My Ghostly Romance - Chapter 21
The next day.
Kaisar didn’t know what possessed him to agree with Lu He Yan’s plans.
That doctor suddenly suggested for him to take the lady he saved at the crime scene to his home so he could take care of her.
This plan naturally has its disadvantages since Kaisar was not a doctor. However, he went to a medical school for the first two years, before he decided to shift into another course that was aligned with his profession as a detective. Thus, he had some knowledge of how to take care of a sick person.
Besides, he’s been taking care of his younger siblings since he was young so there shouldn’t be much difference if he takes care of Yang Mi.
With that in thought, he stepped on the brakes when he saw two figures standing before the hospital.
It was Lu He Yan and Yang Mi.
After Kaisar finally agreed to take her home, Yang mi was extremely delighted with the idea of living with the detective again.
If she were to live somewhere else, she might lose her mind because she liked his place so much that she wanted to own it.
On the other hand, staying with Kaisar will also present her plenty of chances to complete her tasks and make him fall for her.
‘TGR, how much life do I have right now?’ She asked inwardly.
Ever since she decided to accept the reality even though it was hard, Yang Mi started to call the system or whatever was inside her head TGR. It was derived from what the system called itself; The Ghostly Romance.
[Life Remaining: The host only has 39 hours and twenty-eight minutes to live.]
Yang Mi sighed when she heard the electronic voice. Getting used to the fact that she was hanging by a thread and a system was deciding how much time she has to live was too much even for Yang Mi, an ancient ghost that was feared by other beings.
Speaking of beings other than humans, Yang Mi was surprised the first time she found out that she couldn’t see the ghosts living inside the hospital.
Other than the cemetery, the hospital was also one of the places that other beings frequently visited and lived in. So, it was only natural for her to see them.
And yet, even after roaming around the hospital, Yang Mi never saw one ghost ever since she woke up. That’s when she realized that she could no longer see them. However, she could slightly sense them somewhere around her.
It was a very faint sensation but it was there at least.
When Kaisar got off his car, Yang Mi rushed to him, and as if in slow motion, her body was suddenly tilting forward.
Kaisar watched in surprise as Yang Mi jumped to him only to fall forward when she was a meter away from him.
He wanted to reach forward to help her but before he could even touch her, Yang Mi already fell face-first on the ground.
Passersby: “…”
Kaisar: “…”
Lu He Yan: “…”
Yang Mi: “…”
Wait… this isn’t how things should be!
Yang Mi panicked as she tried to get up. Her nose was red from the fall and she grunted in pain as she saw her palm was scratched against the concrete floor.
She bit her lips and tried to think where did things go wrong? Kaisar was supposed to catch her in a princess carry like those girls in movies!
Then, why was that the concrete floor was the first thing that greeted her?!
The idea that she had to jump to him was entirely Yang Mi’s plan to make him flustered, hoping that it would give her the points that she badly needed to live. But her plan backfired after she miscalculated their distance from each other and forgot that she couldn’t possibly instantly erase that space in one jump.
“Are you alright?” Kaisar finally approached her after he got over the shock. He didn’t ask her why she did that to not humiliate her.
However, Lu He Yan was the opposite and he couldn’t stop the laugh that he was holding either.
“Puuhahahhaha!” Lu He Yan held his stomach as he laughed, “Miss Yang! Unfortunately, there is no swimming pool in front of you so there’s no need for you to dive!”
Lu He Yan continued to laugh at her.
Yang Mi pouted and grabbed whatever was near her. Anything.
And she ended up grabbing a pebble.
She wanted to hit the doctor with she found but upon remembering she needed the doctor for her plans to succeed, she held herself back.
But it seems that someone else was also angered by Lu He yan’s behavior.
As Lu He Yan continued to laugh, Kaisar struck him in the head. The doctor was forced to swallow his laugh and choked on it.
“Laugh again and I’ll pull out all your teeth,” Kaisar said. He considered laughing at someone’s expense detestable.
Seeing this, Yang Mi stuck out her tongue when Kaisar wasn’t looking.
After dealing with Lu He Yan, Kaisar turned to look at Yang Mi. He helped her up but the girl limped. It seems that she hurt her foot because of the fall.
Without any hesitation, Kaisar lifted her in his arms.
It was so sudden that both Yang Mi and Lu He Yan was so surprised at his actions. However, Kaisar didn’t see any reason that needs for them to be so surprised.
Still, Yang Mi gladly accepted his actions towards her and spread her arms wide to put it around his neck. Their closeness was enough to make a woman blush since it was Kaisar who was carrying them.
But Yang mi was too busy asking the system if she got a point when he carried her.
[There are no new points gained by the host.]
Yang Mi pouted in annoyance that even though her plan was a failure, still, Kaisar carried her. Yet, she gained no points from it.
“You can let go of my neck now.” She heard Kaisar speak next to her ear as she rested her chin on his shoulder.
She didn’t notice that he had already carried her inside the backseat and was waiting for her to let go of him.
And as she let him go, her lips brushed against his left ear.
