My Ghostly Romance - Chapter 27
What Yang Mi didn’t know was that at first, Kaira was insanely scared because of her presence that he would eat outside. However, after getting used to her presence, he started to eat in the house and spend more time with her around.
And after getting her human body, Kaisar also took his time to eat home with Aunt Wu and Yang Mi around. It just became normal to him and didn’t bother eating with other people around anymore.
But to Aunt Wu and Madam Chu, the reason behind his change was the girl he saved from that tragic accident. Kaisar never allowed any women to stand beside him or even live with him. It was such a wonder to them that he actually let her stay beside him when he shouldn’t feel too responsible towards her.
It wasn’t his first time to be involved with a gruesome crime and have a few survivors. Those people would end up in the hospital for a few weeks or ask for help from him. However, never would anyone think that Kaisar would ever reach his hand out to volunteer to let them live with him.
That was why Madam Chu took painstaking steps to scheme things around with Lu He Yan and set up her son with the young lady. Who knew maybe her son would heal up the wound that continued to bore a hole inside him.
Aunt Wu smiled at Yang Mi who had absolutely no clue that she was being helped from the dark by two women who wanted to hook her up to her target.
They walked for 15 minutes more then reached their destination. Before them stood the wide and tall building of the Central Investigation Bureau. The walls of the building were filled with tinted glasses, it looked modern and overwhelming from afar, but you would feel the pressure pressing on you once you got closer.
Yang Mi stared at the building and was momentarily in awe. It looked like a tower that you would see from action movies. Well, the place wasn’t far off from the movies since the place was littered by people who were given authority to be dangerous to both criminals and soon to be criminals.
She saw Aunt Wu walking straight to the door. It was an automatic sliding door as expected to the country’s high technology advancement. At least the government spent a lot of money to look badass, Yang Mi thought as she followed the old housekeeper inside.
People in suits and formal shirts were walking to and fro the lobby. They all had their ID cords hanging around their necks. Some of them stopped from what they were doing when they saw a glimpse of her. Some had their jaws slacked and some forgot to say a reply to the person on the other side of their phone.
The effect of seeing her was almost immediate and intense that they looked like idiots who never saw a beautiful lady before them.
Aunt Wu walked ahead to the front desk where they would notify the inner offices of some things that happened in the lobby. The man in the front desk stared at Yang Mi for a long moment and forcibly tore his gaze away from her to listen to the old housekeeper.
“We’re here for Kaisar Chu.Can we meet him?” Aunt Wu said.
The man in the front desk turned his head to look at Yang M. She returned his stare with a raise in her eyebrows, slightly interested at how he was staring at her. ‘What’s wrong, human? Do you like what you see?’ was what she wanted to tell him if only her words wouldn’t sound wrong when heard by someone.
Seeing that she took notice of her, like he was on cloud nine, the man nodded his head frantically and pulled the telephone out to call on the maint team where Kaisar was assigned. No one in the bureau haven’t heard of the famous Kaisar Chu, the youngest detective in the country and most capable one at that.
Rumor has it that he trained in the military when he was eleven years old and started to solve crimes when he was just seven. If these rumors were true, it wouldn’t be strange if the man was extremely good in his job to locate suspects and solve crimes.
Lin Yi dialed the main office at one of the top floors. He exchanged a few words with the person who answered his call. After a minute, he put the phone down and turned to look at the two females standing before the front desk.
“Mr. Chu just left his office. He’ll be notified as soon as he returns.” He waved towards the many benches to the side and added, “Why don’t the both of you sit down first while you wait for him? I’ll get both of you a cup of coffee.”
Lin Yi was extremely attentive towards them and it made the woman sitting beside him shoot a weird glare at him. However, he ignored it as he led the two of them to the benches.
Yang Mi smiled at him, “Thank you. Are there any snacks to match the coffee?”
Her voice didn’t sound like she was asking but ordering him. But no one took offense to that. No one would feel offended when a beauty asked them anyway.
Lin Yi happily made his way towards the canteen to get two cups of coffee and some snacks for Yang Mi. Aunt Wu blinked her eyes at the scene and had a bad premonition that if her young master didn’t do something fast, men would flock around the young lady and eventually steal her from him.
“Ms. Yang. When the young master comes to meet us why don’t you stay with him and eat lunch together?” Aunt Wu held her hand as they seated on the bench.
Yang Mi tilted her head in confusion. She could eat at home but the idea of her eating with Kaisar would earn her brownie points
.
A wicked smile formed on her lips as she said, “That’s a great idea.”
