My Ex-Husband Became The Male Lead - Chapter 49.2
Chapter 49 – Dating Will Be Done By Adults
Walking in front of Ashia, Theros’ eyes were ferocious. Theros looked at Kaligo’s hand wrapped around Ashia’s shoulders and his hand on her face.
Realizing where his gaze was directed, only then did Ashia realize that she was in Kaligo’s arms. She then felt embarrassed like a person who had her love affair found out by her younger brother. Ashia stood away from Kaligo after she sneaked out of his arms.
Rubbing her nose in that awkward situation, Ashia said, “Oh, so. Tero, this is…”
Looking at her flushed cheeks, Theros’ sleek brows twitched. He reached out to Ashia, then Ashia’s gaze turned to his hand.
“Huh?”
“Let’s go back. To our house.”
“…”
This was all Theros could say.
‘When did they get so close?’
The man and woman who came out of the mansion’s door looked like lovers. His anger rose beyond anxiety as soon as he saw it.
“Let’s go back, please?”
“Tero.” Ashia tilted her head at the strangely different atmosphere around Theros.
He wasn’t a fussy kid like this…. Carefully guessing that it must have been difficult for him to meet Lisa, Ashia turned towards Kaligo. “I will go back today.”
“Ashia.”
That didn’t mean she took Theros’ hand.
“Tero, you should also go back to the Imperial Palace.”
“Noona….”
“You can’t go back to the store. You’re not on your escort duty, don’t want to go back to the palace, and now you’re leaving without permission?”
“…”
“I will ask the Chief Knights Commander about escorting Lisa. So you should go back too.”
Ashia was thinking of asking for a favor from the Chief Knights Commander of the Imperial Knights Order. He owed her a lot so he would listen to this much.
She looked at the two men before summoning the gate, then took another glance at the mansion. Facing an unexpected situation, she had forgotten that she had come here to meet Lisa. Ashia shrugged, and then went away.
‘Well, they’ll figure it out themselves.’
She quickly turned around and entered the gate. She had checked what she wanted to so she didn’t look back anymore with no regrets. The two men stood still while staring into the empty air where the gate’s magic scattered for a long time.
“I…” In the silence, Theros’ voice was directed to Kaligo. “I love Ashia.”
“…” Kaligo’s red eyes, which were facing the air, had a cold chill.
‘Ashia?’
This already irritating man began to confess that he saw Ashia as a woman. Unlike Ashia who drew the line between them, treating him as a younger brother, that man’s feelings toward her took on a dangerous and provocative path.
Kaligo turned to him completely and tilted his head. “So?”
“I’m telling you to not get involved in the relationship between me and her.”
Haha
Either way, Theros continued in a calm and courteous tone, “We have been together for a long time. Ashia and I were indispensable to each other.”
“…”
“We have come this far by giving each other the needed strength when we were at our strongest. The Grand Duke had no place to get involved, and I have no intention of giving her to you.”
Kaligo’s mirth stopped. His red eyes towards Theros were still sharp. “You are confident.”
“The person who knows Ashia better than anyone else is me.”
“Then why are you so anxious?”
Theros paused at Kaligo’s question. “…Who are you calling anxious?”
“You.”
“…”
“If you have such a strong and unshakeable relationship, you will naturally stick together.”
“…”
Theros bit his lips. He, who didn’t show his emotions that well, was barely able to control his expression. It must have been because the anxiety he had been holding back exploded when he saw Ashia being held in Kaligo’s arms.
“I meant that I don’t want you to cause any kind of disturbance.”
“Disturbance, you say….”
“You should know better than that. Just what kind of scandals are going on with the Grand Duke.”
“Ah… those rumors.”
“Don’t bother people who are doing fine on their own…”
“Hey, good, responsible, and hardworking kid,” Kaligo cut off Theros’ words coldly.
In fact, there was no need for him to listen to the words of a single knight and put up with him. It can be said that for him whom the Imperial Family can’t kill openly, a knight’s life was nothing more than a passing ant in front of him. However, he couldn’t just get rid of this man with his own conjectures.
Yes, he couldn’t. Because it would be big trouble if he were to be hated by Ashia. And so, he was listening to him in silence—until all of this man’s inner feelings were revealed. In order for him to decide if he could trust Ashia’s words that he was just a younger brother to her and let her keep him by her side, he waited until the man spit out all his hidden greed.
“What did you say just now…?”
“You just stay as a child.”
Theros frowned, not understanding what Kaligo meant.
“Yeah, a child…. Be like that forever, just like now.”
Finally understanding the meaning of his words, Theros clenched his molars and a vein popped out on his forehead.
But Kaligo smiled leisurely while staring at his expression. “Dating will be done by adults.”
