My Disciple Wants to Tease Me Every Day - Chapter 83
The flower bud was open halfway, and irritated by the fresh blood, it began to sway from side to side. Lin Yunyou fell into the water, but the blood which had splashed onto the bud silently melted inside.
Perhaps because it was irritated by the blood, the half-open flower bud furled open in a flash. Di Jiufeng was lying inside, a still-vacant expression on her face.
She pushed herself up into a seated position. Before her eyes could regain their focus, Ning Guang had already flown over and taken her into her embrace. “A-Feng, how are you? Does it feel uncomfortable anywhere?”
Di Jiufeng woke up a bit after being taken into that warm embrace. She attempted to activate her spiritual energy, only to find that aside from the majestic ocean of demonic energy surging through her, there was not a single impurity. “Ning Guang, I, I’m alright!” Then, she thought of something, and turned to look at the purple-clothed woman who was currently fighting with Qing Yu.
Like she had read her mind, Gu Yunlu turned to look at her at the same time.
Their eyes met, and Di Jiufeng nodded almost imperceptibly.
Seeing her look, Gu Yunlu curbed her overflowing bloodlust a bit and pulled back her offensive, trading attack for defense and retreating step by step.
Gu Yunlu wanted to escape, but not only was Di Jiufeng not worried, she even turned away and looked at Ning Guang. “I’m alright. We won’t need to worry about being separated ever again, I can stay with you forever!”
Ning Guang stroked her face, like she had not noticed her sideways glances. “Then, let’s go back home.” Just as she finished, she thought of something, and looked down at the pond. Lin Yunyou laid in the bottom of the limpid pond like she was dead, scarlet blood blossoming through the water, before slowly melting in.
“Annoying.” Ning Guang pulled out a hemp rope from somewhere, filled it with ghostly energy, then shot it into the lake, tugging Lin Yunyou to the surface.
She had no time to spare for Gu Yunlu, or perhaps she didn’t want to spare the time. Either way, after she pulled Lin Yunyou to the surface, she tossed her unconscious body right into the battlefield. The two combatants stepped back in unison. In the moment it gave her, Gu Yunlu tapped her foot on the ground and swept away just as she had arrived.
“Don’t chase her, let’s go back. Find a way to make this one start moving.” She pointed at Lin Yunyou and spoke.
Qing Yu stared at her, stupefied, and said in disbelief, “Do you think I’m a god? Make her start moving?” Though that was what she said, she still moved to crouch at Lin Yunyou’s side and started to inspect her body. At first, Qing Yu still looked normal, but her expression grew stranger and stranger, her brows knit tight together, her face full of confusion.
“Her soul is so strange. It looks whole, but also like it’s missing something. And, her aura is a bit similar to the one I was just fighting. No no no, not similar, it’s practically the same!”
Ning Guang ignored her, not even looking at her bright eyes pleading for an answer, and said coldly, “Let’s go back, you’ll know when we get back.”
She helped Di Jiufeng up and took a few steps, but then paused like she had remembered something. “Make her look alive, or else the Lin family will give us trouble.”
Qing Yu choked on a mouthful of spit and pounded her own chest. “Is there something wrong with you? Her soul has been damaged. Without a couple of months’ time, she can’t even wake up, how can I make her move?”
Ning Guang looked at her coldly, not bothering to hide her distaste. “Then move aside.” She collected a ball of ghostly energy at her fingertip and sent it into Lin Yunyou’s body. With a gesture, Lin Yunyou opened her eyes woodenly and stood up somewhat stiffly. “Okay, walk. I shouldn’t have hoped for anything from you.”
She paused, then looked down at Qing Yu again. “But if you’re so useless, where did you get the courage to call others stupid?”
“Ning Guang! That’s too much! Who are you calling useless?” She strode over, still wanting to argue, but then she thought of something and looked at Ning Guang with a gloomy expression. “How can you be like this? I just said a few bad words about her, and you have to get revenge? She wasn’t smart in the first place, and she’s afraid someone will point it out?”
Di Jiufeng pursed her lips and made a face at her. “If I was stupid, would you be alive right now? That girl would have killed you already. If I didn’t trick her into thinking she had succeeded, do you think you’d still be hopping around?”
“What do you mean? Succeeded at what?” Qing Yu had a face full of confusion.
Di Jiufeng taunted her, “I’m not telling. If you’re not afraid, you can ask my Ning Guang.”
Having backup was great, at least it could make Qing Yu withdraw her arrogant air. She looked on as that damn couple walked out of the shrine, then kicked the threshold. “I’m going back to the yao realm right now! Don’t come looking for me!” Her toes smarted and Qing Yu couldn’t resist hissing and cursing in pain.
But it was only a few words. Seeing those two thankless things walk away without a backwards glance, she rubbed her foot and chased over, hopping to avoid her injured toes. Qing Yu stepped into the carriage right behind them, afraid she would get left behind all alone.
Qing Yu had a brain, she knew that the walls had ears, so she behaved herself on the carriage and did not ask a thing.
She held it in until they reached the Lin estate. Seeing that Ning Guang even let Lin Yunyou follow them inside, while attempting to shut the door on her, she rushed ahead and held the door open with her foot. “Hey hey hey, what’s the meaning of this?”
Ning Guang didn’t actually want to chase her off. She held a hand on the door, looking down at her from above. “What was that about my Shifu? I’m stupid because I was her disciple?”
Qing Yu hurriedly showed fear. “No no no, Jiufeng is not stupid at all, she is the best, the best Shifu in the world is her, you being stupid is all your own fault, it has nothing to do with her!” As soon as she had spoken, she realized what she had said. Qing Yu prepared for death, trying to struggle one last time before the end.
Why had she run her mouth and called Ning Guang stupid?
She had been around Di Jiufeng for too long, her incredible talent and aloof temperament had all been fed to the dogs!
Qing Yu was going to cry, but she still wanted to fight back before her inevitable death. But before she could say anything, Ning Guang let go and walked inside. “Come in, close the door behind you.”
Qing Yu stared, and obediently followed her inside and closed the door. She floated for a while, then suddenly realized she had a new lease on life!
She pondered it for a time with mixed feelings, before suddenly realizing that she was very stupid. She knew this little beast was only protecting this one piece of meat, why couldn’t she just find someone else to bully? But another person wouldn’t be as fun as Di Jiufeng. After all, Ning Guang would just ignore her. If it didn’t have to do with Di Jiufeng, you could talk at her all day and she would listen to none of it, and she would maybe even toss your corpse into the wilderness for disturbing her piece.
Qing Yu trembled, thinking that it would be best to behave.
She walked over to them like a young married woman, only to see Di Jiufeng pull out a green colored glass heart.
Di Jiufeng beckoned to her, going to take her wrist, before Ning Guang stopped her. “You hold on to me, I’ll hold on to her. We won’t lose anyone.”
Qing Yu tsked. She really wanted to say that she no longer had those intentions, there was no need to defend against her like defending against thieves, but she didn’t dare.
Di Jiufeng nodded and took Ning Guang’s hand, activating Shen City.
As a very secretive spiritual device, all sneaky affairs were most suited to be done inside Shen City. But they weren’t planning to do anything wrong, just interrogate a person.
“Take it out. That little viper tried to steal my body, luckily I was able to defend myself.” Di Jiufeng stood on the grass and patted Ning Guang’s hand, asking her to take the item out.
Ning Guang nodded and pulled the second body wrapped in grey fog out from the ghostly form’s spatial storage.
As soon as it left the storage space, the second body began to struggle fiercely, but compared to Ning Guang, its power was like a cup of water on a burning carriage. Unable to escape its bonds, it began to yell. “Let me go! Let go! You can’t do this to me! I’ve been at your side the longest! Why would you treat me this way?!”
Hearing this familiar voice, Qing Yu raised an eyebrow and asked, “This is Lin Yunyou? Why would she be inside your second body?”
Di Jiufeng didn’t hide it from her. She sneered and said, “I wondered why she was so kind, coaxing and promising, anything to make me go to the Chi You shrine and be reborn as a demon. As it turns out, she always had an objective. That mouthful of blood she spat held a wisp of her soul and spirit, she wanted to take over my body by force. Luckily, Ning Guang and I were prepared, and as soon as she entered, we forced her into my second body.”
“Impressive, this woman’s cultivation isn’t weak.” Qing Yu gave her a sincere compliment.
Di Jiufeng smiled with her lips and not her eyes and said with a look of pride, “It’s not me who’s impressive, it was my Ning Guang. I don’t know how she did it, but she forced Lin Yunyou to automatically enter my second body.”
Ning Guang met eyes with her, and her cold eyes immediately grew gentle. “It’s nothing much. She is of the witch race, so she has to listen to me.”
Qing Yu caught the vital point, and her eyes opened wide. “The witch race! But isn’t the witch race long extinct? Other than you, the reincarnated ancient witch, how could there be another member of the witch race?”
“Then you should ask her.” Ning Guang indicated with her eyes.
Lin Yunyou’s illness seemed to come from her soul. She had only been yelling and screaming for a short time, but she already began to cough violently. It looked like if she wasn’t in a second body made of wood, she would be coughing up her lungs.
Ning Guang did not urge her, but watched her cough with cold eyes, apathetic from start to end. When she stopped coughing and began to pant like a patient about to die of illness, Ning Guang said coldly, “Explain everything yourself, or I’ll make you explain. Be a bit self-aware, I’m leaving you one chance. Or else, you ought to know how members of the witch race are unable to resist the ancient witch.”
