My Destined Werewolf Mate - Chapter 225
Slowly after stepping out of the mansion, Zeus was firmly embracing Eva’s small, trembled body closer to his chest while holding a bereaved sullen look in his wide eyes. She was numb too, unable to enunciate a single word and seeming very shocked with the happenings inside the mansion. Grasping him with her arm, she was walking out silently with a fiery gush of emotions rushing inside his mind.
Czar was following them at a few steps apart from behind, making a glum face. He seemed quite concerned for both of them, especially a bit for Eva since she looked much traumatized from all those wrathful incidents. All of a sudden, he noticed that Zeus halted his motion forward which even startled her a little. Slowly, he turned back towards him and watching them resting their pace, obediently, he stopped marching ahead for a moment too.
“Czar, I have to make an urgent call to Mr. Pablo before I leave. So, can you escort Eva safely back to the car? I will be back in a second.” Taking a small sigh out, he asked him considerately in a polite note.
Hearing his request, both Czar and Eva flinched in awe for a second, gawking at him intensely. After a moment of deep silence, he nodded his head in approval.
Attaining his answer, Zeus tenderly looked at Eva who was already gawking at him, surging her anxious eyes wider. Slowly patting her head to express his immense affection, he rustled it, “don’t worry. I will be back to you in a second.”
Steadily taking his phone out of his suit right pocket, he walked towards the western edge of the yard they were standing in. Staring at him from behind while he was walking away, she took a deep huff of breath out, lowering her eyes down.
“Why does this fool always keep others above himself? His kindness…sometimes irks me off!” His low dubious grumbling flinched her a bit as she quickly rose her chin up to ogle at him.
“H-Huh?” She susurrated.
“Didn’t you realize, little duckling? He intentionally spared me some time to convey certain words to you that were clouding my mind, by walking away himself. That’s how big a fool is he…” Sighing a heavy puff of breath out, he slowly strolled closer to her, and stretching out his hand, he indicated to her, “let’s walk ahead to the car.”
Following his command obediently, she started marching along with him seeming a bit perplexed from her expression. Czar could evidently notice her perplexed gesture and chose to break the awkward silence relaying between them.
“I have a few things to say first…”
“Hm…Hmm?”
Softly, peeking a glance at him a small sad smile etched on his lips as he conveyed, “what I said about earlier…I wasn’t lying at all. I…do have feelings for you.”
Silently gazing deep into his shimmering eyes for a moment, slowly she averted her gaze down, being unable to come up with an appropriate answer for his reciprocation.
“I didn’t even realize since when and how did it start… but…maybe your undeniable kindness similar to my lost mother budded these sincere emotions for you before I could stop myself. I am sorry…you had to know about it today with such a brazen declaration before everyone… It might have been an uncomfortable situation for both you and Zeus which…I really didn’t intend to cause.” His sincere voice sounded very deep and heavy as if he was truly apologizing for his loud declaration seeming a bit perplexed.
Taking a profound sigh of concern, quietly she lifted her chin up to glance at him before rustling out, “Czar… actually–”
“But it’s alright!” Suddenly, he proclaimed out aloud before she could interpret her words at him, boasting a wide fake grin on his grimace to conceal his feelings. “From the very beginning, I always knew your sincerity towards Zeus. It was easy to understand…no matter how hard I try, I won’t be able to make you look at me the way you peer at him as if…he belongs to your entire world. Trust me, if I had the power to hold back my emotions…possibly these troublesome circumstances might have never arisen. And…sooner or later I realized…I am not the kind of guy who is built for commitments. I am a reputed…Cassanova among women.”
Hearing his bold and sharp declamations about his outlooks which he was trying hard to project gallantly by concealing his grief inside his wounded heart, unknowingly a small sad smirk carved the edges of her roseate lips as she continued peering at him tenderly.
“So, you don’t need to feel glum or sorry for me, little duckling. I am perfectly fine! And…it would have been bothersome for me to find you sad and morose if I had imposed my feelings on you. I can actually see your joyous eyes whenever you are together with Zeus and it makes me happier…to see you so…
Also…I had been always a jerk brother to Zeus who has always offered me nothing but kindness. So… at least once, I wanted to show my solidarity and I know, I made the right choice by taking a step back. Actually, it’s better to watch both of you fools staying together and eventually becoming each other’s happiness. The long road of life that lies ahead may be a way of thorns…but I believe, you will be happy with him. Because…he will cherish you…way preciously than me…” He murmured with a kind smile obvious on his face while trying hard to project his stronger self before her.
Walking next to each other, soon both of them reached the giant entrance gate of the mansion and before taking a step towards the car, she halted her motion for a second and stood firmly, facing him with a soft smile.
“Can I tell something too?” She whispered.
“Hmm?” He lifted his left thick brow amidst the wavy hair bangs curled on his forehead, resembling a bit curious.
“Do you remember the time…when…you risked out everything to take me out of this mansion?”
“Huh?”
“Though…you had always tried to portray yourself as a rude, annoying prick before others but I have always believed that your heart was pure gold. No one else would have done that much for the sake of a human whom your pack disgusts the most…but without caring what others would think, you saved my life. I am glad, I was able to notice your kindness since that day.” Her wide, rolled eyes seemed a bit sad as she reverberated her words in the most cordial way possible.
“It was nothing much–”
“Also…as you already know me too well… I am sorry for being unable to reciprocate your feelings the way you had yearned. I am a bit late, but I am really sorry.” She bowed her head politely before him, pleading her sincere apology.
“He-Hey…th-that’s fine! You…don’t have to be sorry I already told you! It…It was never your fault, to begin with…and… it feels…I am getting rejecting by you again…” He sounded a bit flustered and awkward, flickering his arm while indicating her to stop for asking apology.
“I am…very thankful to you.” Slowly, she reverberated her words in a low, crooked voice. Lifting her chin up from the ground, she stared deep into his eyes with a teary gaze. “I am grateful…despite this difficult time…Zeus still has your shoulder to lean on for support. I have always believed that your anger had overpowered your sincerity…but thank you…for being the best brother, he could ever have. Thank you…for letting me go.”
Hearing her earnest answer, a sad smile escaped his trembling jowls as he quickly shifted his glance away from her to conceal his sorrow. Slowly, opening the car door for her, he indicated her to hop inside murmuring considerately, “so don’t ever make me regret my decision. Be happy…and…stay with him as his firm support.”
Nodding her head, she looked at him for the final time before heading inside with a slightly gloomy smirk, “I believe…one day you will find someone too…who will embrace your every broken piece by loving you at your worst, just like…Zeus did for me. I will pray for that day to come into your life soon.”
He closed the door kindly and started walking away from the car with several emotions rushing inside his core. Slowly, he took out a cigarette and ignited it with a lighter seeming a bit uneasy from his expression.
.
“If you ever reach your hand sincerely to me one day…I want to hold your every broken piece together. I will be looking at you with a possibly brightest smile waiting for both of us to grow and heal together because…we both are sick from inside.”
.
Clara’s sincere words flashed on his mind as he blew out a heavy puff of smoke. A sad wide smile occupied his pained grimace as he whispered staring up at the luminous sky,
“will I ever regret…letting Clara go?”
