My Destined Werewolf Mate - Chapter 142
Wiping her tears-soaked eyes, slowly she stood up from the ground in a dismayed state. Zeus was still awe-struck at her harsh declamation, standing motionless and gawking at her intensely, surging his dilated pupils wider.
“Eva…wh-what are you—”
“Was it fun?”
Before he could finish his statement, an ice-cold stern voice escaped her lips as she charged him all of sudden.
“Fun?” Gulping his saliva, he reciprocated her words back.
“Was it fun to toy with my emotions? Was it fun for you to make a fool out of me?” Gnashing her jowls, she screamed out bitterly with tears of anguish swelling her eyes. She was clenching her fist, looking devasted with the revelation and trying hard to choke her tears in.
Momentarily, Zeus stood all silent bearing her harsh words that stabbed him deep inside his heart. With a piercing agony tearing him up from his core, he took a deep breath out and murmured his words, “my feelings has been always honest with you, Eva. I never intended to toy with your emotions. I was even terrified to live in a world where you won’t stay by my side…”
“Then why? Why did you keep it hidden till now? Why didn’t you reveal yourself to me before? Why did you let me stay by your side when you already know it…I despise wolves… I hate them from my core!!” She snapped.
“I…I was about to confess everything honestly…Eva. I was scared of our future ahead but…I was looking for a proper opportunity to let you know what I feel about you! I never wanted to build our relationship on the root of a lie.” Sounding emotionally drained out, he took a tiny step forward to approach her slowly.
“Stop right there!!” She shrieked out aloud immediately retreating a step back, gazing at him with her eyes filled with disgust.
Her actions were too hurtful for him to bear. Swirling his eyes wider at her unimaginable response, he uttered in agony, “E…Eva?”
“Don’t…Don’t come near me! Stay away!” Bitter tears of angst rolled down her eyes as she continued retreating away from him slowly stepping backward.
“Eva…do…do you disgust me now?” His throat choked in tears as he whimpered out in a crooked voice. His feet halted and he didn’t try to approach her furthermore.
“I…I can’t trust you anymore… I…just can’t…” She quivered.
“You…You are the only one I…will cherish in my heart…Eva. I…I really love you…” Tears rolled down his eyes as he chose to blurt out his painful words, standing all numb.
Staring at him intensely with her teary gaze from a few meters apart, without uttering a single word she turned behind and started to run away in the direction opposite from him with her staggering footsteps. Zeus stood there motionless and distressed while painfully watching her fleeting away from his sight.
“Don’t…Please… don’t go…” Sobbing bitterly, he murmured those hoarse words on his own while watching her from behind.
Soon enough she disappeared amidst the woods in the west direction just as he directed her earlier, leaving him behind all alone in grief.
The absurd sensation from the hellhound poison was making his mind quite dizzy as with one arm he clenched the injured area tighter. But his heart was throbbing badly absorbed in immense pain. Watching his beloved one looking at him with her eyes filled with disgust was the most painful thing he ever faced in his cold, dark life. Deep down in his heart for even once he didn’t think about the cruel abandonment he would have to face from a person he had chosen to treasure forever with all his might.
.
“I knew it all along…exactly…this would happen.”
All of a sudden, the dark mysterious voice coming from behind flinched him hard. In the flash of a second, he turned shifted his gaze and to his surprise, Ivory came out from behind a large Eucalyptus tree. Crossing her arms over her chest she was looking at him with a pitiful gaze.
“Ivory?” He mumbled in awe.
For a few seconds, she continued gawking at him, and taking a small sigh out, she walked closer towards him tapping her shoe heels aloud. Soon, she reached near him and quickly peered a glance at his blood-soaked wounded arm.
Taking a deep huff of breath out, she tried to hold his arm but Zeus retreated a small step back.
“What are you doing here? Why are you here?” Frowning his eyebrows, he probed her first.
Ivory stood still with a displeased expression on her face and quite forcefully grabbed the arm where he was critically wounded. Softly caressing his arm, she raised her chin up and whispered to him.
“I knew it already…that…this would happen, Zeus. I knew it, once, she gets to see your real self…she would run away from you. I knew it, ultimately you will be the one who will be left behind with a broken heart. Look, wasn’t I right?”
A surge of immense pain choked his throat as he tried hard to swallow his tears in. His eyes were devasted and as he lowered his gaze down from her, a drop of tear bearing his heavyweight of emotions dripped down from the corner of the eye.
Ivory stared deep into his eyes for a moment and took a huff of breath out. Slowly she cupped his side face and tried to soothe his grievous heart.
“I know…you must be broken badly from inside today. I know…how purely you had devoted your heart to that human… I have always known every little thing about you Zeus.
And that’s the reason I have loved you with all my heart. No matter what happens…I will never abandon you. I can accept every scar of yours. She is s human, Zeus. She can never accept the way you are but…I can! I can love you the way you are! Just…allow me to get into your heart, Zeus. That human…isn’t worthy of your sacrifices. Allow me to be your mate,” she asserted her bold answer looking straight into his eyes holding a sad gaze towards him.
Zeus stood still, holding his deep silence lowering his wrecked eyes down on the ground with drops of his painful tears dripping down.
…
It was around 5 am in the early morning. The murky sky was about to radiate with the sunbeams illuminating the brightness all around. Clara was sleeping peacefully in her room but she didn’t have a clue of the storm approaching her soon.
DING DONG!
Her doorbell rang aloud all of a sudden making a loud, startling noise in that absurd, early morning. Flinching hard with a sudden jolt, she almost jumped on the bed squirming with an annoyed grimace.
“Darn it! It must be Mr. Czar again! Ughh…why does he always have to bother me in such weird timings! Fuck, it’s annoying!” She whined on her own, looking extremely irked being bothered by her deep sleep.
DING DONG!
The doorbell rang again as if someone was desperately trying to wake up from her slumber. Taking a sigh of agitation out she stepped down from her bed and gallantly walked towards the door, taking giant footsteps.
In a few seconds, she reached the door and frowning her brows, she clutched the doorknob open.
“Why do you come here in the odd times Mr. Cz…”
Suddenly, her voice trailed off with the startling sight which was just right in front of her eyes.
Looking wrecked down, devastated, drenched in sweat and tears Eva was standing at her door, helplessly staring at her surprised face. She was biting her lips trying hard to stop herself from breaking down but as soon as she saw Clara, unable to hold back her emotions, she jumped into her arms bursting into bitter tears.
“E…Eva? Why are you here at this hour?” Shocked to have her in such a wrecked state right before her, Clara blabbered out her words tapping her shoulder a few times. She was wailing her heart out in her embrace, gripping her shoulder tightly.
“You…You were right…Clara… I shouldn’t have loved him… I shouldn’t have dreamt of a future with… him…hic…I…ran away… I ran away from him…Clara! I…I lost my everything today…hic…”
Awestruck at her teary confession, quickly she gripped her shoulder and pulled her away from her. “Eva…you are making me anxious now. What’s wrong? Why are you in such a sobbed state–”
“He…He is a… werewolf…hic…He is a wolf!” Whimpering in pain, she lowered her head down while confessing her grief to her.
All of a sudden, her heart throbbed in anguish hearing her shocking exclamation. The bitter truth that she was fearing till now was right before her face! She was spellbound at her response and gulping her saliva, she whispered, “how do you…know about it?”
“I saw his… transformation all by myself…hic…He…he wasn’t the Zeus I fell in…love with… He looked…scary… He looked just like them…who attacked our car that night… Why? Why did he have to be a wolf… How can I love a wolf…hic…” Clenching her fist, she was mourning intensely.
Clara stood still like a rock watching her shedding tears helplessly. Slowly she lowered her gaze down, wondering inside, “I knew…It won’t end well for them…’
