the most in her entire life.
“Wolves! It’s…It’s the wolf’s howl! That means…a wolf is here? What if the wolves snatch away my Zeus too?” Mumbling in a husky voice, she turned behind looking at the way she came through.
