(Lily’s POV)
‘Stupid master. Idiot master. ‘
I fumed internally as I hugged the pillow placed above my lap.
‘For my long-awaited date to be so casually denied.’
A bit teary eyed, I formed a tiny fist with my hand and said to myself.
“Just wait till I grow up. Then I will teach that blockhead master of mine the ways of life.”
Imagining the future between master and my adult self, my face broke down into a goofy smile.
Yes. Don’t we have our whole life before us?
Besides, isn’t being insensitive just another word to say that he won’t be popular with other women either?
That’s right.
Only I know of master’s sides and charm.
I am way in front of any other women.
Hehe.
A bit happy, my mind went above the clouds.
But I quickly recollected myself.
No. I shouldn’t be too complacent with my current situation.
He only sees me as his disciple.
I must make him aware of me as a woman.
But how?
Placing my hand below my chin like master usually does, I began formulating strategies to seduce him.
Oh yeah.
Didn’t the maids of my previous household use to say that stomach is the way to a person’s heart?
I will cook for master next time.
Then maybe, he will give me a pat or even a k-kiss.
My face became a bit red.
But still.
How exactly do you cook?
I wondered.
However, before my train of thought progressed any further, the talisman given to me by master before leaving begun to react.
Hmm.
Squinting my eyes, I looked at the talisman.
According to master, this talisman would react whenever I came across cultivators stronger than me.
That means.
My eyes shone with a serious glint.
‘There are other cultivators in the forest.’
….
(Third Person POV)
The sound of numerous hoofbeats galloping along the muddy puddle resounded throughout the wide pathway of forest that led towards the capital of Rein Kingdom.
Following behind these steads was a long line of wagons which gave off a silver luster as light shone atop it.
These silver lights were not a result of any sort of decoration but instead a result of the numerous metallic weapons being transported on it.
One of the burly guards responsible for guarding the wagon sighed irritably and said to his companion nearby.
“What does the prince plan to do with this much mortal weapons? Can’t we just employ rogue Spiritual Arrival experts with this much money instead?”
His friend, a lean looking man in his thirties sipped a bit of alcohol from a worn-out leather bag on his right hand and said with a sense of derision.
“Those lousy arrogant **ers? Not to mention they would righteously find some way to leave when push comes to shove, how many of them would willingly involve themselves in the internal strife of one of the eight subordinate kingdoms of Qing Shan Empire.”
“Besides-”
The lean looking man continued while taking a deep glance at the carriage behind them adorned with ostentatious designs.
“It is not like we are lacking on Spiritual Arrival Experts either.”
Gulping nervously, the burly man spoke no more and subconsciously followed the lean man’s sight to the carriage behind with a sense of fear and respect.
Looking at his friend’s actions, the lean looking man shook his head with helplessness.
No wonder they were stuck in the Free Travel stage for too long.
Even after they killed off their blood related family members by their own hands to advance in demonic path and willingly became eunuchs to advance higher in cultivation, their frame of mind was still inferior.
“Stop.”
The command of their guard captain stopped them in their tracks.
“There are fresh trails left by another carriage nearby.”
With a seriousness in his voice, the guard captain continued while looking at the burly and lean duo.
“Fox and bull.”
“Kill whoever were riding them.”
……
(Lily’s POV)
There was a chance that the cultivators were just passing by.
However, there was also an equal chance that they were conducting some task which could not be made public.
In that case, it was unlikely that they would leave me alone.
Thinking so, I activated the formations of the carriage and wore the fox mask on my face again.
Once again, as I waited patiently on the carriage I realized how helpless I was.
There was nothing I could do other than cower behind the carriage.
Yet, it did not matter as much as it did in the past.
Because, I had master now.
Which was why I was able to move forward no matter how insecure my past self was.
*boom*
A sound of impact landed on my ears.
Hearing the sound, my heart dropped.
‘So, it seems like it was the second group after all.’
I prayed in my heart that they would give up.
But the sounds of attack on the carriage kept on getting louder.
It was a sign that the formation would soon be disabled.
Gritting my teeth, I looked at the red button on my right.
If I clicked on it, the carriage would self-destruct and probably kill those outside if they were below broken sea.
However, I would probably die as well or at least be heavily injured despite the protective treasures in my clothes.
It was like fate’s mockery when I just said I wanted to live.
But, it was still better than the alternative.
Closing my eyes, I muttered.
‘Hope I can be your disciple again.’
And clicked on the red button.
……..
(MC’s POV, current time)
Feeding a pill which I created by myself in Lily’s mouth, I looked at the scene before me.
Broken chips of carriage could be seen all around me along with fleshy red interiors of the perpetrators haphazardly scattered across the lush grass.
She had probably self-destructed the carriage.
If not for the numerous safety mechanisms in the carriage she would have died.
‘𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙, 𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙’
A strange feeling of irrational rage was beginning to shroud my heart.
Heh.
I smiled.
For the longest time, I never considered searching the reason behind my rebirth.
One of the reasons behind it was because I was lazy.
However, another reason was because I had no leads.
It was not like I died with any sort of treasures like rings, manuals, or anything.
Even if I wanted to find the reason, I needed to find the trigger which would lead me to a clue.
‘𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙, 𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙’
So, the trigger was rage.
Once again, I looked at the sight of my disciple weakly lying on the new temporary house I created.
Very well.
Regardless of the trigger, I will play your game.
I will bathe the scene in blood as my instincts say.
How long will their scream last?
I wondered as the puddle of water beneath my foot reflected the sight of my pitch-black eyes rapidly turning red with a peculiar pattern forming in it.
I was smiling.
……
(Third person POV)
“Why are they so late?”
The captain wondered as he steadily advanced his path.
He had already waited long enough for his free travel subordinates.
He could not afford to wait more.
‘Besides they have already served their purpose.’
He mused.
The reason he sent them was to make sure that no one would come near their location.
It was good if they could kill the other party.
However, stalling them till they passed the site was also fine.
Considering how no one had come near their location while they passed the place, they had already fulfilled their goal.
As for their well-being?
He did not care.
If they served their usefulness, they were his to take care of.
If not, he would kill them by himself without hesitation.
“Captain”
A pawn of his called out to him.
A bit peeved, he asked.
“What?”
Pointing at his front, the guard said.
“There is a person standing in the front.”
“What?”
Fixing his gaze forward, he saw a youth.
Dressed in spotless white with a face which was rather handsome, he was smiling at them.
It was a smile he was familiar with.
One filled with madness.
A cultivator of devil path?
He wondered.
Regardless, they had a mid-stage Spiritual Arrival expert in the carriage behind them.
So, there was no need to pay him heed.
“Ignore him”
The captain said while no longer fixing his gaze forward.
The next moment, his gaze shifted without his intention.
It shifted towards his headless body which was bleeding.
He was dead.
….
The original silver surface of the metallic weapons in the wagon now reflected deep shade of crimson red.
Most of the guards surrounding it died in one slash.
A figure emerged from the corpses, smiling as he deprived life of those who came near him.
That figure was Xin Fan.
“How bold.”
A voice came out from the ostentatiously adorned carriage.
“A mere beginner Spiritual Arrival cultivator dares to act so audaciously.”
In response, Xin Fan simply smiled at him and said.
“You speak too much.”
“Yo-”
Before he could finish his Xianxia template, a number of sword Qis attacked the carriage.
“Im-impossible.”
The mob cultivator expressed his disbelief.
It was common knowledge that people could not fight above their stages.
Even if they could, there was no way they would be this overpowered.
Who was this guy?
Then he looked at the peculiar pattern in the white dressed cultivator’s eyes.
“Im-impossible. You are-”
A voice cut him in the middle.
“Didn’t I say it already. Don’t speak too much.”
He said while slashing his sword downward.
The mob cultivator screamed in pain, but it was of no concern to Xin Fan.
Curling his lips, Xin Fan said.
“Lets talk.”
